Mrs. Ada Blount

WAYNESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Whit ``Ada" Blount, of 433 Pine St., died Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jim Knight officiating. Burial will be in Burke Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Blount, a native of McDuffie County, was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Waynesboro Garden Club and Waynesboro Women's Golf Association.

Survivors include one son, Whit Blount Jr., Charlotte, N.C.; four daughters, Nancy Blount Mills, Alpharetta, Bebe Blount, Tallahassee, Fla., Poly Blount Mills, Snellville, and Virginia Blount Gasink, Barrington, Ill.; one sister, Anise Davey Hogan, Thomson; and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be W.W. ``Buzz" Hankinson, Lon Hankinson, Sidney Cox, Roy Chalker Jr., Walter Voyles and Charlie Johnson.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 603, Waynesboro, GA 30830.

DeLoach Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Weldon Campbell

Insurance agent

GREER, S.C. -- Mr. Weldon Elrod Campbell, 79, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, at Allen Bennett Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Whitefield Baptist Church, Williamston, with the Rev. Ron Fousek officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

Mr. Campbell, a native of Anderson County, was a self-employed insurance agent and a member of Williams Road Baptist Church, Norcross. He was an Army veteran of World War II and had retired as a lieutenant colonel with the Army reserve. He was a mason and a member of the Lions Club. He was a graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College and Wofford College. He had been a past president of the Wofford College Alumni Association, Atlanta chapter.

Survivors include two sons, Victor C. Campbell, Greer, and Gary T. Campbell, Lawrenceville, Ga.; two brothers, Melvin P. Campbell, North Augusta, and Laffell Campbell, Jackson; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Wood Mortuary.

Mrs. Lucile Colston

Homemaker

KITE, Ga. -- Mrs. Lucile Thain Colston, 87, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, at Emanuel County Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Stanley Funeral Home, Wrightsville. Burial will be in Rehoboth Baptist Church cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mrs. Colston, a native of Candler County, was a homemaker and had been a teacher in Johnson County. She was a graduate of Georgia State College.

Survivors include one son, William L. Colston, Kite; two brothers, Mendes Thain and Willie Harold Thain, both of Metter; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Lee Davis

Construction worker

SYCAMORE, S.C. -- Mr. Lee Andy Davis, 32, of Route 2, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Miller Swamp Baptist Church with the Rev. Virgen Johnson Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mr. Davis, a native of Allendale County, was a construction worker and a member of Miller Swamp Baptist Church. He served in the National Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Carla Thomas Davis; one son, Kardell White, Fairfax; two daughters, Natarsha Thomas and Shana Thomas, both of Sycamore; his father, Levi Davis, Allendale; four brothers, Troy Bostrick and Dean Bostrick, both of Allendale, Larry Davis, Sycamore, and Dwanyda Davis, Milledgeville; eight sisters, Daine Hucterson and Beverly Brooker, both of Sycamore, Martha Bellmon, Lakesha Bostrick, Laura Bostrick, Chandra Bostrick and April Bostrick, all of Allendale, and Demitrus Wilson, Tampa, Fla.; his paternal grandmother, Pearlie Newton; and his maternal grandmother, Carrie Priester, Milledgeville.

Cave Funeral Service, Allendale, is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Gladys Fuller

Retired real estate agent

Ms. Gladys Bodeker Fuller, 80, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Westover Memorial Park with the Rev. Thomas Peyton officiating.

Ms. Fuller, a native of Aiken, was a retired real estate agent and a founder of Wayside Garden Club. She was a member or St. Mary On The Hill Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, Frederick B. Fuller, Columbia, and George L. Fuller Jr., Grovetown; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Byron Brown, Walker Mobley, Mike Philpot, John T. Walraven, Bill McCracken and Harry Vaiden.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Telfair Street.

Mrs. Frances Griffin

Schoolteacher

Mrs. Frances Branson Griffin, 54, of 205 Biltmore Drive, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Platt's Funeral Home, North Belair Road, with the Rev. Bill Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown.

Mrs. Griffin, a native of Charlotte, N.C., was a third-grade schoolteacher at Copeland Elementary School, where she was named teacher of the year several times. She was a graduate of Augusta State University and was a member of CSRA Road Angels.

Survivors include her husband, Randall B. Griffin; one son, Dale A. Rhein, Martinez; one daughter, Sherry L. Liberti, Columbia; her mother, Goldie Branson, Charleston, S.C.; two brothers, Richard Branson, Atlanta, and Bobby Branson, Charleston; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Billy Hill, Jimmy Deer, Quinton Davis, Derrick Bulloch, Travis Lester and Buck Buxton.

Mrs. Muriel Hill

Registered nurse

Mrs. Muriel Hill, of 2518 Weldon Drive, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Beulah Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Sam Davis officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hill, a native of Richmond County, was a registered nurse with Medical College of Georgia Hospital and a member of Beulah Grove Baptist Church. She was a 1973 graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School and a 1984 graduate of USC Aiken, where she received her bachelor of science degree in nursing.

Survivors include her husband, Carl D. Hill; her parents, Amos and Rosa Griffin, Augusta, and Lucille and James Brown, Chicago; three brothers, James Wallace Brown, Columbus, Ohio, Kenneth Brown, Chicago, and Michael Brown, Grand Rapids, Mich.; one sister, Pamela Davis, Augusta; and her paternal grandmother, Lorine Brown, Augusta.

Pallbearers will be James Capelle, Alphonso Graham, Karl Crawford, Joe Jackson, Rick Burke and Carl Hill.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Williams Funeral Home.

Mr. James Lamb

CSX Transportation retiree

Mr. James P. Lamb, 77, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, in Fayetteville.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Lamb, a longtime resident of Augusta, was retired from CSX Transportation, Central Southern Express Railroad, 42nd Rainbow Division. He was co-owner of Heartfelt Creations, an Army veteran of World War II and a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Lamb; three daughters, Patricia Gilpin and Linda Stanton, both of Jacksonville, and Carol Thurman, Leewood, Fla.; four brothers, Vernon L. Lamb, Edmond, Okla., H.V. Lamb, Savannah, A.L. Lamb, Martinez, and Robert Mike Lamb, Augusta; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Lass, Juan Lopez, Brian Banks, Tim Greene, John Teasley and Richard ``Dick" Gray.

Pallbearers will be members of the Masonic Lodge.

Friends may call at Poteet Funeral Home, Greene Street.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Walter Meadows

Restaurant owner

TAVARES, Fla. -- Mr. Walter D. ``Don" Meadows, 66, of 27-D El Red Drive, El Red Mobile Manor, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lake Ola Baptist Church, Lake Ola, with the Rev. Brian Harrison officiating.

Mr. Meadows, a native of Grantville, Ga., owned and operated a restaurant and was a member of Lake Ola Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Kaye Meadows; two sons, Richard Meadows and Gary Meadows; two stepsons, Richard Martin and Charles Waite; one daughter, Donna Hope; one stepdaughter, Linda Ergle; his parents, Walter and Sarah Meadows; one sister, Dora Anderson; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Charles Tudor

Medical College of Georgia retiree

BELVEDERE -- Mr. Charles Thomas Tudor, 90, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.

Graveside services were held Monday in Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Rick Busby officiating.

Mr. Tudor, a native of Augusta, was a retired laundry supervisor with the Medical College of Georgia.

Poteet Funeral Home, Greene Street, is in charge of arrangements.
