Janie Elam Swinney, age 85, of Ellenwood, Georgia, died May 3, 2009. Mrs. Swinney was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Swinney.
She is survived by daughters, Sylvia Lening, Lenda Harper; son, Johnny Swinney; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, at Fairview Memorial Gardens with Rev. Frank Brooks officiating. Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel.
Jackie Thompson
Jackie Thompson, age 70, of Ellenwood, Georgia, died April 23, 2009. Mrs. Thompson was a wonderful Christian who loved life. Her family was the center of her life. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and lived in Ellenwood for the past 33 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Charlie Thompson of Ellenwood; daughters, Toni Santiago of Montgomery, New York, Christy Lunsford of Stockbridge; sons, Brad (Butch) Middleman of Flovilla, Brian Thompson of Florence, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jennifer, Holly, Karolyn, Katherine, Logan, and Jackson; great- grandchildren, Brynn and Layla; brother, Dick Rahn of Cumming, and nephews Jason Rahn and Hank Martin.
A memorial service was held April 26 at Bethel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Lavell Sanders officiating. Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel.
Dawn Stokes Faulkner
Dawn Stokes Faulkner, age 42, of Jackson, Georgia, died April 23, 2009. She was born
in San-ford, North Carolina, on June 6, 1966. She was a member of Peoples Baptist Church and Academy, where she played the flute in the orchestra and also worked in the nursery. She loved pets and all sports. But most important was her family.
Mrs. Faulkner is survived by her husband, Mark Faulkner, daughters, Jessica Rachel Faulkner and Stacey Rebecca Faulkner, all of Jackson; parents, Jim and Fran Stokes of Stockbridge; and sister, Marian Denise Sweatte of Charleston, South Carolina.
Funeral services were held on April 26 at Peoples Baptist Church and Academy, with Dr. David McCoy officiating. Interment at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors.
Sarah Malloy Conkle
Sarah Malloy Conkle, age 70, of Hampton, Georgia, died April 24, 2009. She was born
in Fayetteville, North Carolina, to the late Patrick and Ruby Lee Malloy. Mrs. Conkle was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Conkle is survived by her husband, James Andrew Conkle, Hampton; children, Joyce Heilig of North Carolina, Patsy Clendening of Jonesboro, Wanda Day and Lee Berry, both of Hampton; step-children, Tracey Conkle of Jenkinsburg, Kerry Conkle of McDonough, Salina Tarleton of Milner; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy (Ed) Riggs and brother, Norman Malloy, both of Bradenton, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Kimberly Renae Forbes
Kimberly Renae Forbes, age 41, of McDonough, Georgia, April 16, 2009. She was born
in Decatur to Charles E. Anderson and the late Margaret Frances Bare-foot Anderson.
Mrs. Forbes is survived by her husband, Scott Forbes; children, Noel Miller, Griffin, Justin Taylor Knowles and Bailey Frances Knowles, both of McDonough, Natalie Forbes and Heather Forbes, both of Lawrenceville; parents, Charles and Gaele Anderson, Dunnellon, Florida; sister, Nicole Morris, Fayetteville; grandfather, Edwin Garrett, Locust Grove, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Curtis Wesley Tompkins
Curtis Wesley Tompkins, age 49, of Locust Grove, Georgia, passed away on April 17, 2009. Mr. Tompkins was born
in Monroe County, Florida. He was employed by Mid-South Roofing Systems as a sheet metal worker in construction. Mr. Tompkins enjoyed working in his yard, football, golf, fishing, NASCAR and most of all, spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. His father, Joseph Henry Tompkins, and his step-father, George W. Philips, preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife, Beth Tompkins of Locust Grove; daughter, Cortnee Tompkins of Locust Grove; step-son, Steven Perkins of Hampton; mother, Evelyn Philips of Franklin, North Carolina; brother, Jeff Tompkins of Stone Mountain; grandchildren, Breanna, Bailee, Brooke and Hannah Perkins.

Carolyn Joyce Case Johnson
Carolyn Joyce Case Johnson, age 75, of Locust Grove, Georgia, passed away April 18, 2009. Mrs. Johnson was born
in McComb, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Virgie and William Case. She was also preceded in death by several siblings. Mrs. Johnson was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed being with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and shopping.
Survivors are her children, Deborah Butler of Austell, Diane Gibbs (Tommy) of Gadsden, Bobby Tucker of Gadsden, Steve Tucker (Debbie) of Gadsden, Greg Johnson of McDonough, Terri Johnson of Locust Grove, and Kim Dixon (Derek) of McDonough; grandchildren, Robbie and Amanda Tucker, McKenzie, Alexis & Miah Johnson, Kaleb & Gabrielle Dixon; several nieces and nephews.
