Mr. William Cohen Jr.

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Mr. William Paul Cohen Jr., of 413 Heil Drive, died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rowland Funeral Home with the Revs. Jerry Matthews and Robert Cohen and Gary C. Redding officiating. Burial will be in Pineview Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Cohen, a native of Union, was retired from operations at DuPont. He was a Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion. He was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara F. Cohen; two sons, Nicky Cohen, Columbia, and Robert Cohen, Trenton; a daughter, Deborah Phelps, Advance, N.C.; a brother, Harry Cohen, Spartanburg; two sisters, Ethel Jolly, Union, and Louise Eller, Lancaster; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Sammy Clark, Larry Phelps, James Pittman, Eddie Cohen, Lynn Grady and George Hensley.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of North Augusta Building Fund, 602 Georgia Ave., North Augusta, SC 29841.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rosa Cuthbert

Homemaker

Mrs. Rosa Lee Cuthbert, of 3613 London Blvd., died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at Beverly Manor Convalescent Center.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Second Hopeful Baptist Church, Keysville, Ga., with the Rev. T.L. Burson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mrs. Cuthbert, a native of Burke County, was a homemaker and a member of Second Hopeful Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Sally Johnson, Augusta; three stepdaughters, Josephine Sweet and Mildred Hughes, both of Statesboro, and Arthur Mae Lewis, Savannah; and eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Lindsey Fielding, Rodriquez Johnson, Ralph Johnson and Nathaniel Washington.

Friends may call at the residence.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Williams Funeral Home.

Mrs. Phyllis Dinterman

Licensed practical nurse

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Mrs. Phyllis C. Dinterman, 42, of 211 Hugh St., died Monday, March 16, 1998, in Augusta.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Rowland Funeral Home with the Revs. Jeff Hines and Michael Davenport officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown.

Mrs. Dinterman, a native of Augusta, was a licensed practical nurse with Burke County Hospital. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include one daughter, Amanda Dyches, Grovetown; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence ``Smitty" Smith, North Augusta; one brother, Donald Coursey, Columbia; a sister, Jeanie Henderson, Fort Smith, Ark.; her maternal grandfather, Jessie Young, Augusta; and her maternal grandmother, Eloise Williams, Augusta.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Coursey, Ben Young Jr., Wayne Flemming, Danny Sanders, Ben Young Sr. and Mark Young.

Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene, 2044 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, GA 30906.

Mr. Thomas Harveston

Retired carpenter

Mr. Thomas Franklin Harveston, 79, of 3111 Old Louisville Road, died Monday, March 16, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Platt's Funeral Home, Crawford Avenue, with the Rev. Herbert Chisenhall officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Harveston, a native of Charleston, S.C., was a retired carpenter. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Henry Bible Class.

Survivors include one son, Richard Allen Harveston, San Francisco; one daughter, Sandra H. Ivey, Evans; one brother, Frank A. Harveston Jr., Augusta; one sister, Evelyn H. Riffel, Buffalo, N.Y.; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jim Burdeshaw, Jim Gilmer, Chip Ivey, Gregory Steirheim, Paul Steirheim and Jim Thompson.

Mrs. Dorothy McCollum

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Mrs. Dorothy Mae McCollum, 78, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, in Alabaster.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Macedonia cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Montevallo, with the Rev. John Spain officiating.

Survivors include a son, John Lee Kirkland, Augusta; two daughters, Mary R. Allen, Montevallo, and Faye Allen Peek, Beech Island; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Rockco's Funeral Home, Montevallo.

Mrs. Ada Rodgers

Homemaker

EDGEFIELD, S.C. -- Mrs. Ada Salters Rodgers, 97, of 1 W.A. Reel Drive, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at Edgefield Health Care Center.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home with the Revs. Steve Chrisco and John B. Willis officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Lutheran cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Saluda County.

Mrs. Rodgers, a native of Saluda County, was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include a son, Horace C. Rodgers, Langley; two daughters, Lois R. Bradley, Aiken, and Mary R. Dickson, Kissimmee, Fla.; and 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Friends may call at the funeral home.

Miss Margaret Shivers

Retired teacher

WAYCROSS, Ga. -- Miss Margaret Shivers, 85, of Baptist Village, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Savannah.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Moxley Baptist Church, Moxley Community, with the Revs. Bobby Ritch and Joe Faulkner and Chaplain Hutcherson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Miss Shivers, a native of Jefferson County, had retired as a teacher from schools in Harlem, Ludowici, Toombs County, Midway and Bartow. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Waycross.

Survivors include five cousins, Maggie Heidt and Mary Ruth Heidt, both of Waynesboro, Nell Dickens Camp, Lake City, Fla., Randolph Dickens, Raleigh, N.C., and Sara Lanier, Waycross.

Pallbearers will be Richard Garrett, Joe Miller, Doris Goodson, Jack Gladin, O.W. Carter and Benjie Leaptrott.

Friends may call at 1 p.m. today at the church.

Smith Funeral Home, Wadley, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Walter Weinmeister

Military retiree

Mr. Walter Weinmeister, 77, died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, at his residence.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mark United Methodist Church, Martinez, with the Rev. Robert C. Gillespie officiating. Burial will be at a later time in Fort Logan National cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Denver.

Mr. Weinmeister, a native of Windsor, Colo., had retired from the Army as a postal worker and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 205 and Voiture 719. He was a Lutheran.

Poteet Funeral Home, Greene Street, is in charge of local arrangements.

Mr. James Wimberly

Board of Education retiree

MOUNT HOLLEY, N.J. -- Mr. James Early Wimberly, 99, of 223 Washington St., died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Zion Field Missionary Baptist Church, Aiken, with the Rev. Leonard O. Griffin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mr. Wimberly, a native of Aiken, was retired from the Mount Holley Board of Education. He was a member of Zion Field Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Willie James Wimberly, Camden; three daughters, Beatrice Rouse and Ruth A. Wimberly, both of Mount Holley, and Frances Dantzler, Philadelphia; and 23 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Friends may call at Cheatham Funeral Home, New Ellenton.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Allie Crump

Homemaker

Mrs. Allie Crump, 81, of 1430 Troupe St., died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, at Magnolia Hill of Augusta.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Platt's Funeral Home, Crawford Avenue, with the Rev. W. Sherrell Dunn officiating. Burial will be in West View cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mrs. Crump, a native of Shelby County, Ala., was a homemaker and a member of Curtis Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene Crump; two sons, Jerry Wayne Crump, Dearing, and Phillip Raymond Crump, Hephzibah; one daughter, Mary Louise Courson, Augusta; one sister, Monty Tate, Birmingham, Ala.; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
