Silas E. Hightower
Silas E. Hightower, age 83, formerly of Henry County, Georgia, died December 25, 2009. He was born
in Henry County to the late John and Maude Hightower. Mr. Hightower retired as an accountant from the CSX Railroad after many years of service.
Mr. Hightower is survived by his daughter, Zoa Hightower and husband, Wayne Chapman, Snellville; sister, Lucille Gemes, Atlanta; 3 grandchildren, Nikki, Bobby, and Kory; a true and loyal friend, Connie Greene; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at The Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Chaplain Dave Riley officiating. JoAnn Lawrence Lewis
JoAnn Lawrence Lewis, age 72, of McDonough, Georgia, died December 26, 2009. She was born
in Copperhill, Tennessee, to the late Claude James Lawrence and Elizabeth Thomas Lawrence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Lewis, Sr., in 2000.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her daughters, Rita B. Lewis of Jackson; Cassandra Lewis of McDonough; son, Donald L. Lewis, Jr., of McDonough; 3 grandsons, Russ Hawkins of Atlanta; Mark Hawkins of Jackson; Lee Lewis of McDonough; 2 granddaughters, Ash-ton Lewis of McDonough; Deacon Robinson of Jackson; and 1 great-granddaughter, Faith Hawkins of Jackson; her sister, June Brackett of McDonough, and three nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m on Wednesday, December 30, at Crestlawn Cemetery

James H. Smith
James H. Smith, age 77, of McDonough, Georgia, died December 27, 2009. He was born
in Atlanta to the late Winton B. and Lois Godard Smith. He was preceded in death by his son, Jim Smith. Mr. Smith was a US Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean conflict. He worked for Pure Oil Company and American Oil Company and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Dolores Smith, McDonough; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Michael and Gaye Smith, Hoschton; sister, Peggy Kent, Mt. Judea, Alaska; brother and sister-in-law, Winton B. and Edith Smith, Cumming; 5 grandchildren, Kelley Brumbelow, Lisa Smith, Jamie Smith, Michaela Smith, and R. Michael Smith, Jr.; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

V. Johnny Leege, Jr.
V. Johnny Leege, Jr., age 78, of Locust Grove, Georgia, died December 27, 2009. He was born
in Peoria, Illinois to Virgil Johnny and Marian Parker Leege, Sr. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling, but most important to him was his family.
Mr. Leege is survived by his wife, Patsy Yvonne Leege, Locust Grove; children, Deanna Lord, Washington , Vicki Porter, Washington , Johnny Leege, Texas , Joe Leege, Locust Grove; step-children, Harold Wade, Locust Grove, Perry Wade, Locust Grove, Kenneth Wade, Locust Grove, Nicky Wade, Jonesboro, Ricky Wade, Locust Grove, Sharon Stewart, Locust Grove, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hedwig Augusta Riemenschneider Todebush
Hedwig Augusta Riemenschneider Todebush, age 95, of McDonough, Georgia, died December 28, 2009. Mrs. Todebush was born
in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Olga Hofmann and Charles Riemenschneider. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Frank Todebush and sisters, Freida Wood and Amanda Fraska.
Mrs. Todebush was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and traveling. She was a member of Saint Timothy Lutheran Church in Crystal River, Florida.
Survivors are her children, Richard Todebush of McDonough and Karen Otto of North Scituate, Rhode Island; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pearl Vople of Missouri and Olga Good of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

Nettie Belle Wood
Nettie Belle Wood, age 82 of McDonough, Georgia, formerly of Morrow, died December 7, 2009. Nettie was born
in Fayette County to the late Cliff Thomas and Annie Mae Chapman Lunsford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton E. Wood and her daughter, Glenda Wood Boggs. She was a member of the former Second Baptist Church of Forest Park and was retired from the City of Forest Park.
Survivors include her half sister, Carol Harris Morgan of Peachtree City; son-in-law, J.R. Boggs of McDonough; nieces and nephews.

Norman Curtis Heyward Sr.
Norman Curtis Heyward Sr., age 82, of Covington, Georgia, formerly of McDonough, died December 7, 2009. Mr. Heyward was born
in Aiken County, South Carolina, the son of the late Mary Wood and Walter Slayton Heyward. He was a member of Monticello Baptist Church and a former member of Salem Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the Deacons and helped to build the church. He worked in construction as a superintendent for 39 plus years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was known for his good sense of humor. He enjoyed horse trading, woodwork, fishing, and hunting. He was preceded in death by several siblings.
Survivors are his wife of 59-plus years, Louise Heyward of Coving-ton; sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Norman Curtis Heyward Jr. and Loresa of Rome, and Stephen Walter Heyward and Laura of McDonough; grandchildren, Dev-in Hill, Richie Heyward, Morgan Heyward and Jamie Heyward; sister, Joyce Keeney of Covington; brother, Morris Heyward of Evans, and numerous nieces and nephews.
