Leavy Chafin
Services for Leavy Chafin will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hart's Mortuary with burial in Macon Memorial Park. Chafin, 78, died Monday, May 8, 2000. He served with the 385th AA Battalion during World War II and was retired from Robins Air Force Base after 43 years. He was a member of Mickey Fuller Lodge, Scottish Rite Temple and Al Sihah Temple. He was a member, elder and trustee of East Macon United Methodist Church, where he served on pastor's parish relationship committee.
Survivors include his children, Dianne Damron of Byron and Denise Nowell, both of Sarasota, Fla.; brothers, Alvie Chafin of Macon and Leland Chafin of Hawkinsville; and four grandchildren.
Family will be at 5155 Houser's Mill Road, Byron. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Macon United Methodist Church, 424 Church St., Macon 31217.
Bennie Chappell
DRY BRANCH - Services for Bennie L. Chappell will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Stone Creek Baptist Church, Twiggs County, with burial in the church cemetery. Chappell, 93, died Sunday, May 7, 2000. The widower of Bertha Stephens Chappell, he was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his son, Robert Chappell of Macon; sisters and brother Lillian Stephens, Willie O. Hill, Carrie Emory, Gladys Anderson, Josephine Willmore and Villina Williams, all of Twiggs County, and James Fitzpatrick; 16 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Hutchings Funeral Home, Macon, and will be at 2024 Joe Brown Drive.
Brunell Cox
MIDVILLE - Services for Brunell Johnson Cox will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hendley, Rountree and Powell Funeral Home, Swainsboro, with burial in Lewis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Jenkins County. Cox, 81, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000. She was a seamstress, retired from Carter Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Garfield Community Club. She attended Lewis Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Roxanne Cox of Thomson; and sisters Irene Joiner of Midville and Louise Lane of Millen.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home and will be at 2316 Old Savannah Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lewis Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Ruby Lee Lane, 4167 Lane Road, Millen 30442.
O.E. Hall
CORDELE - Services for O.E. Hall will be at 2 p.m. today in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Hall, 77, died Monday, May 8, 2000. He was a retired self-employed television repairman.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth W. Hall; and sisters Eva Brantley and Nina Jane Dillard, both of Cordele.

Thelma Harrison
EASTMAN - Services for Thelma F. Harrison will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Bowers Cemetery. Harrison, 75, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000. The widow of H.C. Harrison, she was a retired legal secretary. She was a member of Empire Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Billie Owens of Cochran; and grandson, Jeffrey Owens of Byron.

Robert Hicks
BRADENTON, Fla. - Services for Robert S. Hicks will be held later at Skyway Memorial Gardens. Hicks, 74, died Friday, May 5, 2000. He was a tool and die machinist, retired from General Motors.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Hicks; and sisters and brother Ruth Featherman and Mary Swope, both of Pontiac, Mich., Esther Rice of Springhill, Fla., and Earl Hicks of Harrisburg, Ill.

Thomas Hooper
Services for Thomas Bertron Hooper will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Holsey Temple CME Church with burial in Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. Hooper, 90, died Saturday, May 6, 2000. He was a claims adjuster, retired from Atlanta Life Insurance Co. A community and political activist, he was a member of the Morehouse College Alumni chapter, Homosophian Civic Club and the Democratic Party.

She was a former member of the Bonaire Home Economics Club and volunteer for the Crisis Hotline and Bonaire Elementary School library. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include her children Frank Jackson of Bonaire, Priscilla Clement of Warner Robins, Carol Moltz of Byron and Janine Jackson of Kathleen; brothers and sister John Joyce of Arizona, Robert Joyce of Connecticut and Kathryn Boone of Bonaire; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Maddox; children Paul Maddox of Eastman and Carl Maddox of Cochran; stepchildren Ronnie Stone and Michael Crenshaw, both of Eastman; sister and brother Sara White of Gresston and Bobby Maddox of Eastman; and two grandchildren.

Hubert Payne
BUTLER - Services for Hubert Payne will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Payne, 88, died Monday, May 8, 2000. A lifelong Taylor County resident, he was the retired owner of Payne Motor Co. in Butler. He was a retired farmer and former councilman for the city of Butler for many years.
Survivors include his daughter, Nina P. Jarrell of Butler; sister, Catherine P. Giles of Butler; and two grandchildren.

Lamar Price
Jones COUNTY - Services for Lamar Brinson Price will be at 11 a.m. today in Bridges Funeral Home, Gray, with burial in Cedar Ridge Cemetery. Price, 59, died Monday, May 8, 2000. He was son of the late Lamar C. Price and was the owner of Price Trucking.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. Price; children Tannie Schenk of Arab, Ala., and Maudie Price, Keith Price and Tim Price, all of Jones County; mother, Helen Thigpen of Wadley; sisters, Helen Long of Martinez, Barbara Greene of Swainsboro and Connie Upton of Wadley; and three grandchildren.
