Peyton Lott Youmans, 67
SAVANNAH--Funeral for Peyton Lott Youmans, 67 will be held Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at 7 p.m. at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alan Bosson, the Rev. Jerry Claxton and the Rev. Robert Blankenship officiating.
A second funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Swainsboro. Burial will follow at Youmans cemetery in Swainsboro.
He died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002.
Born in Emanuel County, Mr. Youmans was a member of Southside Baptist Church and former member of First Baptist Church of Swainsboro prior to moving to Savannah. He was a former member of the Exchange Club of Chatham County, Jaycees and German Country Club. He was formerly employed by Citizens & Southern National Bank, Sun Finance and Loan Company and retired from Georgia Department of Revenue. He was also owner and operator of Youman's Swap Shop at Isle of Hope from 1984-1990.
Survivors include his wife, Marie C. Youmans of Savannah; his mother, Effie Louise Wilkes Youmans of Swainsboro; two sons, Jeffrey Alan Youmans of Brooks and Peyton Lee Youmans II of Prince George, Va.; two daughters, Charlotte Y. Fortner of Dacula and Joy Denise Youmans of Savannah; two sisters, Charlotte Y. Sowell of Savannah and Jackie Youmans Drake of Swainsboro; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Lee Sowell, Jim Poole, Larry Sweat, Phillip Y. Drake, Charles Matzen and Sonny Kessler.
Honorary pallbearers are Tom Edwards Sunday School Class in Savannah.

Harley Ward, 76
MARIANNA, FLA.--Funeral for Harley Ward, 76, was held Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at 3 p.m. at Marianna Church of God with Chaplain Andy Glover officiating. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery.
He died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Ward was born in Pompano, Fla. and lived in Orlando, Fla. over 40 years before moving to Marianna, Fla. He was a Trades maintenance man for the City of Orlando, Fla. He was also a member of the Assembly of God in Taft, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Ward of Marianna, Fla.; one son, Harley Dan Ward of Conroe, Texas; one daughter, Carolyn Garrett of Spring, Texas; two brothers, W.C. Ward of Savannah and John Ward of Statesboro; two sisters, Cola Hollaway of Stillmore and Mary Ann Donaldson of Twin City; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

James Ray Edwards, 93
TAMPA, FLA.--Graveside services for James Ray Edwards, 93, was held Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
He died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002.
Mr. Edwards was a native of Emanuel County, a World War II Army veteran and retired driver with Central Truck Lines.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Edwards of Tampa, Fla.; one son, David Zeigler of Plant City, Fla.; four daughters, Minnie Lou McBride of Tampa, Fla., Rhae Joan Davis of Webster, TX, Vivian York of Releigh, N.C., and Diane Zeigler Rodgers of Brandon, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

Evelyn Childs Yeomans, 80
SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Evelyn Childs Yeomans, 80, was held Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Swainsboro with Dr. Bob Blankenship officiating. Burial was at New Hope Primitive Baptist Church cemetery near Lexsy.
She died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at Emanuel Medical Center after an extended illness.
Mrs. Yeomans, a native of Irwin County, was a member of First Baptist Church where she sang in the Adult Choir and was a member of the Missionettes. She was also a member of the Agape Sunday school class. Mrs. Yeomans graduated from Mystic High School in Irwin County and ABAC Junior College. She received a teaching degree from Georgia Southern, retired from Emanuel County School system and was a member of Georgia Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include her husband, Waldo Yeomans of Swainsboro; three sons, Walt L. Yeomans and Dr. Randy K. Yeomans, both of Swainsboro and Ronny A. Yeomans of Dublin; one sister, Bernice Childs Johnson of Swainsboro; one halfbrother, Vernon Childs of Macon and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Eric Yeomans, Royce Childs, Jerry Wiggins, Stanford Childs, Jimmy West and Nick Herrington.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Agape Sunday School Class of Swainsboro First Baptist Church.
Marion Skinner DeLamater, 89
LAWRENCEVILLE--Funeral for Marion "Tina" Skinner DeLamater, 89, was held Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Lisa Graves and Dr. Mike Foley officiating. An additional service was held Monday at 4 p.m. at Kea's United Methodist Church in Emanuel County with the Rev. Tommy Veal officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery.
She died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002.
Mrs. DeLamater was a member of Gwinnett Council for the Arts and volunteer with American Cancer Society. She was also a member of Snellville Women's Club and coordinated the Arts & Craft show on the Courthouse Square of Lawrenceville. As a child she attended Kea's United Methodist Church in Emanuel County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. "Bob" DeLamater.
Survivors include one daughter, Phylecia Wilson of Snellville; one brother, Daris Skinner of Cochran; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ivy Ruth Wise Stewart, 80
WADLEY--Funeral for Ivy Ruth Wise Stewart, 80, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Wadley with Dr. Larry Sauls and the Rev. Bob Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Wadley City Cemetery.
She died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002 at Washington County Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Stewart was born in Bryan County but lived in Wadley since 1946. She was retired from Gracewood State Hospital after 13 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was owner of Stewart's Pool, member of Eastern Star and member of First United Methodist Church of Wadley.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith Bettilu Morris of Bartow and Brenda Carol Wallace of Statesboro; three sons, Ivy Lee Stewart Sr. of Twin City, Gene Stewart of Swainsboro and Rocky Stewart of Wadley; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Newton Wallace Jr., Shane Stewart, Lee Stewart Jr., Darryl Morris, Dwayne Morris and Nick Stewart.

Daniel George Herring, 41
SWAINSBORO--Graveside services for Daniel George Herring, 41, was held Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church cemetery of Waterloo, S.C. with David L. Herring Sr. officiating.
He died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at Emanuel Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Herring was a native of Charleston County, S.C. He was an electrician with Emanuel County Board of Education. He was also a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife Angela Shaw Herring of Swainsboro; three daughters, Mallory Drew Herring, Carolyn Lee Herring and Danielle Christina Herring, all of Swainsboro; father and stepmother, David L. and Lilly Brooks Herring Sr. of Marion, S.C.; mother and stepfather, Gayle K. and John L. Simmons of Beech Island, S.C.; a grandmother, Carolyn E. King of Aiken, S.C.; two stepsisters, Marian Herring of Charlotte, N.C. and Pamela Herring of Raleigh, N.C.; two brothers, David L. Herring Jr. of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Darryl S. Herring of Jacksonville, Fla. and one stepbrother, Patrick Herring of Goldsboro, N.C.

William Roscoe Sapp, 82
CLAXTON--Funeral for William Roscoe Sapp, 82 was held Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, at 4 p.m. at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Anderson Cemetery.
He died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at his residence in Evans County.
A native of Evans County, Mr. Sapp was a member of Anderson Primitive Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer and retired from Soil Conservation Service. He was also a member of Evans County Farm Bureau. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Sapp.
Survivors include three sons, Carson Sapp of Dublin, Therrell Sapp and Connie Sapp, both of Claxton; one daughter, Cindy Strickland of Claxton; three sisters, Lucille Palmer of Augusta, Ora Nell Lewis and Dorothea McCorkle, both of Claxton; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

William Bert Clark, 83
STILLMORE--Funeral for William Bert Clark, 83, was held Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Stillmore United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Hudson and the Rev. Paul W. Bowen Jr. officiating. Burial was at Stillmore Cemetery.
He died Wednesday, Oct. 9. 2002, at his residence.
A native of Emanuel County, Mr. Clark was the son of the late William Lake and Cynthia Brinson Clark. He attended Stillmore public schools and graduated from Central High School in Washington D.C. a member of Military Cadet Corps and National Honor Society. He was a graduate, member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and Delta Theta Phi Law fraternity of George Washington University School of Law in Washington D.C.
Mr. Clark was retired Emeritus Attorney-At-Law and member of State Bar of Georgia. He practiced law in 1952 before State and Federal Courts and in 1958 was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. He was also Title Officer for Maryland Dept. District Title Insurance Co. in Washington. After returning to Georgia in 1959, he became partner in Spivey, Carlton, Clark and Merrill law firm of Swainsboro.
He was also former member of Rockville, Md. Junior Chamber of Commerce and past president of Swainsboro Rotary Club. He was a member of Stillmore United Methodist Church where he served on Board of Trustees and was chairman of the Administrative Board. He was an active contributor and fundraiser for fellowship and educational additions to the church. Serving as church historian, he had the church placed on the National Register of Historic Places for its architecture and historical background.
Mr. Clark served in the U.S. Coast Guard in World War II as chief storekeeper at Coast Guard Clothing Depot and U.S. Naval Reserve at Potomac River Naval Commissary during the Korean War.
Survivors include four nephews, two nieces, five great-nephews, two great-nieces, and one great-great-nephew.

William Cicero Fennell, 62
SWAINSBORO--Funeral for William Cicero Fennell, 62, was held Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Earl Warnock officiating. Burial was at Swainsboro City Cemetery.
He died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at Emanuel Medical Center after an extended illness.
Mr. Fennell was a native of Emanuel County and son of the late Willie and Sallie Mae Fennell.
Survivors include two sisters, Florrie McKenzie of Summertown and Ethel Turner of Hardeeville, S.C.; four brothers, Grady Fennell of Faulkville, Bobby Fennell of Savannah, Billy Fennell of Eden and Delma Fennell of Twin City.
Pallbearers were Larry Hall, Henry Gene Hall, Billy Hall Jr., Henry Eugene Hall, Emory Fennell and Clay Hayslip.
