Grace Griffith
Mrs. Grace Griffith, age 91, of Hampton, Georgia died May 23, 2008 at her residence. She was born
in Fulton County to the late John Wesley and Eva Mae Owen Fretwell. Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Paul David Griffith, Jr. and by sons, Roy Haynes Morris and John Marvin Morris.
Survivors include daughter and son in law, Hazel (David) McCrite of Hampton; son and daughter in law, Curtis (Mary Pat) Griffith of Morrow; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; sister and brother in law, Elsie (Jay) Mullinex of Memphis, Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted May 27 from the Crawfordville Baptist Church Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
John Cardwell
John Cardwell, also known as "One Shot", age 82, of McDonough died May 24, 2008. He was born
in LaGrange to the late John Robert and Bessie Iula Cardwell. Mr. Cardwell was a member of Eagles Landing First Baptist Church. John was an owner operator of Georgia Highway Express. John professionally drove his truck for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his spouse Chloe Culpepper Cardwell.
Mr. Cardwell is survived by daughter; Donna Fisher of Raleigh, North Carolina, son; Johnny (Dawn) Cardwell of Jonesboro and granddaughter; Kristen (Rankin) Muse of Raleigh, North Carolina. Great grandchildren; Bradley and Rylee Muse of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Services were held May 28 at the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Dr. Tim Dowdy officiating. Interment Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
James F. Bagby
Mr. James F. Bagby, age 79, of McDonough, Georgia died May 12, 2008. He was born
in Hawkinsville to the late James Howard and Eva Kate Brownlee Bagby. Mr. Bagby served his country in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1948; and in the United States Coast Guard from 1948 to 1965. He was a member of the McDonough First United Methodist Church. He was an avid reader who enjoyed fly tying, hunting, and gardening. He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Kate Bagby.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Louise Bagby of McDonough; children, Karen (Bruce) Dietrich of Tallahassee, Florida, Pamela Bagby of Cuthbert, John (Pepper) Bagby of Locust Grove, Lora Bagby of McDonough; grandchildren, Drew and Kurt Dietrich, Amanda, Devin, and Jonathan Bagby; sisters, Sarah Gainey of Tallahassee, Florida, Henrietta Lucas of Aiken, South Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held May 15 from the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Dana Everhart officiating. Interment Haisten at Eastlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America Troop 62, c/o Gene Morris, 228 Shorewood Court, McDonough, Georgia 30252 in memory of Mr. Bagby. George K. Bailey
George K. Bailey, age 72, of Stockbridge, Georgia since 1974, died May 17, 2008. Born in Charleston, West Virginia, the son of the late Shurley and Margaret Thaxton Bailey. George served proudly in the United States Marine Corp, receiving his discharge in 1962 at Quantico, Virginia. Mr. Bailey is predeceased by his mother and father, along with brothers; Eugene, Lloyd and Ben Bailey, sisters; Virginia Lott and Mary Ann Yoak.
Survivors include his wife Sylvia; sisters Louise Wells and
Naomi Hayes of Florida, Elizabeth Coiner, Helen (Carl Francisco) and Alma Bell of Charleston, West Virginia; brother-in-law Norman (Rose) Foster of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 36 nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Hemphill Road Presbyterian Church in Stockbridge on Tuesday, May 2. Cremation Society of the South in charge of arrangements.
Hunter Leedy Boice
Hunter Leedy "Bud" Boice, age 85, Stockbridge, Georgia, died May 1, 2008. He was born
in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to John Boice and Mary Leedy. He retired from the Ohio Youth Commission and is a World War II and Korean War Veteran. He was a member of Rodney United Methodist Church, Master Mason of the Grand Lodge of Columbus, Ohio, avid amateur radio operator and train enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Elizabeth Boice, sister Mary and brother John.
Survivors include daughter Tracey (James) Hood, of Stockbridge; son Hunter L. Boice of St. Petersburg, Florida; granddaughter Heather (Roman) Pracko of Acworth; sister Ida Elizabeth Boice of Winchester-Canal, Ohio; and his kitten, "Amos."
Interment Georgia National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois, 60601. Cremation Society of the South at Eagle's Landing in charge of arrangements.
James W. Kinard
Mr. James W. Kinard of Stockbridge, Georgia died May 9, 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Kinard of Stockbridge; mother, Mary Brewer of Jonesboro; sons, Glen Kinard of Carrollton, Gary Kinard of Villa Rica; stepdaughter Stefanie McCullers of Locust Grove and
stepson Derrick Terrell of McDonough; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Joseph Darrell Tanner
Mr. Joseph Darrell Tanner, age 49 of McDonough, Georgia died April 28, 2008. He was born
in Atlanta to Dorothy Geraldine Smith and Joe W. Tanner. Darrell graduated from Henry County High School in 1976 and had worked for Delta Airlines for over 20 years. He was a member of Lake Cindy Baptist Church; was an avid bowler, sports enthusiast, and enjoyed good music. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Jean McTaggart Tanner.
Survivors include his daughter, Kristi Tanner of McDonough; mother, Geraldine Tanner of Hampton; father, Joe W. Tanner of Hampton; special friend, Karen Hooten of McDonough.
Services were held May 2 from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. J.E Jarrard officiating. Interment Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
