SPARTA - Services for E. Roy Simons will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Moores Funeral Home with burial in West View Cemetery.

Simons, 89, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000.

He was a heavy equipment operator, retired from Martin Marietta Aggregates and was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice Simons; son, Ernie Simons of Sparta; brother, Louis Simons of Warrenton; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight in the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to Knowles Chapel Methodist Church.

Paul Thigpen
SOPERTON - Services for Paul Joseph Thigpen will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sammons Funeral Home with burial in Thigpen Cemetery.

Thigpen, 70, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000.

He was a retired carpenter.

Survivors include his son, Mark Thigpen of Muskegon Heights, Mich.; stepson, Edward Thigpen; sisters and brothers, Laura Davis and Geneal McDaniel of Soperton, Alda Edge of Vidalia, S.T. Thigpen of Gainesville, Fla., and Jerry Thigpen of Jonesboro, Ark.; and three grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight in the funeral home.

Debra Thomas
Services for Debra Ann Thomas will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Ash Street Church of God in Christ with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Thomas, 40, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000.

She was formerly employed at Robins Air Force Base and The Macon Telegraph.

Survivors include her children, Antonio Thomas, Bronay Johnson and Jarvis Johnson; mother, Effie Marshall; brothers and sisters, Dwight Thompson, Wayne Thompson, Ronald Reid, Jimmie Thompson Jr., Emcy Thompson, Tommie Marshall, Lindsey Marshall, Alexander Thompson, Derrick Reid, Brenda Stapleton, Carla Thompson, Edith Thompson, Hazel Thompson, Janet Thompson, Pamela Tomblin, Sandra Carson and Tonie Marshall.

Bentley & Sons Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

James Walters
ASHBURN - Services for James T. "Bubba" Walters will be at 2 p.m. today in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Walters, 58, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000.

He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and Fisherman's Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Ima Walters; daughter, Becky Tompkins of Tifton; mother, Ruby Walters of Ocilla; a grandchild.

Perry Funeral Chapel, Ashburn, has charge of arrangements.

Brian Weber
DUBLIN - Services for Brian James Weber will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Dudley Baptist Church with burial in Paradise Farm.

Weber, 40, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000. He was a member of Dudley Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Weber; children, Autumn Weber and Nicholas Weber of Dublin; parents, Mervyn and Betty Weber of Dublin; sister, Debbie Chaido of Des Moines, Iowa.

Family will receive friends at 1395 Wade Hampton Road, 6:30 to 9:30 Tuesday. Adams Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Joyce Wood
TENNILLE - Services for Joyce Vera Crooms Wood will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in E.K. May Funeral Home with burial in Zeta Cemetery.

Wood, 54, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000.

She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include her husband, James Wood; children, Angela Cramer of Deepstep, Joy Wood of Sandersville, Wanda Carey of Tennille; sisters and brothers, Frances Simpson of Harrison, Betty Wood of Tennille, Jack Waters of Clearwater, S.C., Franklin Waters of Sandersville, and Ray Waters and Robert Crooms.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight in the funeral home and will be at 11659 Deepstep Road.

Memorials can be made to First Church of the Nazarene.

Mary E. Brook

Services for Mary Eloise Brook will be private. Brook, 82, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, in a local hospital.

Born in Huntington, W.Va., she had lived in Macon for the past 16 years.

She was the daughter of the late Badger and Cornella Smallwood Williams.

The widow of Harry William Morris and William Varina Brook, she was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include her children, Mary Rebecca Morris of Stockbridge, Marianna Yvonne Bailey of Henderson, Nev., and David Scott Morris of Washington ; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Bridges Funeral Home, Gray, has charge of arrangements.

Harvey Cheely

SPARTA - Services for Harvey Allen Cheely will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Culverton Cemetery.

Cheely, 90, died Sunday, May 7, 2000.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator and was a member of Culverton Methodist Church.

Survivors include his brother and sisters, Bennie Cheely of Mitchell, Alice Echols of Graniteville, S.C., and Julia Hadden of Sparta.

Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight in Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson.

Edna Clay

WARNER ROBINS - Services for Edna L. Clay will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Glorious Hope Baptist Church, Macon, with burial in Mount Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Clay died Friday, May 5, 2000.

She was a member of Glorious Hope Baptist Church and member of the mother board.

Survivors include her children, Carol Battle and Charles Clay of Macon, Kenneth Clay, Samuel Clay and Phillip Hill, all of Warner Robins; stepchildren, Velma Simpson, Rose Smith, Brenda Kincaid and Eunice Clay, all of Warner Robins, Sharon Robinson of Macon, Earnest Clay of New Jersey and Carey Clay of California; sisters and brothers, Ruby Braswell, Floyd Williams and Lloyd Williams, all of Macon, Evelyn Hill of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mary Johnson of Texas ; 46 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren.

Family will be at 208 Devonwood Drive.

Nelson's Memorial Mortuary has charge of arrangements.

Lawrence Cromer

MONTEZUMA - Services for Lawrence Cromer will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in New Hope Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Cromer, 66, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Otis Cromer Sr. and Minnie Cromer.

He served in the Air Force for four years and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Milton Lester of Atlanta; sisters, Gladys Burnam and Wilmotine Haugabook, both of Montezuma; and a grandchild.

West's Mortuary has charge of arrangements.

Lanie Dawson

HAZLEHURST - Services for Lanie Hall Dawson will be at 11 a.m. today in Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with burial in Hazlehurst City Cemetery.

Dawson, 97, died Saturday, May 6, 2000.

The widow of Rufus Dawson, she was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Judy DeLoach of Jonesboro; brother and sister, James Hall of Cumming and Joyce Bartlett of Warner Robins; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
