Earl Pollard Popham
Earl Pollard Popham, age 83, of McDonough, Georgia, passed away March 2, 2009. He was born
in Roswell to the late Earnest Ott and Minnie Mae Ferrell Popham. He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and was a retired truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Marie King Popham; children, Mitchell C. Popham, Susan M. White, Lynn P. Najjar; grandsons, Shane M. White and Brandon S. White; five great grandchildren; siblings, Rachel Page, Bob Popham, Charles Popham, Gene Popham, Sara Nicholson, and Rev. Raymond Popham.

Wallace Eugene Tomlin
Wallace Eugene “Gene” Tomlin, age 74, of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away March 3, 2009. Mr. Tomlin was born
in Clayton County to the late Samuel Rufus and Kansas Vallie Holloway Tomlin. He was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Nora Belle Head, Zimmie Bailey, Alice Holder, Bill, David and Robert Tomlin. He served in the National Guard, was a member of the Griffin Masonic Lodge and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Barbara Tomlin of Jonesboro; children, Randy (Dorothy) Tomlin of Paulding County, Terry and Larry Tomlin, both of Jonesboro; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Cole of McDonough and Juanita Schoolcraft of Locust Grove; numerous nieces and nephews.

Hazel Geneva Morrell
Hazel Geneva Morrell, age 84, of Conyers, Georgia, passed away March 4, 2009. Mrs. Morrell was born
in Forney, Alabama, the daughter of the late Clidia Dell Burgess and Elisha Garrison Garrett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Morrell and all eleven of her siblings. Mrs. Morrell was a devoted homemaker, who enjoyed being with her family and loving her grandchildren and great grandson. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Atlanta. Mrs. Morrell was known for her good cooking and gardening.
Survivors are her children; Terry Morrell (Janice) of McDonough, Don Morrell (Cathy) of Douglasville and Darrell Morrell of Atlanta; grandchildren, Toni Hill (Jonathan) of Covington, Christie Leveille (Neal) of Columbus; Kati Morrell of Atlanta; great-grandson, Tristen Hill of Covington.

Carolyn Iris Sanders Foxworth
Carolyn Iris Sanders Foxworth, age 83, of McDonough, Georgia, passed away March 6, 2009. Ms. Foxworth was born
in Pelzer, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Mattie Thompson and Ernest Sanders. She enjoyed spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren, cooking, reading, dancing and bingo.
Survivors are her children; Durward Foxworth (Susan) of McDonough, Kerry Foxworth (Fran) of McDonough and Janet Johnson McCure of Macon; sister, Edna Hall of Anderson, South Carolina; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Ms. Foxworth were held March 9 at the Stockbridge Church of Jesus Christ Latter -Day Saints, with Baron Carson officiating. Interment followed at Pine Lawn Cemetery

James Thomas Cook
James Thomas “Tommy” Cook, age 60, of Jenkinsburg, Georgia, passed away March 6, 2009. Mr. Cook was born
in Fulton County. He was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Cook, and sisters, Patricia and Maxine. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, camping, and farming. Mr. Cook re-tired from Ford Motor Company with 27 plus years of service and he served his country in the U. S. Army in Vietnam. Mr. Cook was a devoted member of Peoples Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife of 41 years, Jimmie Ruth Kuhn Cook of Jenkinsburg, children, Melanie Stallings (Michael) of Jenkinsburg, Jared Cook (Becky), Ashley Cook (Joan) and Mere-dith St. Cyr (Sam), all of Locust Grove; mother, Alice McWaters of Jackson; grandchildren, Brittany, Haley, Katelyn, Zachary, Madelyn, Avery, Jared Jr., Landon, Meagan, Sara, and Lindsey; brother, Jeff, sisters, Virginia and Brenda; numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances Thompson Lewis
Frances Thompson Lewis, 83, of Stockbridge, Georgia, passed away March 7, 2009. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, C.M. Lewis, Jr. and a son, Charles Lewis.
She is survived by son and daughter in-law Gerald & Deb-bie Lewis, daughter and son in-law Lourie & Leslie Willard, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and her sister, Elizabeth Thomas.
A graveside service was held March 10 at Fairview Memorial Gardens with Evangelist David Decker officiating. Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel.
Gregory Ryan Gilliam
Gregory Ryan Gilliam, age 22, of McDonough, Georgia passed away March 8, 2009. Mr. Gilliam was born
in Fulton County. He worked with his father in Gilliam Construction as a heavy equipment operator. Ryan was a very outgoing young man who enjoyed being with his family and friends. He enjoyed motor cross, wake-boarding, snowboarding, NASCAR and was an avid UGA fan. He graduated from Union Grove High School, Class of 2004.
Survivors are his father and step-mother, Harold D. Gilliam Jr. (Allyson) of McDonough; mother, Robin Lee (Stephen Edge) of Stockbridge; brothers, Jeff Gilliam, Casey Spivey; sister, Lindsey Gilliam, all of McDonough; girlfriend, Ruth Goins of McDonough; grandparents, Joyce Gilliam of McDonough, Ardie Lee of Lavonia, and Jim and Jerrie Lindsey of West Point; great-grandmother, Kay Williams of Lavonia; aunts, uncles, cousins, his dog, Sawyer, and countless friends.
Funeral services for Ryan Gilliam will be Thursday, March 12, 2 p.m., at Salem Baptist Church, with Rev. Richard M. Huycke officiating. Interment will be at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park.
