Mrs. Charlotte Gist, 82, of Evans, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998, at Monroe County Hospital in Alabama.

The funeral will be at noon today in Hopewell Baptist Church, Clarks Hill, S.C., with the Rev. Sam Middleton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mrs. Gist, a native of South Carolina, was a homemaker and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Ardry Gist; three brothers, Thomas Abrams, Leroy Abrams and Jessie C. Abrams, all of New York; three sisters, Ossie O. Hartfield, Evans, Bunice Rouse, Los Angeles, and Laura Abrams, Augusta; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be cousins and friends.

Friends may call at the residence of her sister, Ossie O. Hartfield, Box 369 Hartfield Sullivan Road, Evans, or at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at 11:45 a.m. today at the church.

Mr. Terrance Griffin

Farmer

GIRARD, Ga. -- Mr. Terrance Griffin, 20, of 165 Penn Lane, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1998, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Romles Pierce and Berry Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Thankful Baptist Church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mr. Griffin, a native of Richmond County, was a farmer and a machine operator with Globe Business Furniture. He was a member of Thankful Baptist Church, where he served on the usher board.

Survivors include one daughter, Sawiyah Griffin, Girard; his father, John W. Griffin, Girard; his mother, Edith Rogers, Girard; one brother, Terry Deon Griffin, Girard; one sister, Jessica Roberts, Girard; and one stepgrandmother, Arlene Burnett, Girard.

Pallbearers will be his uncles.

Friends may call at the residence or Phinazee and Son Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

Mr. Benjamin Guillebeau

T.W. Cullars Lumber Co. retiree

LINCOLNTON, Ga. -- Mr. Benjamin Franklin Guillebeau, 94, of 134 Guillebeau St., died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998, in Albany.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lincolnton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Craig Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Lincolnton City cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mr. Guillebeau, a lifelong resident of Lincolnton, had retired as manager and operator of T.W. Cullars Lumber Co. He was a member and former president of Lincoln County Athletic Booster Club and a former member of the Lincolnton Lions Club. He was a member of Lincolnton Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lelia Glaze Guillebeau; two sons, F. Dempsey Guillebeau, Albany, and Robert Thomas Guillebeau, Thomaston; two sisters, Alice G. Albea, Lincolnton, and Sarah G. Clary, Warrenton; and nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Marcy Remsen, Maurice Spires, James F. Mattison III, Wyatt Albea, Robert F. Guillebeau, Paul Prater, Charles Ware, Talmadge Reed, Jesse Norman, Dennis Mertins, Dan Pitts, William Cartledge, W.R. Pennington Sr., Larry Campbell and Charles Elam.

Mr. Derrick Holston

WILLISTON, S.C. -- Mr. Derrick Holston died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998, in Baltimore.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Jordan Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mr. Holston was a native of Barnwell County and a member of Jordan Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Derrick Holston Jr. and Taush Holston, both of Maryland; a daughter, Leyanna Holston, Maryland; his father, Calvin Holston, Williston; his mother, Edna Ford Holston, Jersey City, N.J.; five brothers, Calvin W. Holston, Wagener, Alvin A. Holston, Sumter, John D. Holston, Barnwell, Tracey Holston, New Jersey, and Jeremiah Holston, Blackville; and his grandmother, Susie M. Holston, Williston.

Mrs. Elizabeth Landing

MILLEN, Ga. -- Mrs. Elizabeth Schmitt Landing, 53, of 214 Ross Ave., died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998, at Jenkins County Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home with the Revs. David Buie and Karen Zeigler officiating. Burial will be in Millen cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mrs. Landing, a native of Screven County, was a production control employee with Metal Industries. She was a member of Little Horse Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Crawford Landing; two daughters, Linda Lancaster and Rhonda Howard, both of Millen; three sisters, Lillian Oglesby, Sylvania, and Carolyn Joyner and Catherine Blackburn, both of Sardis; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Mrs. Annie Johnson

Mrs. Annie Mae Johnson, of 703 E. Cedar St., died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at House of God with Danfus Jordan, elder, officiating. Burial will be in Southview cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson, a native of Edgefield County, S.C., was a retired cook with the Richmond County Board of Education. She was a member of the House of God, where she was a member of the usher board, deaconess board, missionary board and choir.

Survivors include three sons, Freddie Lee Clay, Eddie Lee Johnson and David Johnson, all of Augusta; five daughters, Beverly Johnson, Brenda Johnson, Virginia Johnson, Joyce Johnson and Velma Johnson, all of Augusta; one sister, Mary O'Bryant, Augusta; and 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Clay, Phillip Boyton, Billy Jenkins, Willie Dooley, Joe Green, Rueben McWilliam, Grover Tyler and Phillip Gibson.

STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Nettie Moore Marker, 93, of 405 S. College St., died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, at Statesboro Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Bonaventure cemetery" target="_blank">Cemetery, Savannah.

Mrs. Marker, a native of Bulloch County, was a homemaker and a member of Community Baptist Church, Brooklet.

Survivors include two daughters, Boneta Lane, Brooklet, and Johnnie Mae Brown, Savannah; one brother, Victor Kirkland, North Augusta; one sister, Pearl Screws, Claxton; and 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hodges-Turner Funeral Home.

Mr. Cody Watson Sr.

Air Force retiree

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Mr. Cody Usry Watson Sr., 82, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at South Highland Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Watson had retired as a lieutenant colonel from the Air Force and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Armed Forces Escape and Evasion Society and was a graduate of the Woodrow Wilson College of Law, Atlanta.

Survivors include on son, Cody Watson Jr., Birmingham; one daughter, Kittie Watson, Louisiana; two brothers, James F. Watson and Thomas E. Watson, both of Georgia; one sister, Catherine Barrow, Georgia; and one grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Presbyterian Frontier Fellowship, Nepal.

Abanks Mortuary and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Eloise Jones

Mrs. Eloise Jones, 63, of 4432 Elk Grove Trail, died Monday, Jan. 12, 1998, at University Hospital.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fellowship Baptist Church, Munnerlyn, Ga., with the Rev. Frank Sharpe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery" target="_blank">cemetery.

Mrs. Jones, a native of Burke County, Ga., was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, and had been a member of Bethlehem Missionary Church, Safety Harbor, Fla.

The family said she was a devoted Christian as well as a loving mother and friend to all who came in contact with her.

Survivors include her husband, Silas Jones, Clearwater; one son, Morris T. Roberson, Waynesboro, Ga.; three daughters, Shirley R. Skinner, Waynesboro, Annie J. Falana, Clearwater, and Hazel A. Mincey, Augusta; two brothers, Robert Johnson, Teaneck, Texas, and Elijah J. Holmes, El Paso, Texas; 10 sisters, Rosa L. Jenkins, Newark, N.J., Marie Walker, Virginia, Katie Malone, Hattie Bryant and Joan H. Smiley, all of New York, and Bessie J. McClellan, Linda H. Cratic, Juanita D. Boddie, Lindsay M. Jenkins and Lena Bell, all of Augusta; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Willie Mincey Jr., Daytron Mincey, Linwood Roberson, Clinton Roberson, Tommy Chance, John Wright, Rudy Falana II and Jerriel Jackson.

Alyssa, a native of Augusta, was a member of Jesus Always Moving Christian Center.

Survivors include her parents, Tanya Clark and Robert G. ``Bob" Matthews Jr., Hephzibah; three brothers, Aaron Matthews, Austin Matthews and Alan Matthews, all of Hephzibah; her paternal grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. Robert G. ``Bob" Matthews Sr., Hephzibah; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Myers Clark, Hephzibah; her paternal great-grandmother, Jennie McElmurray, Hephzibah; and her maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Culpepper, Augusta.
