Bunny Brenda Hopson
Bunny Brenda Hopson, formerly Bunny Williams, age 57, of Stockbridge, Georgia, died February 27, 2009. She was born
in Athens on June 5, 1951 and spent the first 22 years of her life in Macon. She was preceded in death by her father, Walton Edwin Butts, Jr.; granddaughter, Danni Moll; grandmother, Edith Butts; brother, Buddy Butts; and aunt, Esther Wilson. Ms. Hopson was a member of Community Bible Church. She was loved by her coworkers at Bell South and Coldwell Banker-Bullard Realty. She loved spending time with her two cats, Bee-Bee and Taffy and was a faithful and loving granddaughter to Edith and niece to Esther, who both cared for her and loved her dearly. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, companion and friend. Most important to her was time spent with her children.
Ms. Hopson is survived by her mother, Patricia Russell, Macon; son, Peyton Lee (Kathleen) Hopson, Jacksonville, Florida; daughter, Adrian Nichole (Tim) Moll, Stockbridge; long-time companion, Edward Beard, Locust Grove; sisters, Elizabeth Chamblee, Macon, and Allyson Russsell-Blair, Marietta; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held on Sunday, March 1, at the Chapel of Community Bible Church with Rev. Brooks Everett officiating. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors.
Martha Louise Hughes
Martha Louise Hughes, age 87, of McDonough, Georgia, died February 27, 2009. She was born
in Atlanta to the late Charlie C. and Thadie Ann Knight Hornbuckle.
Mrs. Hughes is survived by husband, James M. Hughes and his daughter, Mary Ann Mayer, several granddaughters, grandsons, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on March 2 at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Dr. W. Bryan Lee and Rev. Robert Willy officiating. Interment followed at Sherwood Memorial Park. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors.
Martin Arias
Martin Arias, age 78, of McDonough, Georgia, died February 27, 2009. He was born
in St. Helena, California, in the Napa Valley, to the late Joseph and Inez Uriarte Arias. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Arias.
Martin enjoyed photography, woodworking, traveling and people. He was an avid computer enthusiast and mentor at McDonough Elementary School. He was a member of McDonough First United Methodist Church, where he served as current office manager, and attended the Searchers Sunday School Class. Mr. Arias began his career as a traffic engineer with Nevada Bell and retired after 37 years as a management instructor with BellSouth. Most important to him were God and family.
Mr. Arias is survived by his wife, Elaine Arias, McDonough; sons, Mitch Arias, Chris Arias, both of Cumming, Zack Arias of Decatur; daughter, Stephanie Neal of McDonough; 12 grandchildren, James, Elise, Lauren, Grayson, GiGi, Maggie, Caleb, Joshua, Phoenix, Clark, Emmaline, Aedon; sister, Inez Mancuso of Redding, California; brother, Alfeo Dal Favero, of Rocklin, California; several nieces and nephews.

Mary Floyd Carter
Mary Floyd Carter, age 91, of Hampton, Georgia, passed away February 28, 2009. Mrs. Carter was born
in Henry County; the daughter of the late Minnie Ellen Conkle and Willie Clarence Floyd. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Carter; and a brother, Willie Grady Floyd. Mrs. Carter, better known to her family as Mother, Mimi, and Aunt May, was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed her family, quilting, flower gardening, fishing, reading, crossword puzzles and shopping the flea markets. Mrs. Carter was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Tommy Roy of Hampton; grandsons and their spouses, William and Tiffany Roy of Hampton, Johnny Roy of Hampton, Matthew Roy of Stockbridge, and Andrew and Megan Roy of McDonough; great-grandsons, Ethan and Noah Roy; brother, Sanders and wife, Dorothy Floyd of Hampton; nieces, Sara Ellen and Wayne Head, Jean and Pete Fransen, Robin and Todd Trent, Nancy Phillips; nephews, Tim and Carol Floyd and Mike and Melainie Floyd.
Funeral services for Mrs. Carter were held March 2 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Henderson officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Margaret Moseley Bowen
Margaret Moseley Bowen, age 82, of Stockbridge, Georgia, passed away on February 17, 2009. Mrs. Bowen was a member of Stockbridge First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children Rita Puckett, David Bowen, grandchildren; Danny, Richard, Gary, Lisa, Brenda, Donald, Mike, Wesley, Rodney, and Joseph; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Pilgram and Carolyn White; brother, Henry Moseley; and several nieces and nephews.

Fred Johnson Price
Fred Johnson Price, age 93 of McDonough, Georgia, passed a-way February 19, 2009. He was born
in Henry County to the late James Robert Price, Sr. and Emma Orie Johnson Price. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Ann Price and by siblings, Flossie Newell, Lois Brodecki, Bill Price and J.R. Price, Jr. He was a 1935 graduate of McDonough High School and was retired from the Railway Ex-press Agency. Fred was a member of McDonough First Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was a volunteer at Henry Medical Center for 21 years and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Christine Price of McDonough; children, Brenda (Chris) Mierkey of Warner Ro-bins, Gail (Larry) Meadows of Asheville, North Carolina, Lin (Barry) Carter of Macon; grandchildren, Holly, Jessica, Jeffrey, Allison, Lee Ellen; great grand children, Dakota, Logan, Thomas, Joseph; brothers, Ezra Price of McDonough, P.W. Price of Stockbridge; sister, Kathryn Gorman of McDonough.
Funeral services were held February 21 at McDonough First Baptist Church, Dr. Charles Thomas and Rev. Dan McKay officiating. Interment followed at Locust Grove Cemetery. Michael Owen Hightower
Michael Owen Hightower, age 52, of McDonough, Georgia, passed away February 19, 2009. He was born
in Atlanta to the late William A. Hightower, Sr. and Edythe Owen Hightower Russell. Mike was the principal at Rock Spring Elementary School in Henry County and served on the Henry County Planning/Zon-ing Advisory Board. He had Bachelor, Masters and Educa-tional Leadership degrees from the University of Georgia.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Julie Upchurch Hightower and children, Clint and Alison Foster. He is also survived by brother, Bill (Denise) Hightower and their children, Trey High-tower, Christy (Mark) Mortimer and a great nephew, Logan; brother, Brad (Teri) Hightower and their daughter, Ginger, all of McDonough.
