GROVETOWN -- Mr. Darryl Eugene Gardenhire, 35, of 526 South Old Belair Road, died Tuesday, May 26, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Crawford Grove Baptist Church, Evans, with the Rev. Jackson Parks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mr. Gardenhire, a native of Columbia County, was a member of Crawford Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his parents, Willie Mae Gardenhire and Willie Joe Gardenhire; two brothers, Timmy Gardenhire and Jamie Gardenhire; and a sister, Tina Hampton.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Bright, Mike Dent, Walter Jones, Tommy McKinney, Jim Choke, Alfonso Maryland, Gary Williams and Ken Williams.

Friends may call at the residence.

Mr. Larry Griffin

WAYNESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Larry Griffin, 44, of 3614 Thompson Bridge Road, died Tuesday, May 26, 1998, at Burke County Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Red Hill Baptist Church, Alexander, with the Rev. Eddie Walker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mr. Griffin, a native of Burke County, was a graduate of Waynesboro High and Industrial School. He was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Griffin Jr. and Antoine Griffin, both of Waynesboro; two daughters, Paula Griffin and Jeanette Griffin, both of Waynesboro; his stepfather, James Levine, Waynesboro; and three brothers, Arthur Griffin, Waynesboro, Michael Levine, Arizona, and Paul Griffin, Augusta.

Pallbearers will be John F. Herrington, Stanley Carswell, Marvin Jones, Kenneth Jones and Merrit Jones.

Friends may call at the residence of Arthur Griffin, 458 Lover's Lane, or at Phinazee and Son Funeral home.

Mr. Lonnie Gunn

PORTERDALE, Ga. -- Mr. Lonnie O. Gunn, 72, of 7 Hazel St., died Friday, May 29, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Callaway Funeral Home, Union Point, with the Rev. James Hall officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Union Point.

Mr. Gunn, a native of Taliaferro County, had retired as a barber and barbershop owner. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby T. Gunn; a stepdaughter, Jeanne T. Richards, Porterdale; a brother, Joel Gunn, Montgomery, Ala.; a sister, Drue Willie Moon, Greensboro; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sibyl Lee

EAST DUBLIN, Ga. -- Mrs. Sibyl G. Lee, 80, died Thursday, May 28, 1998, at Shamrock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dublin.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at East Dublin Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Tipton officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Baptist Church cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Dexter.

Mrs. Lee, a native of Laurens County, S.C., was a homemaker and a member of East Dublin Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas E. Lee; four sons, Tommy J. Passmore, James E. Passmore, John S. Passmore and Gene Passmore, all of Dublin; four daughters, Sarah P. Williams, East Dublin, Nancy K. Birch, Rentz, Deborah Miller, Soperton, and Mary Ann Hightower, Dublin; two brothers, Roger J. Ussery, Milan, and Ray Ussery, Jackson; and 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Richard and Joyce Stanley Funeral Home, Dublin, is in charge of arrangements.

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Tyler Allen Lutot, infant son of Sean Gregory Lutot Sr. and Michelle Renee Smith Lutot of 660 Cherokee Drive, died Friday, May 29, 1998, at University Hospital, Augusta.

Funeral services will be held privately.

Additional survivors include three brothers, Branton Byrd, Jeremy Byrd and Ryan Hewitt, all of North Augusta; his maternal grandparents, Vernon and Linda Overstreet Smith, North Augusta; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Nancy Soper Lutot, Buffalo, N.Y.; and his maternal great-grandmother, Emmie Overstreet, Graniteville.

Mrs. Carrie Lynch

Mrs. Lynch, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of the Rountree Island Benevolent Society and Johnson Grove Benevolent Society. She was a member and past matron of the Daughters of Wadley Chapter 487. She was a member of Noah's Ark African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Survivors include her husband, Malcolm Lynch.

Pallbearers will be John Hudson, Olan Scott, Harold Billups, Jettsie Wilcher, Izell McGruder and Bernard Walker.

Honorary pallbearers will be stewards and deacons of the church.

Mr. Patrick Hugh Newsome, 95, of the Georgia War Veterans Home, died Friday, May 29, 1998.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Zion United Methodist Church cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Washington, Ga., with the Rev. Landon Carey officiating.

Mr. Newsome, a native of Wilkes County, Ga., had retired as a clerk. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church. He was a Little League umpire and coach and was a member of the Wilkes County Sports Hall of Fame.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Alex Dunnaway, Mike Sherrer, Hartrell Pate, Ed Burdette, Joe Griffin Jr. and Charles Drinkard.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hopkins Funeral Home, Washington.

Mrs. Sanders, a native of Barnwell County, was a homemaker and a member of Langley Church of God, where she was a member of the ladies' Bible class.

Survivors include five sons, Edwin Sanders and Terry Sanders, both of Bath, Verllis Sanders, San Jose, Calif., Ray Sanders, Kenly, N.C., and Danny Sanders, Alexandria, Ala.; two brothers, Ezra Hutto, Salley, and Loyal Hutto, Augusta; two sisters, Saleda Juhan, Salley, and Viola Green, Augusta; and 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Michael Sanders, Ladon Sanders, Mark Sanders, Gary Sanders, Jackie Ray Robinson and Timmy Sanders.

Mr. Terrell, a native of Jefferson County, was a master mechanic and owned Terrell Garage, Wrens. He was a member of Stone Springfield African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie Mae Terrell; two sons, George Terrell Jr., Columbus, and Garvin Lewis Terrell, Fort Bragg, N.C.; three daughters, Carolyn Farmer, College Park, Clementine Brown, Hephzibah, and Brenda Davis, Avera; five brothers, Willie James Terrell, Leotis Terrell and Cleophus Terrell, all of Avera, Robert Lewis Terrell, Augusta, and Welton Terrell, North Augusta; five sisters, Delphia Brown, Hollis, Long Island, N.Y., Jerrylene Bethea, Jamaica, N.Y., Clysree Brown, Washington, D.C., Lenora Brisbon, Darien, and Gwendolyn D. Terrell, Avera; and 10 grandchildren.

Survivors include five sons, Amyub Shakir, Kareem Shakir and Mohammad Beyah, all of Newark, N.J., and Fred Brookins and Marion Brookins, both of Sandersville; three daughters, Genetta Williams and Elizabeth Brookins, both of East Orange, N.J., and Katherine Christmas, Newark; and 45 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
