William Thomas Ford
William Thomas “Bill” Ford, age 67, of Locust Grove, Georgia, passed away March 11, 2009. He was born
in Gallatin, Tennessee to the late James Edgar and Lucy Kathrin En-gland Ford. He served his country in the United States Navy and retired after over 30 years with Bennett International Group.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Susan Ford of Locust Grove; children, Jeff (Dawn) Ford of McDonough, John (Carrie) Ford of Jonesboro; Nathan Ford of Griffin, Jason Buckner of Forsyth and Angela Buckner of Forsyth; five grandchildren; siblings, Robert Ford of Tennessee, Kenneth (Lamon) Ford of Thailand, Nancy Vaughn of Tennessee, Kitty (Don) Butler of Wyoming.
Funeral services were conducted March 15 at the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, Rev. William L. Herndon officiating. Interment followed at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Elder M. Starr
Elder M. "Mutt" Starr, age 79, of McDonough, Georgia, died March 15, 2009. He was born
in Milner on July 17, 1929 to the late Elder H. and Arvella Harris Starr. Mutt was a member of County Line Congregational Christian Church, where he had served faithfully in many areas. He was also a member of the Hampton Masonic Lodge #70 and McDonough Masonic Lodge #37. He was very involved with the Gideons International. After retiring from Ford Parts Depot, he opened Starr Bright Jewelers in McDonough. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Sue Ellen Starr.
Mr. Starr is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Starr, McDonough; daughters, Helen and Charlie Davis, Hampton, Kaye and Danny Sellars, McDonough; 3 grandchildren, Chris and Kim Deatherage, Kris and Martain Hutchens, and Robin and Jason Crutchfield; 6 great grandchildren, Noah, Gabe, Hailey, Hope, Stormy, and Alex.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18 at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Rev. Vic Whited and Dr. Michael Halsey officiating. Interment will follow at County Line Congregational Christian Church Cemetery

Claude Horace Wilson
Claude Horace Wilson, age 84, of Locust Grove, Georgia, passed away March 17, 2009 at Sacred Journey Hospice. Mr. Wilson was born
in Musella, the son of the late Sara Anna Wiggins and Claude Apolean Wilson. Mr. Wilson served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic before retiring. He enjoyed being with his family, visiting, mechanic work, and gardening and he was also known for being an all around handy man. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49-plus years, Pauline Watkins Wilson; brothers, Cecil Wilson and Earl Wilson; and sister, Lila Harris.
Survivors are his son, David Wilson of Locust Grove; brothers, William Wilson, Jack Wilson and James Wilson all of Musella; sister, Betty Jennings of East Point; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Wilson will be Thursday, March 19, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Seabolt and Chaplain Dave Riley officiating. Interment will follow at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association. Jesse G. Jinks
Jesse G. Jinks of Duncanville, Texas , passed away on February 28, 2009. He was born
January 2, 1931, to Doyle and Lucinda Jinks in Henry County. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorine Green. He graduated from Henry County High School in 1948 and went to work for the First National Bank until he enlisted in the Army during the Korean war, serving in Okinawa and spending 6 years in active and reserves. He received his B.A. degree from Barnesville College. He was married
to Martha Belle Butts of Thomaston, and they have two sons, Steve and Glenn.
Jesse is survived by his two sons, Steve and Glenn (Sherry) Jinks of Duncanville, Texas , five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brothers, Homer Jinks and Bobby Jinks of McDonough, and Aaron Jinks of Griffin; sisters, Lucile Tomberlin of DeLand, Florida, Mindy Clotfelter, of McDonough, and Marguerite Adams of Forest Park. There are many nephews and nieces.
He has donated his body to science and memorial services are pending. The family has requested donations be made to Covenant United Methodist Church, 3610 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36303.
Ted Johnson
Ted Johnson, age 18, of McDonough, Georgia, passed away on March 1, 2009. He came into this world in December of 1990, and blessed everyone that came into contact with him. He graduated from Union Grove High School and was a college freshman at Clayton State University. Mr. Johnson attended Higher Living Christian Church, where he was a member of the Youth Ministry, College Tour Team and Athletic Ministry. His love of basketball spanned 15 years, starting at the age of 3, when his father gave him his first basketball.
Ted is survived by his parents, Iris A. Smith and Ted V. John-son, Sr.; maternal grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Robert E. Smith, Sr.; maternal uncle, Robert E. Smith, Jr.; maternal aunt, Laverne Creek; paternal grandmother Linda Taylor; paternal grandfather Jessie James Johnson; paternal great-grandparents, Irene Taylor, Inez and Otto Johnson.
A memorial service was held on March 6 at Higher Living Christian Church (formerly New Birth South Metropolitan Church) in Hampton. Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel.
Tammy Tallent Padgett
Tammy Tallent Padgett, age 43, of McDonough, Georgia, passed away March 1, 2009. She was born
in Fulton County to Boyd James and Paula Maxine Bell Tallent. She had worked for Henry County Parks and Recreation for 15 years and was a member of Loco Baptist Church in Lincolnton. Tammy was a loving person who enjoyed time with her family, photography, baking, fishing, hunting and the outdoors.
Survivors include her sons, Keith (Natalie) Crawford of Griffin, Kyle and Dustin Padgett of McDonough; parents, Boyd J. and Paula M. Tallent of Thom-son; siblings, Mack B. (Sandy) Tallent of Lincolnton, Burt (Dee) Tallent of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Glenda (Freddie) Rhodes, Tim Lawson, both of Tignall; grandmother, Barbara Bell of Jackson; several nieces and nephews.

Felton Drew Bartlett, Sr.
Felton Drew Bartlett, Sr., age 87, of McDonough, Georgia died March 2, 2009. He was born
in Macon to the late Milton T. and Alma Simpson Meeks Bartlett. He loved his church, enjoyed gardening, and was a computer enthusiast.
Mr. Bartlett is survived by his wife, Hazel Aline Bartlett; daughter, Deborah (Denny) Norris, both of McDonough; son, Felton Drew (Robyn) Bartlett, Jr. of Canton; 3 grandchildren, Dena Norris, Diana Norris, and Melissa (J.B.) Owens; and several nieces and nephews.
