Kenneth Clark Darley
Kenneth Clark Darley, age 66, of McDonough, Georgia, passed away February 15, 2009 at Henry Medical Center. Mr. Darley was born
in Bainbridge, the son of the late Eunice Bell Sellers and Thomas Watson Darley. He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. He was self employed as a Real Estate Investor. Ken was very artistic, he wrote poetry, enjoyed singing, using his computer, day trading in the stock market, and traveling. He was preceded in death by brothers, Nelson and Truman Darley.
Survivors are his wife, Patricia Cleveland Darley, son, Clark Darley; grandchildren, Travis, Kent and Olivia Darley all of McDonough; sister, Pat Rentz of Valdosta; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mr. Darley will be Wednesday, February 18, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Patterson officiating. Jerry D. Whitlock
Jerry D. Whitlock, age 55, of Stockbridge, Georgia, died February 15, 2009. He was born
in Atlanta, to the late Marvin William Whitlock and Frances Lucille Whitlock. Jerry was a member of Eagle's Landing First Baptist Church and was the Owner/Operator of EPM, Inc. in
Stockbridge. He was an avid fisherman and a man full of life who never met a stranger and loved to make others laugh. But most of all, Jerry was a devoted family man who adored his grandchildren, Macy and Alex.
Mr. Whitlock is survived by his wife, Rita Whitlock; mother, Frances Lucille Whitlock, Jonesboro; daughters and sons-in-law, Millie and Chris Batson, Griffin, Priscilla and Benjamin Hamiton, McDonough; grandchildren, Macy Batson and Alex Hamilton; siblings, Gloria Davis, McDonough, Cathy Howell, Greer, South Carolina; Rick Whitlock, Hampton; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 20, at Eagle's Landing First Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Whit-lock, Rev. William McLeod and Rev. Doug Nelms officiating. Interment will follow at Whitlock Family Cemetery

Betty Browning Chafin
Betty Browning Chafin, age 77, passed away February 16, 2009. Mrs. Chafin was born
July 24, 1931, in Rockdale County. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Louise White Browning and son, Michael Scott. She had a long and illustrious employment history with Henry County. Beginning as a clerk with the Henry County Board of Commissioners in 1967, Betty was appointed to the Hospital Authority as secretary and treasurer in 1973. In 1977 she resigned from her position with the county to put all her energies into the hospital authority, where she handled loan applications and funding for the construction of the $8 million hospital, becoming Henry General Hospital's first employee. In 1979 when the hospital opened, she was appointed Di-rector of Human Resources. She held this position until she retired in 1993. She was appointed to the hospital Board of Directors in 1996, where she served until 2000.
She is survived by her husband, Edgar Owen Chafin, Sr.; daughters Vicki (Ricky) Sparrow of McDonough, Joy (Don) Phillips of Powder Springs, son Kevin (Frances) Scott of McDonough, daughter, Jane (Mark) Gleason of Lawrenceville; son, Owen Chafin, Jr. of Loganville; grandchildren, Kandi Phillips, Jason (Tammy) Jones, Mandi (Doug) Peppers, Joni (David) Baumann, Jenifer Phillips, Angela (Dusty) Pace, Jessica Scott, Kayla
Scott, Nicole (Brian) Hackney, Cody Scott, Carrie Gleason, Blake Gleason, Kristy (Ryan) Moore, Stephanie Chafin, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

David P. Patillo, Sr.
David P. Patillo, Sr., age 89, of Carnesville, Georgia, died February 1, 2009. He was born
in Stockbridge, to the late John and Frances Miller Pattillo. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Alice Floyd Patillo, and step-mother, Ella-Mae Samtsel Duncan; and siblings, Rev. Willie Duncan, Annie Seibers Dun-can, Verty Mae Duncan and Geneva Ann Duncan.
Mr. Patillo is survived by his son, David P. Patillo, Jr., Snellville; daughter, Jenni L.Andrews, Carnesville; step-sons, Louie N. Wilson, Stockbridge, Larry F. Wilson, Stockbridge, and Donald Wilson, McDonough; step-daughter, Dianne Warren, McDonough; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, J. W. Pattillo, Buford, and Walter Pattillo, Stockbridge; and sister, Evelyn Pattillo Collier, Snellville.

Otis Lee Duncan
Otis Lee Duncan, age 73, of Locust Grove, Georgia, passed away February 1, 2009. Mr. Duncan was born
in Lake City, Tennessee, the son of the late Annie Seibers and Willie Duncan. Mr. Duncan retired from Ford Motor Company with 20 plus years as a paint inspector. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, wood work, traveling, hiking in the mountains, cruises, animals and children. He was a member of Peachtree Baptist Church in Senoia.
Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Billie Sue Duncan of Locust Grove; children, Theresa and Steven Williams of Sharpsburg, Gregory and Laura Duncan of Kennebunkport, Maine, and Timothy and Kendle Duncan of McDonough; brothers, Clarence Duncan of Hamilton, Ohio, Donnie and Audrey Duncan of Lake City, Tennessee, and Larry and Lynette Duncan of Knoxville, Tennessee; sisters, Dora Faye and Melvin Stewart of Blue Ridge, Bernard and Betty Toler, Wilma and Jack Elliott, Judy and Danny McCoy, Becky Bridges, Ruby and David Toler all of Lake City, Tennessee, and Christine White of Jefferson City, Tennessee; grandchildren, Brian and Marissa Ray, Erica and Russell Osborn, Jeremiah, Joshua, Tabetha, Ian, Timothy Jr. and Isabella Duncan; great-grandchild, Julia Ray.

Mary Catharine Duke Bartlett
Mary Catharine Duke Bartlett, age 91, of Locust Grove, Georgia, died February 1, 2009. She was born
in Carroll County on May 21, 1917 to Maudie Bell Webb and James Henry Duke, who preceded her in death. At the age of 16 she married
Robert Franklin Bartlett in Aragon and remained a loving wife until his death in 1970. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Morrow, Georgia. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and homemaker, with her specialty being cooking biscuits. She lived a very full and active life with many activities that she enjoyed. She loved caring for the children of many of her friends and family. She also enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, reading her Bible and looking for treasures at any and all yard sales she could find. Her love of travel and adventurous nature took her on her first white water rafting expedition with the Boy Scouts at the age of 70. She was preceded in death by 1 grandchild and 3 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James A. Duke, sisters, Myrl D. Reese, Sarah D. Johnson and son-in-law, Lewis A. Underwood.
She is survived by her children, Betty B. Underwood of Conyers, Charles F. (Janet) Bartlett of Stockbridge, Maynard E. Bartlett of Forest Park, Linda B. (Fred J.W.) Leonard of Riverdale, Alvin L. (Mary Alice) Bartlett of McDonough, Terry W. (Mary Ruth) Bartlett of Stockbridge, Martha B. (Tim) Griffin of Locust Grove, 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.

Douglas Robert Drummond, Sr.
Douglas Robert Drummond, Sr., age 66, of Rex, Georgia passed away February 3, 2009. Mr. Drummond was born
in Fulton County, the son of the late Naomi Moore and King Thomas Drummond. He was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Brandi Brown Foust. He retired from Eastern Airlines with 25 plus years of service. He was known for his love of his family and enjoying family gatherings, his sense of humor and Civil War History. He was a member of The Cathedral at Chapel Hill in Decatur. He served his country in the US Air Force.
Survivors are his wife, Rebecca Drummond of Rex; children, Doug Jr. of McDonough, Kenny and Debby Drummond of Locust Grove, Carole Armstrong of Newnan; step-children, Stephen Brown of Rex and David Brown of Ellenwood; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Patsy Harreman of Monroe, and several nieces and nephews.
