Carolyn Biagi Ludack

Mrs. Carolyn Biagi Ludack, age 64 of McDonough, Georgia and Naples, Florida died May 3, 2008. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Charles and Dina Marchioni Biagi. Carolyn graduated from Eastern Mich-igan University and was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. She retired from the BMA Dialysis Center in Naples; was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Naples; and attended St. James the Apostle Catholic Church while in McDonough. She enjoyed woodworking and craft shows. She was preceded in death by a son, David Michael Ludack.

Survivors include her husband, Tom Ludack of McDonough; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan (Richie) Caron of Jackson, Jaime (Eric) Mitchell of McDonough; granddaughters, Isabella Mitchell and Kiersten Caron; brother and sister-in-law, Charles (Carol) Biagi of Bellingham, Washing-ton; numerous other family and friends.

Services were held May 7 from St. James the Apostle Catholic Church with Father John Murphy as Celebrant. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to BMA South Collier Dialysis, 12703 Tamiami Trail, Naples, Florida 34113, (Att: Cindy Reiprich) in memory of Mrs. Ludack. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Bobby Curtis

Mr. Bobby Curtis, age 62 of Jonesboro, Georgia died May 4, 2008. Bobby was born in Columbus, Georgia to the late Lloyd Robert Curtis and Lenna Mae Carter. Bobby was a hardworking, honest man that loved his family and friends. He loved his girls and spoiled his grandchildren rotten. Bobby enjoyed to golf and watch his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. Bobby and his wife Delores started their lives together on May 8, 1972. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Anderson.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Delores Curtis of Jonesboro; daughters and son-in-law, Dana Curtis of Atlanta, Crystal (Dennis) Brown of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Madisyn, Kyndal, and Adam Brown; mother, Lenna Stillwell of McCaysville; sisters, Ruby Kephart of Murphy, North Carolina, Lura Carter of Cleveland, Tennessee; brothers, Bill Curtis of McCaysville, Jimmy Curtis of Cleveland, Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted Thursday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m. from the Griffin First Assembly with Pastor Marty Simpson and Pastor Randy Valimont officiating. Interment Westwood Gardens in Griffin. Friends may visit the family Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Christopher James Evans

Mr. Christopher James Evans, age 55, of McDonough, Georgia died May 4, 2008. Mr. Evans was born in Johnson City, New York, the son of the late Beverley Earle Evans and Isabella Mary Hahn. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Glen Haven Baptist Church. Mr. Evans was employed by Cameron and Barkley as an account representative.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sue Brown Evans of McDonough; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Julie Evans of Mableton; siblings, Charles Evans, Carol Urmy, Charlotte Stockdale, and Robert Evans; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday, May 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Haven Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Easterwood officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Sarah Frances Posey Koenig

Mrs. Sarah Frances Posey Koenig, age 78, of McDonough, Georgia died May 4, 2008. Mrs. Koenig was born in McCaysville, Georgia the daughter of the late Bessie Anna Perryman and James Daniel Posey. Mrs. Koenig was a member of Morrow First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed swimming, her animals and working with puzzles. Her husband, John Henry Koenig, Jr. and several siblings preceded her in death.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Koenig Fleischman and husband Jack of McDonough; grandson, John Douglas Wilson of McDonough; great granddaughter, Hailey Nicole Wilson of McDonough; sister, Flora Bowling of Madison; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were held May 7 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Dr. Ed Judy officiating. Interment Shadowlawn Memorial Gardens in LaGrange. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Lucy Mae Turner Echols

Mrs. Lucy Mae Turner Echols, age 95, of McDonough, Georgia died April 22, 2008. Mrs. Echols was born in Butts County the daughter of the late Phoebe Jane Ellis and Oscar E. Turner. Mrs. Echols was a lifelong member of McDonough First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling and spending her vacations with family in Hawaii. She was an excellent seamstress; she enjoyed cooking and was known for her sweet potato pies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard G. Echols; daughters, Phoebe Jane Echols and Glenda Echols Smith.

Survivors are her granddaughters, Camille (Russell) Sain of Atlanta and Kimberly (James) Ellis of Boca Raton, Florida; great granddaughters, Abbigail Camille Sain and Catie Sain.

Services were held April 26, at Flippen United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dana Everhart officiating. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Wendell H. Rose

Mr. Wendell H. Rose, age 66, of McDonough, Georgia died April 22, 2008. He was born in Clintwood, Virginia to the late Linden Clarence and Dossie (Fleming) Rose. Mr. Rose attended Henry Baptist Church. He loved studying his Bible, gospel music and attending the three yearly reunions. He was a man of many talents, including plumbing, maintenance work and automotive upholstery. But most important to him was gathering with friends and family, especially watching and attending his grandchildren’s activities. Mr. Rose was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Gray; brothers, L.C. Rose and Hugh Lynn Rose; sisters, Ava Rose, Lorraine Rose and Geneva Deel.

Survivors include his wife, Janice (Stanley) Rose of McDonough; daughters, Alisa Kennedy of Wise, Virginia, Marcia Kenon of McDonough, Rita Gray of Lenoir City, Tennessee; grandchildren, William Kennedy, Jessica Kenon, Wesley Kenon, Tiffany Gray; brothers, Doug Rose of Lake Oconee, Gary Rose of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; sisters, Sarah Puckett and Linda Schray, both of Stockbridge, Vikki Rose of Monroe, and Linda Phillips of Clintwood, Vir-ginia.

Services were held April 25 at Clintwood-Colley Funeral Home in Clintwood, Virginia with Ministers Jim Stanley, Gary Rose, and Toney Nunley officiating. Interment Lock-hart Cemetery in Clintwood, Virginia. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, Southeast Division, 135 Bradford Square, Suite B, Fayetteville, Georgia 30215. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Opal Lee Cochran Gardiner

Mrs. Opal Lee Cochran Gardiner, 84 of McDonough, Georgia died April 24, 2008. Mrs. Gardiner enjoyed spending time with her family; she especially enjoyed cooking the family dinner every Sunday. Mrs. Gardiner was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth T. Gardiner.

She is survived by her sons: Daniel (Ginger) Gardiner of McDonough and Ken Gardiner of Pennsylvania ; grandchildren, Kelly Moss of McDonough, Karen (Doc) Rigsby of Woodstock, Robby Gardiner of Minnesota and Mary Gardiner of Pennsylvania ; four great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were held April 28 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Dorriety officiating. Interment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
