Thomas Magnum Pauls
Thomas Magnum Pauls, age 19 of McDonough, Georgia, passed away February 3, 2009 in Ohio. He was born
in Stockbridge and was preceded in death by a grandmother, Mary Pauls. Thomas was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and received his GED from Griffin Tech, being third in his class. He enjoyed reading, drawing, and designing cars.
Survivors include his mother, Carolyn (Lonnie) Sheffield of Piqua, Ohio; father, Tommy (Penny) Pauls of Forsyth, GA; siblings, Rajah Sheffield, Heather Pauls, and Devon Sheffield; grandparents, Robert L. Pauls, Sr. of McDonough, Gary Elsass of Sidney, Ohio, Carol Batch of Oklahoma; aunts and uncles, Robert L. (Michelle) Pauls, Jr. of McDonough, Robin (David) Baker of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sherri Batch, Jim Elsass and Carl Davis all of Oklahoma; numerous cousins; adoptive grandparents, Mike (Jackie) Smith of McDonough.
Funeral services were February 8 at the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Smith officiated. Entombment followed at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Betty Gasses
Betty Gasses, age 90, of McDonough, Georgia passed away February 5, 2009. Miss Gasses was born
in Dover, New Hampshire, the daughter of the late Selma Deraney and Assad Gasses. She was part owner of Gasses Clothing Store in McDonough from 1934 – 1981. Miss Gasses was known for her work in the community, she was also known for her delicious cakes. Miss Gasses was a devoted member of St. James The Apostle Catholic Church, where she served in various areas of the church. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings.
Survivors are Tony and Jackie Gasses of Hampton, Michael and Martha Gasses of Stockbridge, Edna Norton of McDonough and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass for Betty Gasses was held February 9 at St. James The Apostle Catholic Church with Father John Murphy officiating. Interment followed at the McDonough City Cemetery. Ingrid Anneliza Annibale
Ingrid Anneliza Annibale of McDonough, Georgia passed away February 2, 2009. Ingrid Annibale was the beloved mother of three sons, Marcus, Anthony, and Curtis, and survived by her adoring husband, Joseph Annibale. Her greatest joy was visiting her grandchildren, little Joseph, James, Sarah, Sofia and baby Marco, who they will remember as their “Oma.” She was born
in Vienna, Austria and emigrated as a young girl from Germany at the end of WWII. She grew up in Alaska and later moved to northern Virginia where she enjoyed a career as a professional legal assistant/secretary for a large law firm in Washington D.C. and graduated with highest honors from Strayer College with a B. S. in Business. Ingrid enjoyed sports and especially tennis and was an avid reader. She was an adventurer and loved to travel and take cruises.

Howard Bryson
Howard (Gene) Bryson, 58, of Stockbridge, Georgia, passed away February 6, 2009. Mr. Bryson was born
in Ellijay, Georgia. Gene was employed by Premier Transportation for the last 20 years, where he served in the capacity as a General Manager before he passed away.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Bryson of Stockbridge; daughter, Jaclyn Turner of Stockbridge; sons, Ronnie Miller and Derek Miller of Stockbridge; Parents Harold and Betty Bryson of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Devan, Chase, Ansley and Emily; sisters, Gail Adams of Jonesboro, Shelia Coker of McDonough, and several nieces and nephews.

Katie Ruth Edgar
Katie Ruth Edgar, age 67, of McDonough, Georgia, formerly of Piedmont, Alabama, passed away February 6, 2009. Mrs. Edgar was born
in Huntsville, Alabama, the daughter of the late Mabel Parker and John William Edgar. She was a member of Roswell First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Edgar was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Forest Goss.
Survivors are her children, Ronald F. Goss, Jr. and Cynthia L. Goss Harding; several grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, John W. and Angela Edgar Jr; sister-in-law, Robbie LeCroy; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Mrs. Edgar was held February 10 at Piedmont Memorial Gardens in Piedmont, Alabama, with Rev. Harris Hand officiating. Doyal Edward Turman
Doyal Edward Turman, age 84, of McDonough, Georgia, passed away February 9, 2009. He was born
in Atlanta to the late Britton Archie and Oveta Baker Turman. He was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Frances McGuire and by sisters, Opal Quisenberry and Lorraine Smith. Doyal served his country in the United States Army and was retired from Consolidated Freightways. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Teamsters Union. He was a loving husband and provider and enjoyed camping and traveling.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Pauline Turman of McDonough; children, Barbara Bragg of Stockbridge, Steve Turman of Hartwell, Kevin Turman of Forest Park; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma Mobley of McDonough; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 12, at 2 p.m., from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rev. Pierce Mobley will officiate. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. R. Kevin Doyal, age 49, of Hampton, Georgia, passed away January16, 2009.
He is survived by his wife; Kathy, children; Raymond Doyal of Stockbridge, Sgt. Elizabeth (David) Eidson of Stockbridge, Melanie Doyal of Hampton, Holly (Jason) Crain of Hampton, mother; Joan Doyal of Hampton, brother; Kerry Doyal of Kingsport, Tennessee, sister; Kara Doyal Miller of Brooks, and 6 grandchildren. Phillip Wayne Byrd
Phillip Wayne Byrd, age 64, of Stockbridge, Georgia, passed away January 25, 2009. He was a resident of Stockbridge for the last 16 years. Mr. Byrd was born
in Prichard, Alabama, on June 11, 1944, to the late Rufus Wayne Byrd and Eva Mae (Kitchens) Williams. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jack Byrd, and sister, Patricia Benjamin. Phillip was a graduate of Passaic Valley Regional High School in Little Falls, New Jersey and Southwest Technical College of Mobile, Alabama, and was a veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard. He worked in the cable TV industry for 27 years. He was employed by Wometco Cable as a lead technician prior to becoming disabled 14 years ago due to heart disease. He was devoted to his family and friends and will always be remembered for his sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sherry Byrd; daughters, Angela Byrd, Marianna, Florida, Jessica Byrd, Stockbridge; 9 grandchildren; step-mother, Velma Byrd, Mobile, Alabama, who was so very dear to his heart; brothers, Ronald (Ramona) Byrd, Saddlebrook, New Jersey, Roger (Delaine) Byrd, Mobile, Alabama; daughter-in-law, Kristie Byrd, Charleston, West Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held on January 29 at The Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Tim Taylor officiating. The body was cremated. Phillip's remains will be scattered at sea at a later date in a private family service as per his wishes. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors.
