Mr. Charles W. Chapel Sr., 62, of Appling, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Platt's Funeral Home, North Belair Road. Burial will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown.
Mr. Chapel, a native of Memphis, Tenn., was retired from the Army as a major.
Survivors include two sons, Charles W. ``Chuck" Chapel Jr., Evans, and John Thomas Chapel, Cincinnati; his mother, Christine P. Chapel, Florence, Ala.; two sisters, Carolyn Haggard, Florence, and Donna Huskison, Fort Smith, Ark.; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be members of the Army honor guard.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Minnie Danish

Mrs. Minnie Cohen ``Mimi" Danish of 912 Heard Ave. died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Magnolia cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery with Rabbi Alex Greenbaum officiating.
Mrs. Danish, a native of Augusta, was a retired merchant and a member of Adas Yeshurun Synagogue. She was a member of Hadassah and daughters of Israel. She was a graduate of Tubman Girls School and co-owner of the Bee Hive, Children's Wear Store.
Survivors include two sons, Nelson A. Danish, Augusta, and Michael B. Danish, Aberdeen, Md.; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Sheldon B. Cohen, Steve Cohen, Bruce Cohen, Boris Hirsch, Henry M. Danish and Alan H. Danish.

Mr. Clinton Lovett, 80, of 1539 Essie McIntyre Blvd., died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998, at University Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at D'Antignac Street Church of Christ with Kevin Ellis officiating. Burial will be in South View cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.
Mr. Lovett, a native of Screven County, was a retired lab technician with Westinghouse, Savannah River Site. He was a member of Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Lovett; one stepson, Willie Edward Jenkins, Atlanta; one brother, Jason Lovett, Romulus, Mich.; two sisters, Alzatar Powell, Macon, and Alice Royal, Trenton, N.J.; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Virgil Wilkerson, Trent Mercer, Walter Crafton, Kevin Palmer, James Locklair, Bill Price, Heyward Aaron and Arthur Judson Gay Jr.

Mr. Robert Lee Safford Sr. of 2023 Willow St. died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Second Mount Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Thornton officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Safford, a native of Jenkins County, Ga., was retired from Borial Brick Co. as a mechanic. He was a member of Second Mount Moriah Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary A. Safford; 10 sons, Leroy Young, Henry Safford, L.T. Safford, Marion Safford, Arthur Safford, Robert Safford Jr., Ricky Safford, Carl Safford and Erick Safford, all of Augusta, and Jeffrey Safford, Fort Jackson, S.C.; two daughters, Emma Safford and Gloria Safford, both of Augusta; and 33 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Esther Creech Boyd, 87, of Route 1, Evans, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998, in Augusta.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home, North Augusta, with the Rev. Lawrence F. Kirk officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta.
Mrs. Boyd, a native of Metter, was a homemaker and a member of Abilene Baptist Church, where she was a member of Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was a graduate of New Orleans Seminary.
The family said she worked with her husband for 50 years all over the South in music and winning souls.
Survivors include two daughters, Geraldine M. Bailey, Shreveport, La., and Louise Creech Herrington Brown, Evans; one brother, John E. Creech, Augusta; one sister, Cora Lee Nance, Mount Pleasant, S.C.; and nine grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Thomas S. Kirk, James Robert Pratt, William Roland Bailey, Timothy Bass and John P. Nance.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Fidelis Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Groover, a native of Jenkins County, was a homemaker and a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church, where she was church mother.
Survivors include one son, Lonnie Groover, Fort Lauderdale; five daughters, Lessie Mae Gadson, Mary Ann Robinson, Wardell Groover, Lillie Mae Payton and Irene Darling, all of Fort Lauderdale; and 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

AIKEN -- Mr. Lisco Johnson, 55, of 129 Robinson Drive, died Monday, Feb. 9, 1998, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. James Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.
Mr. Johnson, a native of Aiken, was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and had been an employee of S & P Grading Co.
Survivors include his wife, Alberta Johnson; one son, Lisco Johnson Jr., Aiken; two brothers, Pernell Corbitt, Aiken, and Henry Harrison, Lithonia, Ga.; and two grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.

AIKEN -- Mr. Eddie ``Bubba" Cullum, 72, of 1128 Cooks Bridge Road, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Mr. Cullum, a native of Aiken County, was a retired bus driver with the Department of Transportation of the School Board of New York. He was a member of Rosa Hill Baptist Church, Wagener, where he was chairman of the trustee board and a member of the choir.
Survivors include his wife, Roxie M. Cullum; two sons, Sylvester Eric Cullum, New York, and Darryl Cornell Cullum, Aiken; one brother, James Cullum, New York; two sisters, Almeta McLean, Jamaica, N.Y., and Evetta Wade, Aiken; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Darryl Cullum, Latavish T. Cullum, Kelvin Wade, Sylvester Cullum, Marty Wade and Altemas Cullum.

Mr. Robinson, a native of Jenkins County, was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Robinson Jr. and Ollie James Robinson, both of New York; three daughters, Lottie Robinson Holman and Wardell Robinson Franklin, both of New York, and Jacqueline Robinson, Millen; four sisters, Pauline Jackson and Rosa Lee Banner, both of Millen, and Lavenia Robinson and Elouise Williams, both of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
