THOMSON, Ga.- Funeral service for Mrs. Roma A. Coleman of Thomson, who entered into rest Saturday, November 27, 2004, was held Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, Thomson, Rev. A. McKinley Royal, officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Survivors are her husband, Mr. Leverette Coleman, Thomson; three daughters, Latha Bright-Anderson of Freeport, N.Y., Roma Bright of Kissimmee, Fla., Sheryl Bright Seagle of Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, Leverette L. Coleman of Becon, N.Y., Ronald Coleman of Clifwood, N.J.; one brother, William Adams of Becon, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Thomson Funeral System was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Julious A. Grant
MESENA, Ga.- Funeral service for Mr. Julious A. Grant of Mesena, who died November 24, 2004, was held on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 1p.m. at the Paynes Baptist Church, Mesena. Rev. Andrew Grant, Eulogist. Interment was in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Survivors are devoted wife of 53 years, Mrs. Daisy L. Grant, Mesena; three sons, Purvis Lazenby of Linden, N.J., Lyndon Grant of Fountain, Colorado, Rev. Andrew Grant of Mesena; one brother, Mitchell Grant of Thomson; two sisters, Cornelia Cartledge, Rose Hall, both of Thomson; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Thomson Funeral System was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Nora "Candy" Louise Johnston
GIBSON, Ga.- Mrs. Nora "Candy" Louise Johnston, 55, of Gibson, entered into rest December 4, 2004 at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Marvin T. Johnson, Sr. and the daughter of the late Chalmers Dewitt Usry and the late Louise Newsome Brooks.
Survivors include two sons, Martin Thomas Johnson, Jr. of Gibson, Tommy Malcolm Johnson (Roxanne) of Virginia Beach, Va.; one daughter, Anna Marie Kitchens (Chris) of Thomson; two sisters, Gail Newsome of Thomson, Faye Redfern of Dublin; two grandchildren, Brittany and Brianna Kitchens; one nephew, T.H. Haygood of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; mother and father-in-law, Florine and Ken Kurtz of Melbourne, Fla.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Augusta, but lived in Colorado before moving to Gibson twenty years ago. She was a homemaker and managed food service for many years. Mrs. Johnson was also a member of the Gibson Church of God.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Kitchens officiating. Interment followed in the Bethel United Methodist Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Lester Newsome, Jim Owens, Mike Lyons, Thomas Chalker, Julian Kitchens, Talmadge Chalker.

Memorials may be made to Grace Community Fellowship, P.O. Box 863, Thomson, Ga. 30824.

Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Susan W. Murchison
THOMSON, Ga.- Ms. Susan W. Murchison of Thomson, entered into rest Nov. 30, 2004, at University Hospital.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Dec. 4, at Kiokee Baptist Chapel with Revs. Phillip Kinney and Jonathan Melhir officiating.

Miss Murchison was born in Biloxi, Miss., but lived in Emanuel County and McDuffie County most of her life. She was a homemaker, member of the Kidney Foundation and Kiokee Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Kelton Lee Murchison (Jody) and Charles Dewayne Murchison, both of Thomson, and Jacob Daniel Murchison, Harlem; one brother, Robert Whitfield (Kathy), Warrenton; three grandchildren, Haley Autumn Murchison, Travis Lee Murchison and Kelton Lee Murchison III.

Mr. Crill Olsson
THOMSON, Ga.- Mr. Crill Olsson, 66, of Thomson, died Friday, December 3, 2004, in the University Hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 7, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating. Burial was in the Decatur City Cemetery, Decatur, Ga.

Mr. Olsson was a resident of McDuffie County. He was retired from the Department of Public Safety.

Survivors include his fiancee, Kathryn Hunt, Thomson; two sisters and two brothers.

Mrs. Emily Adkins Smith
Retired Seamstress
THOMSON, Ga.- Mrs. Emily Adkins Smith, 87, of Thomson, entered into rest December 5, 2004 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Floyd Cleo Smith and the daughter of the late Weaver A. Adkins and the late Nora Brown Adkins.
Survivors include one daughter, Jean S. Langham (Reese) of Thomson; sisters, Ruby Turner, Helen Harper and Beatrice Morris, all of Thomson, Credelle Ariail of Duncanville, Texas, Marvis Bramlett of Lawrenceville, Ga., Imogene Cowart of Stone Mountain, Ga.; six grandchildren, Beverly S. Graham, Kathy S. Locklear, Judy Lendman, Gale Chapman, Vicky S. Reese and Gary Smith; 10 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her sons, Jerry Dean Smith and Gary Dale Smith.

Mrs. Smith was born in Oglethorpe County, Georgia, lived in the Atlanta area and resided in McDuffie County, Georgia for the past ten years. She was a retired Seamstress at Thomson Comp any and Retail Clerk with J.C. Penny. Mrs. Smith was also a member of First Baptist Church, Thomson, Georgia.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Dr. James M. Ramsey officiating.

Pallbearers were Bruce Adkins, Gary Adkins, Greg Morris, Scott Bramlett, S.A. Partridge, Jr. and Keith Verner.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice or to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1205, Thomson, Ga. 30824.

Ms. Elson Teen Wiley
THOMSON, Ga.- Funeral service for Ms. Elson Teen Wiley, 60, Thomson, was held on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Vanderhust CME Church, Rev. John Smalley officiating. Interment was in William Hill Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane Wiley and Tina Wiley; one son, James Wiley, all of Thomson; two sisters, Mary Bonner and Margaret Usry of Thomson; three brothers, John Wiley of Springfield, Mass., Lawrence Wiley and McArthur Lazenby of Macon.

Thomson Funeral System was in charge.

Mrs. Mary Ruth Treadwell Chandler
Homemaker
HARLEM, Ga. -- Mrs. Mary Ruth Treadwell Chandler entered into rest Monday, November 22, 2004 in Doctors Hospital. She was the widow of the late Mr. Jack Watson Chandler.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 27, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. Interment was in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Mark Turner, Johnny Treadwell, Glenn Treadwell, Jr., Jack Crunkelton, Ronnie Smith and Kevin Soakup.

Family members are one son, Terry Duane Chandler, of Harlem; one daughter, Sherry Ann Crunkelton, of Thomson; two brothers, Glenn Treadwell, of Augusta and Boyce Lee Treadwell, Jr., of Thomson; three sisters, Marie Bales and Isabelle Rossman, both of Augusta, Lois Ann Krauss, of Newark, Delaware, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Chandler was born in Covington, Ga., a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

Memorials may be made to the National Stroke Association, 9707 E. Easter Lane; Englewood, Col. 80112.

Mr. Bobby Harold Crosby
Retired Georgia State Trooper
THOMSON, Ga. -- Mr. Bobby Harold Crosby, 50, of Thomson, entered into rest November 27, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Shelia Johnson Crosby.
Survivors include his wife, Shelia J. Crosby, Thomson; children, Michael (Katie) Crosby, Thomson, Tiffany Guthrie, Thomson, Alecia Shaw, Stockbridge; mother, Mrs. Frances (George Tudor) Crosby, Dearing; grandchildren, Kaleigh Crosby, Thomson, Taylor Shaw, Monroe, Mikayla Mitchell, Monroe; honorary family member, Tommy Crafton, Thomson.

Mr. Crosby was the son of the late Harold Crosby. Mr. Crosby was born in McDuffie County, Georgia. He was retired as a Georgia State Trooper after 32 years of service and lived most of his life in Thomson, Georgia. Mr. Crosby was also a member and Deacon of Pine Grove Baptist Church, a Master Mason of the A.J. Miller Masonic Lodge and Alee Shrine Temple, past president of the Thomson Shrine Club, member and president of the Blue Knights Georgia IV, member of Association of State Troopers, member of the Georgia Peace Officers Association and past president and current board member of the Georgia Department of Public Safety Credit Union.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at Pine Grove Baptist Church, Thomson with Butch Baston officiating. Interment followed in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Dennis Jones, Rick Fletcher, Roy Russell, Gary Harden, Rodney Wilcher and Jimmy Williams. Honorary pallbearers were members of law enforcement and Deacons of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church, 3127 Pine Grove Church Drive, N.E., Thomson, Georgia, 30824.

Mrs. Juanita Davis
THOMSON, Ga. -- Funeral service for Mrs. Juanita Davis, 60, of Thomson, was held on Friday, November 26, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Springfield Baptist Church, with Rev. John Smalley officiating. Interment was in First Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, Appling.
Survivors are her husband, Mr. Jimmy L. Davis; four daughters, Tami Hill, Brenda Wiley, Sharon Reese and Natash Davis; one son, Darwin Davis, a brother, Jessie Neely, five grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Mr. George Oscar Dillon
MARTINEZ, Ga. -- George Oscar Dillon, beloved husband of Louise Dillon, entered into rest Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at Doctors Hospital.
Mr. Dillon was a resident of Augusta for 18 years. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force where he served for more than 25 years. He was a Master Sergeant and served in the Vietnam Conflict. He belonged to the V.F.W. in Martinez and the American Legion.

Full Military Graveside Services were held Monday, November 29, 2004 at Westview cemetery in Thomson at 11 a.m. with Air Force Military Chaplain officiating.

Mr. Dillon is survived by his wife, Louise Dillon of Martinez; two sons, George Howard Dillon of Houston, Tx., and Michael Dillon of Dallas, Tx.; two daughters, Debra Rice of Dayton, Ohio, Georgetta Dillon of Augusta; one stepson, Dennis P. Faglier of Augusta; one stepdaughter, Delores Turner of Waynesboro; one brother, Wannie Gene Dillon of Formso, Fla., and numerous grandchildren.

Mrs. Dorothy Marie Coleman Berry
THOMSON, Ga.- The funeral for Mrs. Dorothy Marie Coleman Berry, 44, of Thomson, was held Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 12 noon at the Springfield Baptist Church, Rev. F.D. Favors, pastor, officiating. Interment was in West Quarters Cemetery.
Survivors are husband, Robert Berry, Warrenton; mother and stepfather, Susie and Jessie Ross, Thomson; father and stepmother, Henry and Joann Coleman of Mobile, Ala.; four children, Cary Ross, Dearing, Shenika Y. Johnson, Antwain Johnson and Dontaveous Coleman, all of Thomson; three sisters, Juanita Casey, Thomson, Velda Hickbottom and Ramona Williams of Mobile, Ala.; six brothers, Michael Coleman, Sparta, Dairee L. Coleman, Thomson, James Coleman and Nicholas Coleman of Atlanta, Terrance Coleman and Jeffery Coleman, Mobile, Ala.; stepbrothers, David Wallace, Mobile, Ala. and Gonzale Williams, Raleigh, N.C.; other relatives and friends.

Ms. Willie Gay Chapman
WARRENTON, Ga.- Ms. Willie Gay Chapman, died January 22, 2005. She leaves to cherish her memories, five children, Gardell Flournoy, Adrian Lane, Stanley Flournoy, Anthony Flournoy, Baine Flournoy.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Thomson. Burial in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery.
