GRANITEVILLE -- Mr. Olin D. ``Bob" Franklin, 65, of 308 Main St., died Friday, May 15, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Gloverville, with the Rev. John Lawlor officiating. Burial will be in Graniteville cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mr. Franklin, a native of Langley, was retired from Graniteville Co. and was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, Aiken.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Woodward Franklin; one son, Richard ``Ricky" Franklin, Graniteville; two daughters, Pam McKee, Gloverville, and Dee Cofer, Wagener; one brother, Nolan C. ``Billy" Franklin, Pompano Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be members of Knights of Columbus.

Friends may call at the residence of Ricky Franklin, 214 Laurel Drive.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Napier Funeral Home.

Mr. Robert Jackson Jr.

Retiree

UNION POINT, Ga. -- Mr. Robert Glenn Jackson Jr., 79, of 1661 Rhodes St., died Friday, May 15, 1998, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Bethesda Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Olds officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mr. Jackson, a native of Greene County, was retired from Chipman-Union Manufacturing as a knitter and was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Walker Jackson; two sons, Wayne Jackson, Union Point, and Stan Jackson, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one daughter, Marsha Jackson Swann, Union Point; three sisters, Evelyn Jackson Webb, Woodville, Rebecca Jackson Deaton, Auburn, and Martha Jackson Harwell, Crawfordville; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ed Dingler, Olin Griffin, Kenneth Stewart, Pete Underwood, Ronnie Yearwood and Bud Tuggle.

Friends may call at the residence.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Callaway Funeral Home.

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Mr. Richard Thomas Kee, 65, of Ridge Road, died Monday, May 4, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John Baptist Church, Garysburg, N.C.. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mr. Kee, a native of Garysburg, was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict.

WARD, S.C. -- Mr. W.D. Koon, 77, of Route 1, died Friday, May 15, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Good Hope Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mr. Koon, a native of Saluda County, was retired from Burlington Industries, Johnston, and was a Navy veteran of World War II, where he served on the USS Franklin. He was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Amelia Black Koon; two sons, Toby Willie Koon, New Orleans, and Tony Kevin Koon, Ward; one daughter, Vickie Koon Holsomback Nye, Ward; one brother, Curtis B. Koon Jr., Newberry; three sisters, Callie Rae K. Berry, Saluda, Cloree K. Schumpert, Ward, and Jesse ``Jackie" K. Foy, Central; and seven grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two great-stepgrandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Ramey Funeral Home, Saluda.

Mr. Clinton Lovett

MILLEN, Ga. -- Mr. Clinton Lovett, 44, of 215 Old Waynesboro Road, died Thursday, May 14, 1998, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at First McCoy Baptist Church with the Rev. Judson Scott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mr. Lovett, a native of Jenkins County, was a butcher.

Survivors include one daughter, Clintandra Wadley, Millen; two brothers, McKinley Lovett, Chester, Pa., and Willie Lovett, Delaware; eight sisters, Jeanette Layton, Chester, Luvenia Johnson, Florida, Suzanna Pryor and Gladys Oliver, both of Pennsylvania, E. Brenda Davis and Claudia Jones, both of Delaware, Wilma Teen Walker, Augusta, and Ella Watson, Millen; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Washington, a native of Pulaski, was a homemaker and a member of Gracewood Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Martin Washington; five sons, Walter Vernon Washington, Terry Martin Washington, James Michael Washington and John Dewayne Washington, all of North Augusta, and Larry Tyler Washington, Gloverville; six brothers, Claude Whitsett, Bert Whitsett, Glenn Whitsett and Larry Whitsett, all of Alaska, and Wayne Whitsett and Bobby Whitsett, both of Florida; and 13 grandchildren.

Mr. Bailey, a native of Bulloch County, was a retired farmer and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school superintendent and adult Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Bailey; one son, Jack Bailey Jr., Statesboro; one daughter, Gwendolyn Wilson, Statesboro; one brother, James E. Bailey, Statesboro; four sisters, Annie Laura Wildenradt and Frankie Kruse, both of Statesboro, Dorothy Butterworth, Haughton, La., and Cleo Odum, Pooler; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Alvin Brant, James Godbee, Lannie Brant, Freddie Rathmann, Kenneth Rathmann and Archie Odum.

Mrs. Becker, a native of Stanley, N.D., was a retired nurse and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Richard V. Becker; three daughters, Linda Williams, North Augusta; Judy Jordan, La Quinta, Calif., and Jennie Wright, Dexter, N.M.; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Martha Burgess

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Mrs. Martha Hannah Backus Burgess, 101, died Friday, May 15, 1998.

Mrs. Burgess, a native of Vaughn, was retired as a teacher and co-owner of M.F. Burgess Store. She was a member of Mount Juliet United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Fleetwood Burgess, Fort Myers, Fla., and John Burgess, Orange, Texas; one daughter, Delloris Gillingham, North Augusta; and 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
