Lolale Fountain
WILKESBORO, N.C. - Services for Lolale C. Fountain will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Poplar Springs Methodist Church Cemetery, near Adrian. Fountain, 88, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998. Born in Morgan County, she lived in Emanuel County for several years and was the daughter of the late Thomas DeWitt and Ruth Fountain. She was a graduate of Mercer University, where she earned her Master's Degree in Education. She was retired from the boards of education in both Laurens and Emanuel counties. A longtime former member of Adrian Baptist Church, she was a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church in Macon.

Survivors include her niece, Dianne DeMasso of Valle Crucis, N.C. The family will receive friends at the Cemetery following the service. Johnson Funeral Home, Swainsboro, has charge of arrangements.

Dave Higingbotham
HAWKINSVILLE - Services for Dave J. Higingbotham were Saturday in Broad Street Baptist Church with burial in Orange Hill Cemetery. Higingbotham, 69, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Wyl Higingbotham; children, Patty Nutt and Lewis Higingbotham, both of Eastman, Mike Higingbotham of Ellijay and Tommy Grinstead of Hawkinsville; sister, Irene Crowe of Eastman; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family may be contacted at 1 Pettey Drive. Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home in Eastman and Clark Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Robert Hodges Jr.
HURST, Texas - Services for retired Lt. Col. Robert James Hodges Jr. will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Hodges Family Cemetery in Sumter County. Hodges, 67, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998. Born in Andersonville, he was the son of the late Robert and Fannie Hodges. After a career of more than 20 years, he retired from the Air Force. During his career, he flew several types of fixed-wing aircraft on various missions. He did a tour of duty in Vietnam, was a pilot instructor at Fort Benning, and served as President Johnson's pilot after Johnson left office. He spent more than 10 years as a chief pilot for American Flyers Flight School in Fort Worth, Texas .

Survivors include his wife, Carole Hodges; children, Robert Hodges III of Atlanta and Fox Hodges of Fort Worth, Texas ; brother and sister, Forester Hodges of Mount Airy and Ruth Frick of Macon; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends after the service, and requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Hancock Funeral Home, Americus, has charge of arrangements.

Mary Jackson
SPARTA - Services for Mary Eileen Gardner Jackson will be at 2 p.m. today in Smyrna Methodist Church Cemetery. Jackson, 83, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998. Born in Desloge, Mo., she was a resident of Sparta for several years. She was a retired store owner/operator, and was a former employee of Hancock Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Smyrna Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children, George Jackson Jr. and Marianne Hyman, both of Sparta, and Joan Smith of Milledgeville; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to John Hancock Academy, P.O. Drawer E, Sparta 31087. Moore's Funeral Home, Milledgeville, has charge of arrangements.

Ethel Jenkins
AMERICUS - Services for Ethel Mae Floyd Jenkins will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Bethlehem Baptist Church, Plains, with burial in the church cemetery. Jenkins died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998. A longtime resident of Americus, she was educated at Cook-Boynton Beach public school.

Survivors include her daughter, Hazel Shuler of Delray Beach, Fla.; and nephew, Clarence Laster of Americus.

The family may be contacted at the residence of Clarence Laster, 225 Brookdale Drive. Barnum Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Billy Lewis
WARNER ROBINS - Services for Billy E. Lewis will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday in McCullough Funeral Home, with burial in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Lewis, 64, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998. Born in Chester, he was the son of the late Joseph and Cleo Lewis. An Air Force veteran, he was in the civil service, working as a sheet metal worker at Robins Air Force Base.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Lewis; his children, Kathy Clark of Griffin and Linda Terrell of Centerville; sister, Hazel Watson of Perry; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight in the funeral home.

Sarah Mercer
LESLIE - Services for Sarah L. Mercer will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Old Corinth Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Mercer, 71, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998. She was a lifelong resident of Leslie and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her children, Hattie Rivers of Leesburg, Ida Mercer and Eldridge Mercer Jr., both of Americus, Edna Luster of Leslie, Constance Mercer of Norcross, Sammy Mercer, Freddie Mercer, Edward Mercer and Lewis Mercer, all of Leslie; brother, Willie Lewis of West Palm Beach; 22 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family may be contacted at 265-D Copper Road. Barnum Funeral Home, Americus, has charge of arrangements.

Audrey Mills
SAVANNAH - Services for Audrey Margaret Gay Mills will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Murchison Funeral Home, Vidalia, with burial in Pinecrest Cemetery. Mills, 81, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998. Born in Montgomery County, she moved to Savannah 50 years ago and was a homemaker. She was a charter member of South Gardens Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Thomas Mills of LaGrange; brothers and sisters, Virginia Mixon, Carolyn Humphrey, and Joanne Bell, all of Vidalia, Curtis Gay of Rincon, and Emerson Gay of Jesup; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight in the funeral home.

Mae Paulk
OCILLA - Services for Mae Tyson Paulk will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Ocilla Church of God with burial in Paulk Cemetery, Irwin County. Paulk, 90, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998. A lifelong resident of Irwin County, she was the pianist for Ocilla Church of God.

Survivors include her children, Dorothy Roush of Brunswick, Jerry Paulk of Alapaha, Shirley Folds, Patricia Smith, and William Paulk, all of Fitzgerald; stepchildren, Margaret Howell of Ocilla, and Emily Howell of Gainesville; sister, Jewel Floyd of Clearwater, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight in Paulk Funeral Home, Ocilla.

Iris Pope
MONTEZUMA - Services for Iris Pope will be at 2 p.m. today in New Hope Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Pope, 89, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998. Born in Montezuma, she was the daughter of the late Moody and Ella Engram. She was educated in Macon County public schools, graduated from Fort Valley Industrial High School and attended Fort Valley Normal College. The widow of Ernest Pope, she was a receptionist retired from the school of nursing. She lived in Pennsylvania for 46 years and was affiliated with Duke Memorial Baptist Church of Johnstown, Pa. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and served as superintendent of the Sunday School ministry, missionary board ministry and was a Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include her daughter, Shad Chatfield of Montezuma; brothers and sister, Maulvin Engram of Montezuma, Lewis Engram of Houston, and Alice Mathis of Fort Valley. The body will be placed in the church an hour before services. Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.

Eddie Mae Rowland
CHESTER - Services for Eddie Mae Rowland will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Sweet Home Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the Rowland family Cemetery in Dodge County. Rowland, 90, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998. A lifelong resident of Dodge County, she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Mary Rowland. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sweet Home Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight in Mathis Funeral Home in Cochran, and may be contacted at the residence of Aaron and Opal Rowland, Route 1, Old Rebie Road, Chester. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Sweet Home Primitive Baptist Church, Route 1, Chester. The body will be placed in the church one hour before services.

Mark Simons
ZAIDEE - Services for Mark Simons will be at 2 p.m. today in Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, with burial in Westview Cemetery. Simons, 81, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998. A lifelong resident of Treutlen County, he was the son of the late Jim and Maggie Simons. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was retired owner and operator of Simons Hardware in Soperton. He was a member of Harmony Masonic Lodge No. 405 F&AM, Soperton. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Soperton, where he served as deacon emeritus and was a member of R.A. Perry Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Simons; daughter, Glenda Simons of Zaidee; brother, Dewey Simons of Zaidee, and one grandchild.

Louise Thomas
SPARTA - Services for Louise Primas Thomas will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Pearson Chapel AME Church with burial in the church cemetery. Thomas died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998. Born in Hancock County, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Johnnie Harper Primas. She was the widow of Louie Thomas. She was a member of Pearson Chapel AME Church.

Survivors include her children, Michael Thomas of Milledgeville and Ricky Thomas of Sparta; sisters, Malissa Fluellen and Ellen Primas, both of Toledo, Ohio; and four grandchildren.

The family may be contacted at the residence, Route 1, Box 299, Sparta. Slater's Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Marinan Anderson
DUBLIN - Services for Marinan Denise Anderson will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with burial at 3 p.m. in Brewton Cemetery, Evans County. Anderson, 37, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000. Born in Clarke County, she was a graduate of West Laurens High School and North Georgia Technical Institute in Clarksville. She attended Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, where she was a member of the Southwest Civic Choir.
Survivors include her parents, Dr. George Turner Anderson and Nanette Williams Anderson; sisters, Susan A. Batey of Oriana, Janice A. Gruber of Dublin and Georgana A. Brown of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and three nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Adams Funeral Home and may be contacted at her parents' residence in Dublin.

Wade Bell
DETROIT - Services for Wade O. Bell will be at noon Monday in Reid Cemetery, Twiggs County. Bell, 62, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000. He was born in River Rouge, Michigan, the son of the late Wade B. and Ola Mae Glover Bell.

Survivors include his children, Deadra Bell, Wade A. Bell, Orlando Bell and Donna Bell, all of Detroit, Simone Abrams, Erica Bell and Quinton Bell, all of Southfield, Mich., and Cris Bell of Texas ; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Hutchings Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
