AIKEN -- The Rev. Jessie T. Wiggins, 70, of 625 Shiloh Heights Road, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Bacon Chapel Fire Baptized Holiness Church, Johnston, with Bishop Nathaniel Jeremiah Roach officiating. Burial will be in Aiken Memorial Park.
Rev. Wiggins, a native of Saluda County, was a driver at the Savannah River Site. He was an ordained minister and the former pastor of Red Hill Fire Baptized Holiness Church, Wagener, Macedonia Fire Baptized Holiness Church, McCormick, Mount Sinai Fire Baptized Holiness Church, Ridge Spring, and Caldwell Chapel Fire Baptized Holiness Church, Augusta. He was a member of Bacon Chapel Fire Baptized Holiness Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie M. Wiggins; two daughters, Vera M. Walker, Johnston, and Mazie H. Wideman, Aiken; two sisters, Rosetta Barnes and Pauline Conner, both of Leesville; and nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be deacons of the church.
Friends may call at the residence or after 1 p.m. today at G.L. Brightharp and Sons Mortuary.

STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Mattie Perkins Taylor, 91, died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at Bulloch Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Joiner-Shepard Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Savannah.
Mrs. Taylor, a native of Statesboro, was a longtime Savannah resident. She was a homemaker and a member of Ardsley Park Baptist Church, Savannah.
Survivors include two sons, Ernest Taylor, Statesboro, and James Taylor, San Diego; and 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

THOMSON -- Mr. Johnnie Lee Ross, 53, of 717 Old Washington Road, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at McDuffie County Hospital.

Mr. Ross, a native of Wilkes County, was a former employee of United Technologies Automotive of Thomson and of Johnson Chevrolet of Thomson. He was a member of Whiteoak Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Moore Ross; two daughters, Angela Engram, Warrenton, and Carol Ross Benning, Thomson; a stepson, Carl McCord, Germany; two stepdaughters, Celeste Evette Dorsey and Lisa Ross, both of Thomson; four brothers, Jessie Lee Ross, Curtis Ross, Cary Ross Jr. and Gary Ross Sr., all of Thomson; seven sisters, Mary F. Winfrey, Susie M. Burnett, Rosie Heath, Maggie Jones, Mary Bell Ross, Amanda Rogers and Katie M. Cummings, all of Thomson; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be members of Avery Temple Lodge No. 38, Dearing.

Mr. William Stevens Lanier Sr., 88, of 2212 Terrace Road, died Friday, June 12, 1998, at St. Joseph Hospital.

Mr. Lanier, a native of Augusta, was a 1931 graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and a superintendent at Babcock-Wilcox. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Augusta. He was a member, elder and former Sunday school superintendent at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, William Stevens Lanier Jr., Augusta; a brother, James Fargo Lanier, Atlanta; two sisters, Constance Lanier Swearingen, Columbus, Ga., and Frances Lanier Whaley, Jacksonville, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
