Raleigh Marvin Ford
Mr. Raleigh Marvin Ford, age 93, of McDonough, Georgia died June 7, 2008. He was born
in McDonough to the late Raleigh Franklin and Elizabeth Bonner Ford. Mr. Ford was a WWII veteteran. He loved the outdoors and was an avid Georgia Tech fan and had season tickets. But most important to him was his family.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Hazel Luella (Major) Ford of McDonough; sons, Eddie Ford of McDonough, Raleigh Calvin (Pam) Ford of Monticello; grandchildren, Denise (Jeff) Woodward of McDonough, Cal (Davina) Ford of McDonough, Stacy (Scott) Cronan of Monticello; seven great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; step-grandsons, Kevin Clark and Mark Pierce.
Services were held June 11 at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Pastor Gene Hammonds officiating. Interment East-lawn Memorial Gardens. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.
Frances Allen Fannin
Frances Allen Fannin, age 76, of McDonough, Georgia died June 13, 2008. Frances was born
in Covington, the daughter of Lollie Avery Allen and Will (W.J.) Allen and was one of three children. Frances retired from Southern Bell after a 30-year career. She re-entered the workforce and worked for a number of years at Piedmont Moulding and subsequently, Sporty Lady, in Conyers. She was an active and dedicated member of Timberridge Presbyterian Church for 47 years. She was a loving “mother” to her family and to all children with whom she came into contact. She loved her flowers and doing for others. She was married
for 46 years to Rogers Fannin who preceded her in death. Also, preceding her in death were her brother Willie Clifford Allen and seven half-brothers and sisters – Bessie Cawthon, Essie Watts, Nina Moore, Gertrude Rosser, Emmett, Linzy and Herman Allen.
Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law Mary Smith Alessandri and Al Alessandri of McDonough; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and god-daughter Leigh De Lozier, and her dear friend, Thurman Rivers.
Services were held June 16 at Timberridge Presbyterian Church with Rev. Matt Allison and Rev. Keith Keller officiating. Interment Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Timberridge Presbyterian Church, 2704 Conyers Road, McDonough, Georgia 30252 or Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Drive, McDonough, Georgia 30253. Marian Tomlinson
Marian "Cookie" Tomlinson, age 81, of Stockbridge, Georgia died June 13, 2008. She was born
in Sandersville to the late Carroll and Sarah McMillian Cook. She and her husband were members of the First Baptist Church of Stockbridge since 1968. She taught at Stockbridge Junior High until 1975, volunteered with the American Cancer Society and Henry County Meals On Wheels, was a member of the Stockbridge Garden Club, and the Young At Heart group at her church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lyman Tomlinson and her brother, Herman Benton Cook.
“Cookie” is survived by daughters, Gail and Fred Haney, Sherry Poirier, both of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Lindy Donahue and Kyle Haney; sister, Carolyn and Delbert Wilkes of Brunswick; sister-in-law, Pat Waguespack of McDonough; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held June 17 at First Baptist Church of Stockbridge with Rev. Steve Murell officiating. Interment Fairview Memorial Gardens. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Patricia Eleanor Hammond Oakes
Mrs. Patricia Eleanor Hammond Oakes, age 69, of McDonough, Georgia died June 16, 2008. Mrs. Oakes was born
in Lexington, Nebraska, the daughter of the late Bernice Beanblossom and Warren Hammond. Mrs. Oakes was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed being with her family and friends, quilting and fishing. Her husband, Raymond Oakes and brother, Lee Hammond preceded her death.
Survivors include her children, Pam Tauber (Mike) of Stockbridge, Michele Mizzell (Chris) of Acworth and Doug Delzell (Donna) of McDonough; stepdaughter, Vickie Haskin (Bob) of Littleton, Colorado; eight grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Burns of Lexington, Nebraska; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held June 17 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Brooks Everett officiating. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make donations to the American Cancer Society. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Warner Phillips
Warner Phillips, age 83, of Locust Grove, Georgia died June 16, 2008. He was born
in Duluth to the late Charles Newton and Dessie Payne Phillips. Mr. Phillips was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lee Waldrop Phillips and daughter, Debra Lucille Phillips.
Survivors include his son, Gene Phillips of McDonough; daughter, Edna Lee Morris of Locust Grove; granddaughters, Debra Ancell, Cynthia Dawn Clemons, Donna Summey; grandson, Bryant Smalley; great grandchildren, John Ancell, Josh Ancell, Jessica Ancell, Gabe Clemons, Nathan Clemons, Olivia Summey; brothers, Grady Phillips of Snellville and Marvin Phillips of Cumming.

Jack David Uselton Sr.
Mr. Jack David Uselton Sr., age 67, of Fayetteville, Georgia died May 23, 2008. He was born
in Atlanta to Jack Lawson and Helen Otella Thomas Uselton. His greatest love was his family and he enjoyed good food.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Lisle Uselton of Fayetteville; daughters, Tammy (Michael) Chupp of Hampton, Melody (Mark) Kersey of Lovejoy; sons, David (Staci) Uselton of McDonough, Dustin (Heather) Uselton; ten grandchildren, one great grandchild; brother, Lloyd Uselton of Chamblee.

Bradley Millsaps
Mr. Bradley Millsaps, age 73, of Stockbridge, Georgia died May 26, 2008. He was born
in Mobile to the late Walter Dart and Helen Elizabeth Stepp Millsaps. Mr. Millsaps’ hobbies included sports, lawnmowers and trucks, but most important to him was his family and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Lorene Millsaps of Stockbridge; children, Renee' Swann of Stockbridge, Brian Millsaps of McDonough, Greta Lorraine Reid of Stockbridge; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia Golden.
