Mr. Arthur Tsikas

Mr. Arthur Michael Tsikas, 77, of 522 Scotts Way, died Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with the Rev. Nicholas Trivellas officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mr. Tsikas, a native of Argyrokastro Epirus, Albania, was retired as the owner of Art's Grill and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and a charter member of American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association.

Survivors include four daughters, Staci Deketeleare, Maria Greenway and Christina Petersen, all of Augusta, and Barbara Worthy, Hiawassee, Ga.

Pallbearers will be Harry Hamm, John Dalis, Nick Madias, Tony Magoulas, Chuck Ballas Jr., George Verenes, Nick Nichols and Paul Madias.

Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church or the AHEPA Scholarship Fund, 953 Telfair St., Augusta, GA 30901.

The family will receive friends at 7 p.m. today at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Telfair Street.

Ms. Frances Watkins

Retired teacher

LAURENS, S.C. -- Ms. Frances W. Watkins, 89, of the Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center, died Tuesday, April 28, 1998, at Laurens County Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Ms. Watkins, a native of Saluda County, had been a teacher in Saluda County, Aiken, Clinton and Columbia. She received a bachelor's degree from Erskine College, Due West, and was a member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, Mary Ann Tisdale, Palmetto, Fla., and Margaret Finch, Columbia.

Memorials may be made to Chestnut Hill Baptist Church, Route 2, Box 278, Saluda, SC 29138.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Ramey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Catherine Boles

Real estate agent

HINESVILLE, Ga. -- Mrs. Catherine Martez ``Marty" Boles, of 22 Cherry St., died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Augusta, with the Rev. Johnny R. Hatney officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Augusta.

Mrs. Boles, a native of Augusta, was a real estate agent with Eagle Realty Co. and was a member of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She was a 1982 graduate of Butler High School and a graduate of Kerr Business College and George Holtzman School of Real Estate.

The family said she was a very loving, compassionate and giving person. She always wore a smile.

Survivors include one son, Carlos Lee Boles II; her father, Robert Lee Williams Sr.; her mother, Margaret Holmes; her stepfather, Johnny Lee Holmes; her stepmother, Mary Williams; and one sister, Sabrina Rena Walker.

Pallbearers will be deacons of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

Friends may call at the residence of Johnny Lee and Margaret Holmes, 3125 Birdwell Road, Hephzibah, or Dent's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Barbara Byrd

AIKEN -- Mrs. Barbara Jean Byrd, 59, of 601 Outing Club Road, died Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Randall Branch Baptist Church with Wesley Guyton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mrs. Byrd, a native of Aiken County, was a member of Randall Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, John R. Byrd.

Friends may call at the residence, at 3 p.m. today at Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home or at 1 p.m. Saturday at Randall Branch Baptist Church.

Mr. Daniel Byrd Jr.

Army retiree

Mr. Daniel ``Dan" Jordan Byrd Jr., of 3204 Tate Road, died Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Belle Terrace Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Melvin Lowry officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Byrd, a native of North Little Rock, Ark., was retired as a command sergeant major in the Army. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Belle Terrace Presbyterian Church, where he served on the board of trustees.

Survivors include his wife, Edythe Hunter Byrd; two sons, Donald Jordon Byrd, Philadelphia, and Dana J. Byrd, Augusta; one daughter, Danice Mariney, Okinawa, Japan; one brother, Richard E. Byrd, Philadelphia; two sisters, Mary Jane Westbrook, Elgin, Texas, and Joyce Byrd Tyson, Potomac, Md.; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be members of the Army.

Friends may call at the residence or Williams Funeral Home.

Mr. Mose Cason

Machine operator

WRIGHTSVILLE, Ga. -- Mr. Mose Lee Cason, 64, of Route 1, Tucker Grove Church Road, died Wednesday, April 8, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at noon Saturday at Dock Kemp School with James Carrington officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Grove cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mr. Cason, a native of Johnson County, was a machine operator.

Survivors include his wife, Nora Cason; four sons, Mose Cason Jr. and Calvin Cason, both of Dublin, Vinson Cason, Wrightsville, and Stevie Cason, Atlanta; five daughters, Selena Cason, Shadonna Cason, Patricia Street and Cheryl Norris, all of Wrightsville, and Tricie Davis, Pompano Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Floyd Cason and Carther Cason Jr., both of Wrightsville; and three sisters, Lillie Jordan and Rose Atkins, both of Wrightsville, and Ella Roberson, Hallandale, Fla.

M.C. Smith Funeral Home, Sandersville, is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Laura Whitmore

Retired home health aide

HORNELL, N.Y. -- Ms. Laura I. Whitmore, 78, of 80 Steuben St., died Tuesday, April 28, 1998, at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Robertson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Arkport cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Arkport.

Ms. Whitmore, a native of Dansville, was a retired home health aide.

Survivors include three sons, Walter Whitmore, Augusta, Laurel Whitmore, Wichita Falls, Texas, and James Whitmore, Hornell; two daughters, Carol Adams, Rochester, and Marcia Andres, Avon; and 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
