Bobby Oneil Clark
Mr. Bobby Oneil Clark, age 77, of McDonough, Georgia died July 13, 2008. Mr. Clark was born
in Fulton County the son of the late Gladys Mae Hicks and Alphonso Wilhelm Clark. Mr. Clark served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, he retired from Atlantic Steele, and he worked as a volunteer with the Henry County Heritage and Hidden Valley Senior Centers. Mr. Clark enjoyed being with his family, friends, hunting, fishing and was an avid pool player.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife of 54 years, Freddie Clark of McDonough; children, Joseph Clark (Sherri) of Maryville, Tennessee and Beth Semasky (Mike) of Marietta; grandchildren, Justin Webb, Lindsay Webb, Daniel Clark, and Anna Clark; sisters, Joan Green of Columbus, and Alice Rogers of Dunwoody; several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mr. Clark were held July 16, 2008 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Pastor Robb Harrell officiating. Interment Locust Grove Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home, in charge of arrangements.
Lewis Evans Jackson
Mr. Lewis Evans Jackson, age 81 of McDonough, Georgia died July 15, 2008. He was born
in Jenkins County son of the late Elijah L. and Marie Evans Jackson. Lewis served his country in the Unites States Army; attended Cornerstone Baptist Church; was a retired over-the-road truck driver for Superior Trucking and Atlanta Wire; and was a member of Riverdale Masonic Lodge # 709. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey June Hart Jackson.
Survivors include his brother, Noel Jackson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania ; nieces, Cathy Tate of Salem, Oregon, Chris Campbell of Portland, Oregon; nephew, Don Jackson of Portland, Oregon; several cousins in south Georgia.
Services were held July 22 from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Roberts officiating. Interment Sherwood Memorial Park. Michael James Kennedy
Mr. Michael James Kennedy, age 49, of McDonough Georgia died July 14, 2008. Michael was born
in Germany; served his country in the United States Army and worked construction for many years. He enjoyed fishing and spending time at the lake with his children on his boat. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward O. Kennedy.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila O’Melia Kennedy of Jonesboro; children, Edward Michael Kennedy and Ashley Ann Kennedy of Jonesboro; mother, Gertrude (Oma) Kennedy of McDonough; siblings, Linda (Paul) Harris of Rio Vista, California, Edward O. Kennedy, Jr. (Pamela) of Yucca Valley, California, Josie Sarah (Russell F.) Amerson of McDonough, Shirley Ann (Jim) Wallace of Huntington Beach, California, Patrick Henry Kennedy of McDonough; nieces and nephews, Kevin (Sheba) Harris of San Francisco, California, FrankieAndrews II of Stockbridge, Brian Boughan of Huntington Beach, California, Barbara Ann Boughan of Huntington Beach, California, Tara Amerson of McDonough; great niece, Zoe Harris of San Francisco, California; aunts, Marianne (Dan) Rice of Jonesboro, Helga (Earl) Rice of Griffin and their families.

Fern Miller
Mrs. Fern Miller, age 76, of McDonough, Georgia died July 12, 2008. Born in Bronx, New York, to the late Cyril and Vivian G. Flanders, Mrs. Miller lived in Throggs Neck New York for over 50 years before moving to McDonough. She raised two wonderful children (Brenda and Douglas) and supported the Bronx Police Department’s 45th precinct, as an administrative aide for 20 years before retiring. As a McDonough resident, Fern, attended the Unity Church of Morrow. A great care-giver, Fern loved watching professional baseball, especially the New York Mets, Yankees and Atlanta Braves. An active grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed bowling (she was in a bowling league for several years); enjoyed traveling and working in her flower garden. She was also an an avid reader and great cook. Music and meditation were also other passions; however, her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren. She was beloved by many friends.
Mrs. Miller is survived by daughter, Brenda (Rod) Tyler of Waldorf, Maryland; son, Douglas (Regina) Miller of McDonough; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and great neighborhood friends.
Services were held July 21, 2008 at the Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors chapel with Pastor Sharma Lewis officiating. Interment Kennesaw Memorial Park. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
James F. Freeman
Mr. James F. Freeman, age 47, of McDonough, Georgia died July 17, 2008. Mr. Freeman was born
in DeKalb County, Georgia. Mr. Freeman was a devoted husband, father, and friend, he was in trucking, he enjoyed working in his yard, was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, and he enjoyed working out.
Survivors are his wife, Gena Freeman of McDonough; children, Whitney and Clarke Swiedler of Atlanta and Jamie and Summer Freeman of McDonough.
A private memorial service was held by the family. Haisten Funeral Home, in charge of arrangements.
Frank Norman Strickland
Mr. Frank Norman Strickland, Sr., age 82, of Griffin, Georgia died July 20, 2008. Mr. Strickland was born
in Alvaton, the son of the late Annie Belle Higgins and Emmett Ansley Strickland. He was a member of Jonesboro Road Baptist Church, he served his country in the US Army and was in the 82nd Airborne Division, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment. He lived in Henry County for 38 years, and he enjoyed traveling to Florida Beaches and spending time with his family especially the family holidays.
Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife, Vesta Brown Strickland of Griffin; children, Jane Martin of McDonough, Anne Deyton of Stockbridge, Marie Shepherd of Griffin, Frank Strickland Jr. of McDonough, Ray Strickland of McDonough, Johnny Strickland of McDonough, Jerry Strickland and Terry Strickland of Stockbridge; sisters, Rebecca Atkinson of Newnan, Charlotte Kuhn of Alvaton; brothers, Charles Strickland of Covington and Ernest Strickland of Alvaton; 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held July 22, in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Mullinax officiating. Interment Berea Cemetery

Linda Fay Schoonhoven Doster
Ms. Linda Fay Schoonhoven Doster, age 49, of Morrow, Georgia passed away July 18, 2008. Ms. Doster was born
in Fulton County. She was known for her big heart and love for people, she was always there and opened her home to all children, she enjoyed her grandchildren, and writing poetry.
Survivors are fiancé, Michael Bagley of Morrow; children, Steven Doster of Morrow, Christy Taylor (Josh) of McDonough, Adam Doster and Amanda Doster of Morrow; parents, Jan and Jean Schoonhoven of Piedmont, Alabama; grandchildren, Austin Shubert, Matthew Doster, Eli Taylor and Noah Zellers; siblings, Brenda Mitchell of McDonough, Kathy Cross of Pullman, Washington , and Jerome Schoonhoven of Piedmont, Alabama.
