WASHINGTON, Ga. -- Mrs. Amelia Cortez Rivas, 39, of Happy Hollow Road, died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at her residence.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Resthaven cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery with the Rev. Manuel Rojas officiating.

Mrs. Rivas, a native of Mexico, was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Spanish Mission.

Survivors include her husband, Catarino Blanco Del Angel; one son, Catarino Blanco Del Angel Jr.; one daughter, Mercedes Blanco; her parents, Jesus Cortez Ruiz and Esperanza Rivas Delgado; two brothers, Jesus Cortez and Juan Cortez; five sisters, Gudalupe Cortez, Natividad Cortez, Griselda Cortez, Magdalena Cortez, Washington, and Amalia Cortez; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Catarino Blanco Del Angel, Jose Angel Flores, Catarino Blanco Del Angel Jr., Jose Angel Flores and Sostenes Paz.

Hopkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ida Silvey

Retired waitress

CLEARWATER -- Mrs. Ida Toole Silvey, 85, of Fairview Drive, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998, at Riverside Healthcare Center, Covington, Ga.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley, with the Revs. Gene Brown and Billy Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.

Mrs. Silvey, a native of Aiken County, was a waitress for 30 years at Town Tavern Restaurant, Augusta, and was a member of Langley Pentecostal Church, Langley.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Booth, Covington, and Miriam Hall, Gloverville; two brothers, Wilbur Toole, Langley, and Edward Toole, Clearwater; one sister, Mildred Finley, Langley; and nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dwight Hall, Tim Hall Jr., Charles Hall, Joey Huckabee, Tim Hall Sr. and Chris Moseley.

Friends may call at the residence of Miriam Hall, 130 Pine Hill Drive, Gloverville.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Robert Smith

Army retiree

HEPHZIBAH -- Mr. Robert Jerry Smith, 49, of 194 Oakhill Drive, died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, in Burke County.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Poteet Funeral Home, Peach Orchard Road.

Mr. Smith, a native of Jefferson County, was retired from the Army and was a Baptist. He was a maintenance employee with Gracewood State School and Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Kumcha Smith; three sons, Bobby T. Taylor, Hephzibah, Rusty J. Smith, Pelham, Ala., and Don Taylor, Augusta; one daughter, Sunny J. Smith, Mobile, Ala.; four brothers, Henry Wayne Smith and Clifton C. Smith, both of Birmingham, Ala., Johnny B. Smith, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Henry Clifton Smith Jr., Ranger; two sisters, Mary Frances Raney, Austin, Texas, and Judy Ann Rouse, Kimberly, Ala.; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be members of the U.S. Honor Guard.

Friends may call at the residence or the funeral home.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Vallie Wells

Homemaker

LOUISVILLE, Ga. -- Mrs. Vallie ``Duck" Brown Wells, 71, of 1188 Pine St., died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at New Hope African Methodist Episcopal Church, Grange, with the Revs. Robert Edwards, David Batts, Kenneth Davis and Perry Daniels officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mrs. Wells, a native of Jefferson County, was a homemaker and a member of New Hope African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she was a class leader and a missionary. She was a member of Louisville Senior Citizens, Morning Star Society and Community Prayer Band.

Survivors include two sons, Willie L. Wells and Robert Wells Jr., both of Louisville; two daughters, Bernice W. Fields, Warner Robins, and Wanda ``Kay" Wells, Louisville; two sisters, Picsola Neely and Clara Battle, both of Wrens; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Freeman Battle, Timothy Batts, William Gibbons, Anthony Thompson, William James Brown, Charles Brondus, Gregory Johnson, Henry Williams, Eugene Love and Leon Gibbons.

Honorary pallbearers will be stewards of New Hope African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Friends may call at the residence.

The family will receive friends until noon Thursday at Davis Funeral Home.

Mrs. Margaret Wittke

Mrs. Margaret J. Wittke, 101, of Jennings Health Care, died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Karl Dunker officiating. Burial will be in Beaufort National cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Beaufort, S.C.

Mrs. Wittke, a native of Decatur, Ill., was a homemaker and a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one son, Robert E. Wittke, Augusta; and two grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 402 Aumond Road, Augusta, GA 30909.

Friends may call at the residence of Robert E. Wittke, 437 Forest Hills Drive, Augusta.

Mr. Andrew Gould

SAVANNAH -- Mr. Andrew ``Slim" Gould died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Nicholsboro Baptist Church.

Mr. Gould was a native of Wilcox County.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Gould; and two sisters, Annie Gould Walker, Waynesboro, and Mary Battle, Americus.

Sidney Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Carter's Mortuary, Waynesboro, is in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Louise Faciane

WINDSOR, S.C. -- Mrs. Louise ``BeBe" Faciane, 78, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria, La.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Windsor First Baptist Church cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery with the Rev. Bruce Fox officiating.

Mrs. Faciane, a native of Statesboro, Ga., was a homemaker and a member of First United Pentecostal Church, Leesville, La.

Survivors include her husband, Douglas Faciane; two sons, James L. Barron and Grady Barron, both of Eureka; one sister, Mattie L. Widener, Windsor; and eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Folk Funeral Home, Williston, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mattie Dunbar

Mrs. Mattie Lue Beard Dunbar, of 2629 Oakland Ave., died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at Salem Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Greater Mount Canaan Baptist Church with the Rev. R.L. Davenport officiating. Burial will be in Walker Memorial Park.

Mrs. Dunbar, a native of Lincolnton, was a homemaker and a member of Greater Mount Canaan Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board.

The family said she was a very giving and loving mother to her family and to the community on the hill.

Survivors include three sons, William Dunbar and James Dunbar, both of Martinez, and Robert Dunbar, Augusta; four daughters, O'Neal Flowers and Marilyn Ferguson, both of Atlanta, Mattie Dixon, Hephzibah, and Lucille Avery, Augusta; four sisters, Ella Freeman, Lizzie Walton and Mozell Nero, all of Augusta, and Dorothy Albea, Lincolnton; and 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence or at Dent's Funeral Home.

Ms. Sara Cain

LANGLEY -- Ms. Sara L. Cain, 74, of 29 Gray St., died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Langley First Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Barker officiating. Burial will be in Langley cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Ms. Cain, a native of Burke County, Ga., was retired from Macy's and was a member of Langley First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Georgia Mae Miles and Dorothy ``Dot" Jones, both of Burnettown.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.
