WILLIAM CLARK
William Rice Clark, 82, of LaFayette, formerly from Rising Fawn, died Monday, Dec. 10, in a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of north Georgia, a US Army World War II veteran and a Baptist. Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his son Billy Leon Clark. Survivors include: wife, Mamie Lee Clark; two sons, William Dee Clark, LaFayette, Jerry Lebron Clark, Cleveland, Tenn.; one daughter, Essie Delilah Hawkins, LaFayette; two brothers, I.G. Clark, Trenton Buddy Clark, Chattanooga, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held today at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Bradford officiating. Interment will follow in Hawkins Cemetery. Arrangements were by Moore Funeral Home in Trenton.
ALICE DURHAM
Alice M. Durham, 93, of Lookout Mountain died Saturday at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Lookout Mountain's Hinkle Community. She was a member of the Lookout Mountain Baptist Church. She attended the Payne Chapel United Methodist Church. Durham was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucinda Williams; husband, Robert E. Durham, Sr.; grandson, Thomas Thrush. Survivors include: four daughters, Hazel Neal, Rosa Lee "Jack" Veal and Shirley Jean Bull, all of Lookout Mountain, Anna Lou Hilton, Marshall, Mo; two sons, Bobby Durham, Tenton, Jim Durham, Ringgold; 22 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Lane Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Smith and the Rev. Fred Bradford officiating. Interment was in Lakewood Memory Gardens South. Willa Dean Inman, 76, of Flat Rock, Ala., died Dec. 5 at her residence. She was a member of Higdon Holiness Church. Inman was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Inman; parents, C.B. and Annie Lue Culpepper; three grandchildren. Survivors include: two sons, Steve Inman, Tiftonia, Tenn., Benny Inman, Ider, Ala.; three daughters, Nannette Black, Ider, Ala., Cheryl Strickland, Chattanooga, Spring Shelton, Fall Creek Falls, Tenn.; four sisters, Betty Wilbourn, Bonifay, Fla., Shirley Boren, Bryant, Ala., Freddie Scoggin, Cartersville, Phyllis Dehart, Flat Rock, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. The Rev. Howard Gothard, 82, of Henagar, Ala., died Oct. 19 at his residence. Gothard was a World War II veteran and member and former pastor of Harmony Grove Baptist Church. He was a member of Ider Masonic Lodge. He is survived by wife Lorene Gothard; son Gene Gothard, South Pittsburg, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Gothard, New Hope, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law Ruby and Charles Mayo, Kimball, Tenn.; daughter Crystal Parham, Chattanooga; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers James Aubrey Gothard, Bridgeport, Ala.; sisters Lillian Irene Tiffin, Bridgeport, Ala., and Susie Ivey, Union Grove, Ala. BOBBY RAY JOHNSON
Bobby Ray "Tiny" Johnson, 71, of St. Augustine, Fla., died Oct. 19. He grew up in the Daus community near Dunlap, Tenn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in Korea. He is preceded in death by parents Foster Johnson and Lucille Frizzel Johnson Hogue. He is survived by wife of 50 years Helen Thompson Johnson; sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Kara Johnson, Tony and Barbara Johnson; and brother and sister-in-law Charles "Buck" and Joy Johson of Trenton. Funeral services were held Oct. 24 at Craig Funeral Home in St. Augustine, Fla.

James Albert Pell Jr., 56, of Chattanooga died Oct. 19 in a local hospital. He was a longtime resident of Chattanooga and was of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by father James Albert Pell Sr., and daughter Ginger Ann Southerland. He is survived by mother Virginia Ramey, Trenton; son James Albert Pell III, Chattanooga; daughter Robyn Nicole Pell, Chattanooga; brothers Gary Pell, Rising Fawn, Donnie Wise, Chattanooga; sisters Susie Tucker and Pat Quarles, both of Chattanooga; six grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mearse was preceded in death by her parents, William and Johnnie McCormick Walker; husband, Emmett O. Mearse. He was a resident of Bryant, Ala. for 28 years, was retired from Lockheed Aircraft in Marietta, was a U.S. Army World War II veteran serving in the Pacific theater and New Guinea. Survivors include: wife, Ida M. Rhodes; sister, Sarah Bullard, Ringgold; several nieces and nephews. Marion Odell Lowery, 58, of Trenton died Dec. 3 at NHC Healthcare in Rossville. Lowrey was born in Houston, Texas and was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Mildred Farr McMahan, 88, of Trenton died Dec. 6. McMahan was a lifelong resident of Trenton, a homemaker and former manager for the Gannaway-Riley Dime Store in Trenton. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by husband Hoyt DeVries, Paul Wilson and Tommy McMahan, sons Billy Frank Devries and E.A. DeVries.
