Mr. J. Harris Bledsoe, 80, of 1540 Shoreline Drive, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Poteet Funeral Home, Peach Orchard Road, with the Rev. Robert A. Boyd and Dr. Timothy E. Clontz officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Bledsoe, a native of Warrenville, had retired from Union Merchants and Manufacturing Co. as a truck driver after 50 years of service. He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lavada Prather Bledsoe; two brothers, Charlie Bledsoe, North Augusta, and Tracy Bledsoe, Warrenville; and two sisters, Vada Trotter, Greenwood, S.C., and Myrtis Cato, Warrenville.
Pallbearers will be deacons of Open Door Baptist Church.

HARLEM -- Mr. William M. ``Bill" Caraway, 68, of 3580 Radford-Gay Road S.E., died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center, Augusta.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bethesda Baptist Church with the Rev. Sonny Serigney officiating. Burial will be in South Harlem Memorial cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.
Mr. Caraway, a native of Johnson County, had lived in Harlem since 1979. He had retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation, and he was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lena Mae Caraway; a son, Ken Caraway, Harlem; two daughters, Joanne McGahee, Harlem, and Janice Morales, Martinez; his mother, Ethel Caraway, Grovetown; his stepmother, Emma Grace Caraway, East Dublin; three sisters, Barbara Poole, Grovetown, Jeanette Snell, Augusta, and Harritte Thomas, Dublin; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Snell, Gregg Poole, Justin Collins, David Collins, Jeff Kersey and Jason Morris.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Starling Funeral Home.

Mr. William Morton Carlton Jr., 67, of 3000 Cardinal Drive, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at his residence.
A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity-on-the-Hill United Methodist Church with Dr. David B. Jones officiating. Burial will be at a later time in Oconee Hill cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Athens, Ga.
Mr. Carlton, a native of Brunswick, Ga., was an accountant for Gilliam and Associates, Aiken. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean conflict and served in the Air Force as a pilot. He was a member of Trinity-on-the-Hill United Methodist Church and Forest Hills Golf Club.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly B. Carlton; three sons, William B. Carlton, West Point, N.Y., Thomas M. Carlton, Monroe, Ga., and David P. Carlton, Huntsville, Ala.; and six grandchildren.

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Mr. Minton Lee Hughes, 73, of 901 East Ave., died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at University Hospital, Augusta.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rowland Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert H. Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be in Pineview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hughes, a native of Augusta, had retired from American Cryogenics as distribution and production manager for the Southeast. He was an Army veteran of World War II, in which he served at the Battle of the Bulge and the invasion of Normandy. He was a member of Acacia Masonic Lodge, Jesse Lynch American Legion Post No. 71 and York Rite of Aiken. He was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Sample Hughes; three sons, James F. Grubb, North Augusta, Bob Heos, St. Louis, and John W. Hughes, Concord, N.C.; a daughter, Karen Sue Payne, Appling; three sisters, Billie Saunders and Betty Hopper, both of Waynesboro, Ga., and Bobbie Outley, Evans; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Hanson, Vadis Wylds Jr., Jason Grubbs, Harold Outley, Richard Hopper and Brian Grubbs.

Mr. Milledge Kyler Jr. of 1724 Cornell Drive died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.
The funeral will be at noon Monday at Beulah Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Sam Davis officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Kyler, a native of Burke County, had retired from Sweetheart Cup Co. after 23 years of service. He was a member and deacon of McKinney Branch Baptist Church.
His family said: Milledge was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who always put the interests of his family first.
Survivors include his wife, Thomasine H. Kyler; two sons, Milledge Kyler III, Augusta, and Thomas Kyler, Atlanta; three daughters, Dianne K. Sturgis, Gwendolyn L. Kyler and Deborah Hunt, all of Augusta; a brother, Robert L. Kyler Sr., Hephzibah; two sisters, Minnie Burnett and Mamie Hill, both of Augusta; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Ernest C. ``Mac" McDowell, 77, of 2012 Virginia Ave., died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown, with the Rev. Bill Hilley officiating.
Mr. McDowell, a native of Ripley, Miss., had retired as an automobile mechanic. He was an Army veteran of World War II and had retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Charles R. McDowell Sr., Appling, and Randy Wayne McDowell, Evans; two brothers, Hubert Pearl McDowell and LeRoy McDowell, both of Ripley; two sisters, Jane Huddleston, Ripley, and Almer Taylor, Faulkner, Miss.; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James McDowell, Chuck McDowell, Matt McDowell, Allen Smith, Roger Young and Marvin Sanders.

Mr. Morris, a native of Augusta, had retired. He was a member of Pierce Memorial Methodist Church.
His family said: He was a loving husband, father and a very special grandfather. He will be missed by all.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Driggers Morris; two sons, Milton A. Morris Jr. and Darrell E. Morris, both of Harlem; a daughter, Pamela O'Donald, Ringgold; a brother, Grady B. Morris, Augusta; a sister, Annie Mae Hattaway, Commerce; and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley, with the Rev. John Bolin officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens, Langley.
Mrs. Owens, a native of Hampton County, was a homemaker and a member of Clearwater First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Eleanor Bedenbaugh, North Augusta, and Evelyn Johnson, Knoxville, Tenn.; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
