Mr. Eugene Callaway

RAYLE, Ga. -- Mr. Eugene Mattox Callaway, 66, of 773 Callaway Road, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Turner cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery with the Revs. Ryan Seawright, Elvyn McDonald and Grady Mosely officiating.

Mr. Callaway, a native of Wilkes County, was a farmer and president of Callaway Farms Inc. He was a member of the Georgia Poultry Federation, the National Turkey Federation, the Georgia Angus Association, the Callaway Family Association and First United Methodist Church of Washington. He was an Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Avola Whitesell Callaway; two sons, Eugene Mattox Callaway and Blake Whitesell Callaway, both of Rayle; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Lewis Brown, Robert B. Lamar, Gene Pollock, Charlie Jordan, Frederick Leathers, Pete Kopecky, Steve Brown and David Derrick.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees and retirees of Callaway Farms.

Memorials may be made to First United Church of Washington or the American Cancer Society.

Hopkins Funeral Home, Washington, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Myrtle Clayton

Sardis Manufacturing Co. retiree

SARDIS, Ga. -- Mrs. Myrtle Ruth Messex Clayton, 76, of 12953 Highway 23, died Sunday, March 29, 1998, at Burke County Hospital, Waynesboro.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at East Burke Baptist Church with the Revs. Willard Godbee and Yonce Lively officiating. Burial will be in Burke Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro.

Mrs. Clayton, a native of Jenkins County, had retired from Sardis Manufacturing Co. She was a member of East Burke Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy C. Eastmead, Waynesboro; two brothers, Edgar Dick Messex, Savannah, and Thomas Massey, Perkins; two sisters, Mary Jackson, Sardis, and Martha Schaeffer, Valdosta; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Larry Jackson, Lyn Jackson, Timmy Jackson, Jason Jackson, Lenny Schaeffer and Bob Schindler.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.

Friends may call at the residence of Judy Eastmead, Waynesboro, or the residence of Mary Jackson, Sardis.

Crowe-Fields Funeral Home, Millen, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. S. Murray Dyson

Retired electrician

Mr. S. Murray Dyson, 76, died Sunday, March 29, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Poteet Funeral Home, Peach Orchard Road. Burial will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown.

Mr. Dyson had retired as an electrician. He was a member of IBEW Local Union No. 1579 and union's retirees club.

Survivors include two brothers, J.W. Dyson and Richard Dyson, both of Augusta; and three sisters, Odessa Fowler, Joyce Poirier and Betty Jean Coretti, all of Augusta.

Pallbearers will be Philip Coretti, Joel Coretti, Dexter Aquinde, Wayne Fowler, Tommy Dyson, Paul Dyson, Eddie Dyson, Matt Yow, Vernon Turner, Richard Fowler Jr., Michael Poirier, Gerald Cauthern, Lamar Durand, Robert Omar and Eric Dyson.

Honorary pallbearers will be members and retirees of IBEW Local Union No. 1579.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Sallie Harrison

BLACKVILLE, S.C. -- Ms. Sallie Harrison of 209 Izlar St., died Friday, March 27, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Macedonia Baptist Church. Burial will be in Blackville cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Ms. Harrison, a native of Barnwell County, was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Her family said she was the daughter of the late Roosevelt Harrison and Francis Sanders Harrison.

Survivors include three sons, Bryan Harrison and Tyrone Harrison, both of Blackville, and Eric Harrison, Augusta; a daughter, Stacey Harrison, Aiken; two brothers, Thad Harrison, Blackville, and Thomas Harrison, North; a sister, Josephine Kimbrough, Denver; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at Green's Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Robert Jolly

Pipe fitter

WILLISTON, S.C. -- Mr. Robert E. Jolly, 72, of White Pond Road, died Sunday, March 29, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Williams Family cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, White Pond Community, with the Rev. Frank Hunt officiating.

Mr. Jolly, a native of Bamberg, was a pipe fitter for Daniel Construction Co. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

His family said he was the widower of Olga Williams Jolly.

Survivors include two sons, Al Brannon, Atlanta, and James E. Brannon, Hopkinsville, Ky.; a daughter, Kathy B. Fox, Middleburg, Fla.; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence of Katie Shealy and Jonah Lane.

Mr. Larry Williams

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Mr. Larry D. Williams, 41, of 517 Greenbriar Road, died Sunday, March 29, 1998, at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fairfield Baptist Church, New Ellenton, with Gehazel Williams officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mr. Williams was a native of Aiken County.

Survivors include his wife, Janice C. Williams; a son, Terrence D. Williams, North Augusta; two daughters, Shawndreka L. Williams and Tanailyn N. Williams, both of North Augusta; his mother, Julie Mae Evans Williams, Aiken; two brothers, Paul Williams, Aiken, and Jerry Williams, Orange Park, Fla.; and two sisters, Sadie Samuels, Langley, and Loraine Sherman, Augusta.

Friends may call at the residence or at noon today at Cheatham Funeral Home, Langley.

Mrs. Beatrice Williamson

ADRIAN, Ga. -- Mrs. Beatrice Williamson, 100, of Georgia Highway 80 West Main Street, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. James Baptist Church with Dr. B.J. Fann officiating. Burial will be in Adrian Memorial cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mrs. Williamson, a native of Emanuel County, owned Wayside Cottage. She was member of St. James Baptist Church, the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia and National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. She was a charter member of the Adrian Community Club and Adrian Garden Club.

She is survived by five nieces and four nephews.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Williams, William Holliman, Darryl Jones, Patrick Wilcher, Jerry White and Don McKie.

Friends may call at the residence of Rosetta May.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. James Baptist Church.

Reno Tapley Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
