Mrs. Elizabeth Bond

PORT ROYAL, S.C. -- Mrs. Elizabeth Fair Bond, 94, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998, at River Oaks Residential Care.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in St. Helena's Episcopal Church cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mrs. Bond, a native of Beech Island, was a retired teacher with Port Royal Elementary School. She was a graduate of Augusta Training School for Teachers, Augusta, and a member of St. Helena's Episcopal Church. She was a co-founder of First Beaufort Chamber of Commerce and helped organize the Credit Bureau of Greater Beaufort, which she operated until 1984.

Survivors include two sons, Stanley C. Bond and Henry N.P. Bond Jr., both of Beaufort; three sisters, Catherine Hannahan, Valdosta, Ga., Jane Eve Wilheit, Gainsville, Ga., and Laura Smyth, Denver; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Helena's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 1043, Beaufort, SC 29901.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the residence of Stanley C. Bond, 800 Lafayette St.

Copeland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Margaret Boatwright

Retired bookkeeper

AIKEN -- Mrs. Margaret Plunkett Boatwright, 74, of 190 Wheat Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998, at Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Solid Rock Baptist Church, with the Revs. Jack Cole and Ronnie Powell officiating. Burial will be in Aiken Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Boatwright, a native of Aiken County, was a retired bookkeeper with McCrory's Department Stores and a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Larson Dean Boatwright, Aiken, and David Anthony Boatwright, Columbia; one daughter, Wanda Imogene McIntosh, Sumter; one brother, Dewey Plunkett, Aiken; one sister, Lois Boatwright, Aiken; and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Larson Boatwright Jr., M.C. Matthews, Rodney Boatwright, Robert Dewey Plunkett Jr., Robert Marion McIntosh Jr., Emmett Scott Boatwright, Wallace Boatwright and Bruce Boatwright.

Honorary pallbearers will be officers from the Aiken Department of Public Safety.

Friends may call at the residence of Dean Boatwright, 186 Wheat Road.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Rivers Funeral Home.

Mr. John Bibbs Jr.

TRENTON, S.C. -- Mr. John ``BeBe" Bibbs Jr., 61, of 2320 Edgefield Road, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Mount Canaan Baptist Church with the Rev. G.L. Brightharp officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mr. Bibbs, a native of Edgefield County, was a custodian with the Edgefield County School District and a member of Science Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Cora B. Bibbs; three sons, John Louis Bibbs, Trenton, Kelvin Bibbs, Fayetteville, and Ollie Williams, Aiken; two daughters, Barbara Bibbs and Patricia Cade, both of Trenton; six brothers, Frank Bibbs and Stewart Bibbs, both of Trenton, Leroy Bibbs, Johnston, Willie R. Bibbs, Columbia, Clarence Bibbs, North Augusta, and James Bibbs, Fort Wayne, Washington; three sisters, Julia M. Moss, North Augusta, Maggielene Harrison, Edgefield, Mary A. Harrison, Trenton; and 11 grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence or G.L. Brightharp and Sons Mortuary, North Augusta.

Mr. Angelo Bono

Retired truck driver

SWAINSBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Angelo Joe Bono, 89, of U.S. Highway 1 S., died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at Emanuel Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Langell officiating. Burial will be in Swainsboro City cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mr. Bono, a native of New York, was a retired truck driver and a member of First United Methodist Church and New York Local No. 807.

Survivors include one son, Vito Bono, Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call at Tomlinson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lula Chamberlain

Homemaker

PLUM BRANCH, S.C. -- Mrs. Lula Jennings Chamberlain, 79, of Route 1, Pine Grove Road, died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, Parksville, with the Rev. E.M. Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Mount Lebanon cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mrs. Chamberlain, a native of McCormick County, was a homemaker and a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, where she served on the missionary society and the Washington Burial Aide Society.

Survivors include two sons, James Chamberlain, Plum Branch, and Henry Chamberlain, New Jersey; three daughters, Maggie R. Simpkins, Plum Branch, Julia Bennett, New Jersey, and Mary Chamberlain, North Little Rock, Ark.; three brothers, James Jennings, Henry Jennings and Charles Jennings, all of Plum Branch; and 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence, Walker Funeral Home, McCormick, on Sunday or 1 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Lula Collins

Homemaker

Mrs. Lula V. Collins, 71, of 614 Aiken St., died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. J.C. Trowell officiating. Burial will be in Walker Memorial Park.

Mrs. Collins, a native of Warren County, Ga., was a homemaker.

The family said she loved her family and had many special friends.

Survivors include one son, John T. Hobbs, Chicago; one daughter, Carolyn Robinson, Chicago; her mother, Ruby Moore; six sisters, Nellie Boware, Mary Harris, Alice Williams, Leola Richards and Norean Wheat, all of Augusta, and Leoma Green, Fort Valley, Ga.; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be members of her family.

Friends may call at the residence or C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home.

Dr. Samuel Duncan Jr.

Retired college professor

BELVEDERE -- Dr. Samuel Dunbar Duncan Jr., of 105 Spring Drive, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Platt's Funeral Home, Crawford Avenue, Augusta, with the Rev. Jacob Malone officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.

Dr. Duncan, a native of Millhaven, Ga., was a retired college professor with Augusta College. He had worked in the Department of Romance Language at the University of Georgia, the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, N.C., and Georgia Southern College. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a Baptist.

Survivors include two brothers, Perry L. ``Roy" Duncan, Harlem, and Ralph V. Duncan, Augusta; and one sister, Margaret Duncan Bargeron, Augusta.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Music Department, 3500 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30909.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lessie George

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -- Mrs. Lessie George, 84, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998, at Southland Nursing Home, Peachtree City.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Parkway Garden Chapel, Forest Park, with the Rev. Jeff McBurnett officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Davisboro City cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Davisboro.

Mrs. George, a native of Glascock County, was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Conley, Conley.

Survivors include two sons, Edwin Hoyt George, Hoschton, and Thomas Eugene George, Acworth; two daughters, Joanne Young, Fayetteville, and Patsy Van Ostran, Avon Park, Fla.; four brothers, Robert J. Marsh, Lilburn, Clinton Marsh, Macon, Andrew L. Marsh, Hardwick, and Roy L. Marsh, Mitchell; and 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Myra Graham

WAYCROSS, Ga. -- Mrs. Myra Elaine Graham, 48, died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Kenneth McMillian officiating. Burial will be Friday in Green Grove Church cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Newton.

Mrs. Graham, a native of Waycross, was a 1966 graduate of Center High School, a graduate of Fort Valley State University and received her master's degree in education from South Carolina State University. She was a member of Austin Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, where she served as a stewardess and director of Christian Youth Fellowship, and had been a Sunday school teacher and director of Christian education. She was an instructor at Ware County High School and a member of the Ware County Association of Educators, the Georgia Association of Educators, the National Education Association and the Georgia State Student Council Association. She had been a teacher at the Academy of Richmond County and was a distributor with Amway Products and Services.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth L. Graham, Waycross; one daughter, Kendrall L. Graham, Waycross; her father, Issac Ferrell Sr., Waycross; one brother, Issac Ferrell Jr., Warner Robins; two sisters, Cherianne F. Duncan and Deborah F. Collins, both of Augusta.

Friends may call at the residence, 1402 Common St.

Mrs. Sarah Grantham

BELVEDERE -- Mrs. Sarah Grantham, 69, of 400 Belvedere-Clearwater Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, at University Hospital, Augusta.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Liberty Hill Baptist Church cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Hartsville, with the Rev. Jim Beck officiating.

Mrs. Grantham, a native of Hartsville, was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Byerly Grantham; two sons, Eddie Grantham, Belvedere, and Wayne Grantham, Savannah; two brothers, Carroll Layton, Hartsville, and Charles Layton, Florence; one sister, Janie Mae Layton, Hartsville; and one grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Poteet Funeral Home, North Augusta.
