Edna Earlene Thompson Bishop
Mrs. Edna Earlene Thompson Bishop, age 84, of McDonough, Georgia died September 1, 2008. Mrs. Bishop was born
in Bessemer, Alabama the daughter of the late Annie Kirby and Frank Lee Thompson. Mrs. Bishop was a homemaker who enjoyed her family, TV, dining out and cooking when she was able. She was preceded in death by her husband William H. Bishop Sr, brothers, William Frank Thompson and Stanley Lee Thompson.
Survivors include her children, Ann Ramey (Don) of Monticello and William H. Bishop Jr. (Linda) of McDonough; seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Medlin and Jerri Thompson of Birmingham, Alabama; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be Thursday, September 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Haisten at Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Haisten Funeral Home, 770-914-8833, in charge of arrangements.
Jim Murfield
Mr. Jim Murfield, age 54, of Newnan, Georgia, died August 14, 2008. He was born
October 16, 1953 at Fitzsimmons General Hospital in Denver, Colorado, the son of the late J.D. and Betty Murfield. After his graduation from high school in Bedford, Massachusetts, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in active duty for eight years at Elgin Air Force in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He continued to serve another ten years in the Air Force Reserves at Dobbins Air Force Base in Marietta where he attained the rank of Tech Sergeant. In the public sector, he worked as a field service and manufacturing engineer for 20 years for Monsanto and Alpha Technologies companies respectively. When he was healthy and well, Jim enjoyed sailing his catamaran sailboat, hiking in Stone Mountain, radio controlled models, and driving his Crossfire sports car. He enjoyed all kinds of music and had an extensive collection of artists’ CDs. He was a dutiful son, brother, and extremely generous person helping people in quiet yet significant ways throughout his life. Jim would love the thought of you raising a toast and a smile to memories of past good times.
Survivors include two sisters and three brothers, Janet (Lueck) Murfield of Elgin, Illinois, Jay Murfield of Overland Park, Kansas, Dean Murfield and Mike Murfield of McDonough, Nancy (McCarthy) Murfield of Chelmsford, Massachuetts; five nieces: Kelley Shannon, Aubrey Clay, Stephanie Crook, Jennifer and Jacqueline Boudreau; two nephews, Shane Shannon and David Crook; three grand nieces, Isabelle Anderson, Felicity Clay and Ava Boudreau.

Helen Thames
Mrs. Helen Thames, age 95, of McDonough, Georgia, died August 14, 2008. She was born
in College Park to the late David and Annie Bell Wright Wesley. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. Mrs. Thames was a fantastic cook, a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Thames was preceded in death by her husband, P.A. Thames, and grandsons, Scott L. Worthy and Wesley Thames.
Survivors include her children, Douglas A. Thames, Sr, and Claudia Lagasse, both of McDonough,and Brenda (Lamar) Worthy, of Lithonia; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Services were held August 19 at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Dr. Jack Bartlett officiating. Interment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Deborah Lea Coffey
Mrs. Deborah Lea Coffey, age 52, of Jackson, Georgia died August 15, 2008. She was born
June 3, 1956 in Atlanta.
Survivors include her children, Mandy Ellen Coffey, Jill C. and Robert Hohenstein, Craig and Melissa Coffey; parents, Robert and Elnora Hobbs; brother, Keith and Janice Hobbs; eight grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Carl Eugene McDaniel
Mr. Carl Eugene (Mac) McDaniel, age 76, of Stockbridge, Georgia died August 16, 2008. He was born
on November 27, 1931 to the late Electure Rogers McDaniel and James Carl McDaniel. Mr. McDaniel was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service. He enjoyed many hobbies, hunting, fishing, woodwork and building things and was a member of the Handyman Associates. He was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and brother-in-law and a friend to all. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott McDaniel.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Roberts McDaniel of Stockbridge; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Jimmy Owens of McDonough, daughter, Regina McDaniel of Stockbridge; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Glenda Sue Boggs
Mrs. Glenda Sue Boggs, age 53, of McDonough, Georgia died August 21, 2008. Glenda was born
in Clayton County to Nettie Lunsford Wood and the late Clinton E. Wood. She had been employed with Delta Airlines since 1981; was a member of Community Bible Church; and a Breast Cancer supporter.
Survivors include her husband of 22 years, J.R. Boggs of McDonough; mother, Nettie Wood of Morrow; numerous cousins.
Services were held August 24 from the Chapel of Community Bible Church with Rev. Brooks Everett officiating. Interment Sherwood Memorial Park. Leonita G. Collins
Mrs. Leonita G. Collins, age 75, of Hampton, Georgia died August 22, 2008. She was born
in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Leo and Golda Harrelson Greene. Mrs. Collins was retired from Delta Air Lines after 41 years of service and was a member of the Fayetteville Church of Christ. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Collins of Hampton; daughter, Karen (Louis) Holladay of Newnan; grandchildren, Trey (Heather) Holladay, Leah (Kevin) Lewis; great grandchildren, Landon and Hayden Holladay and Riley Lewis; step-children, Ken (Marcia) Collins and Paula Collins; step-grandchildren, Josh (Shannon) Collins; step-great-grandchild, Cayden Collins; brothers, Danny Greene, of Lathrop, Colorado, Jimmy Greene of Houston, Texas , Raymond Greene of Fairborn, Ohio; sister, Nan Conley of Tupelo, Mississippi; several nieces and nephews.
