Carolyn Sue Amburgy
Mrs. Carolyn Sue Amburgy, age 56, of McDonough, Georgia died September 18, 2008. She was born
in Mansfield, Ohio on April 17, 1952. Mrs. Amburgy was a member of Stockbridge Church of God of Prophecy and served as treasurer and webmaster at the church. She loved her church work and researching family genealogy. But, most of all she loved to spoil her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Trish Burns and mother, Pauline Bryant Nolen.
Survivors include her husband, Glenn W. Amburgy of McDonough; children, Becky (Robert) Burns, Jennifer (Rickey) Revell, Greg Amburgy; grandchildren, Maggie, Jesse, Carolyn, Bryant, Lisa, Rickey, Jr.; father, Gene Nolen; brothers, Woody Nolen, Cecil Nolen, Steve Nolen; sisters, Stella Dasher, Regina Powers, and Cindy Gaubatz.
Services were held September 20 at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Rev. Richard Bartlett officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Eddy Lee McDougald
Mr. Eddy Lee McDougald, age 58, of Forsyth, Georgia died September 18, 2008. Eddy was born
in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He attended McDonough Christian Church. Eddy was a loving son and uncle to his family, he was known for his outgoing personality, being the joker of the family, telling old stories and watching old movies. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee McDougald and a sister, Susan Diane Howell.
Survivors include his mother, Martha Campbell Patterson of Forsyth; niece Jennifer Whitaker of Forsyth; nephew, David Howell of North Carolina; great niece, Allison Summer Whitaker of Forsyth; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside services were held September 21 at Forest Lawn West Cemetery

Michael (Mike) Caldwell
Mr. Michael (Mike) Caldwell, age 56, of McDonough, Georgia died Saturday, Sep-tember 20, 2008. He was born
in Washington , D.C. to the late Jack Edward and Ronda Delores Doke Caldwell.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Caldwell of McDonough, children, Michael (Car-men) Caldwell, Jr. of Dacula, Kayla Caldwell and Tony Tims, both of McDonough; siblings, Charles, Dale, Debra and Angie; step-mother, Joan Howard; two grandchildren.

Mildred Elizabeth Hubbard Peurifoy
Mrs. Mildred Elizabeth Hubbard Peurifoy, age 86, of Mc-Donough, Georgia died September 20. Mrs. Peurifoy was born
in Fulton County, the daughter of the late Opal Barnett and Clarence David Hubbard. She was a faithful member of McDonough First Baptist Church and loved her church and church family. She enjoyed socializing with her friends and was known for her good sense of humor. Her husband, John Millard Peurifoy, Jr. and a son, Stephen Peurifoy preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, John M. Peurifoy III; grandson, Jarrett Stephen Peurifoy; and great granddaughter, Alyssa Peurifoy, all of McDonough.
Services were held September 23 at McDonough First Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Thomas officiating. Interment Haisten at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home, 770-914-8833, in charge of arrangements.
James P. Rushing
Dr. James P. Rushing, age 72, of Griffin, Georgia, died September 20, 2008. Dr. Rushing was born
March 27, 1936, in Bessemer, Alabama, to the late Selby K. Rushing and Mae Black Rushing. He served as pastor for twenty-eight years and was in evangelism for the past seventeen years. He also taught at West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, California, for three years. He was a member of King’s Way Baptist Church in Douglasville.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Betty Jean Harbin Rushing of Griffin; four daughters, Trish (David) McCoy, of McDonough, Pam (Rick) Nelson, of Gardendale, Alabama, Glory (Ron) Clapp of Griffin, and Christiana (Randy) Topping, of McDonough; one son, Jim (Lynda) Rushing, of Chesapeake, Virginia; eleven grandchildren; one sister, Jo Ann Como; three brothers, Selby K. “Bud” (Barbara) Rushing, Bobby (Carolyn) Rushing, and Richard (Sue) Rushing.
Services will be held at Peoples Baptist Church on September 24. Memorial services will be held at Lancaster Baptist Church in Lancaster, California at a later date. Darlene De Loach
Ms. Darlene De Loach, age 53, of Stockbridge, Georgia died September 22, 2008. She was born
in Atlanta on December 24, 1954. Ms. De Loach was a proud member of Salem Baptist Church and was an LPN for 24 years at DeKalb Medical Center. Recently, she worked at Henry County Senior Services as an LPN/Case Manager and previously was a cosmetologist. She loved shopping, gardening, yard work and going to Helen and Destin, Florida, where she enjoyed the Glass Bottom Boat Tours. She was the proud owner of Precious, her prize poodle. Most important to her was her family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Constance Selfridge De Loach.
Survivors include her father, Edward Thomas De Loach, Jr. of Ellenwood; siblings, Debra De Loach Jones of Senoia; Edward Thomas De Loach, III of Molena and Diane De Loach Caldwell of Powder Springs; several nieces and nephews.

Thomas Anthony Ellis
Mr. Thomas Anthony Ellis, age 56, of McDonough, Georgia died on September 22, 2008. He was born
June 14, 1952 to S. Tom Ellis and the late Ann Branan Ellis. He graduated from Henry County High School in 1970 and from the University of Georgia in 1974; before serving his country as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy from 1975 to 1979 following his commission from the U.S. Naval Academy Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island. He graduated from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University and was admitted to the Georgia Bar Association on June 21, 1982. He was a practicing attorney in McDonough for 26 years, specializing in real estate law. He was actively involved in Community Bible Church, facilitating classes and serving on the security team. He faced his recent challenge with courage, dignity, and profound sense of humor. Any difficult day was brightened by his grandson. He loved his daughters immeasurably and found strength and encouragement from his loyal friends, always keeping an optimistic attitude.
Survivors include his daughters, Robyn Ellis (Al) Vaughn of Monticello, Aubrey Ellis of Canton; grandson Jake Halen Vaughn; father S. Tom Ellis; sisters, Elaine Ellis (Jerry) Rouse and Mary Lynn Ellis (Ray) Lambert, both of McDonough; nieces Ansley and Sadie Lambert; nephew Rip Lambert; and his most special friend, Julie Kimsey.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 24, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 25 at 1:30 p.m. at Community Bible Church.
