Funeral services for Mr. Alonzo Julius Walthall, of Turin, will be held Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, 2 p.m. at China Grove Baptist Church. Rev. L. M. Spear Jr. will officiate, assisted by Rev. Harold V. Alonzo Julius Walthall was born
to the late Charlie A. and Julia Mae Walthall on April 10, 1928.
He graduated from Howard W. Warner High School in Newnan, Ga., in 1946 and soon after joined the U. S. Army. He served during the Korean War (conflict) and was honrably discharged in 1957.
He was a memer of China Grove Baptist Church, where he was superintendent of Sunday school until his health precluded him.
Two brothers preceded him in death, Hubert and William Walthall.
He leaves behind a loving and devoted wife, Dalhia Walthall; two daughters, Marlis Walthall and Mr. and Mrs Michael Godfrey (Synthia); two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Walthall (Angelia) and Aundra Walthall; remaining of three brothers, Richard; seven grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

Mr. Danny Crocker, 23, of Newnan, Ga., passed away Oct. 9, 2004.
He is survived by his parents, Bob and Teresa Crocker of Jonesboro; grandmother, Evelyn Evans of Riverdale; brother, Robby Crocker of Jonesboro; sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Robert Goins of Newnan; aunts and uncles. Mrs. Anna P. Nibbe
Mrs. Anna Pauline Nibbe, 78, of Lake City, MN, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004 at Lake City Hospital Mayo Health System.
Anna Nibbe was born
Oct. 9, 1926 in Peebles, Ohio to Paul and Phoebe (Store) Fristoe. She graduated from Peebles High School. She married
Donald Nibbe June 2, 1945 in Fort Thomas, KY. After they were married, they lived in Lake City. She worked at Lake City High School as a secretary in the superintendent's office. She retired in 1986. Her husband Donald died in 1988. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City and she was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by two daughters, Sheryl (Ronell) Wilson of Lake City, and Donna (Dan) Lichty of Newnan, GA; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one brother Richard (Bess) Fristoe of Peebles, Ohio. Her husband and parents preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City with the Rev. Scott Carmichael officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery
in Lake City. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel, Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church.

Mrs. Sheila Richardson Wortham, 53, of Lawrenceville, Ga., died Oct. 9, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Curtis C. Wortham Jr.; daughters, Bekki and James Gowens of Loganville, Ashlee Wortham of Lawrenceville; sons, Sam and Ric Wortham of Lawrenceville; father, Fred Richardson of Lake Oconee; sister, Trenia and Terry Phillips of Gainesville; mother-in-law, Juanita Wortham of Newnan; aunt, Gertie Luther of Snellville; grandchildren, Cora, Jacob and Caleb Gowens; 5 nieces, 2 nephews, and special family friends, Cassy Stringfield and Laurie Cleveland. Mrs. Gladys Stone Jackson, 86, of Newnan, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004. She was the wife of the late Mr. Quimby Melton Jackson.

Mr. Andrew Poythress Sr.
Mr. Andrew Poythress Sr. of Newnan died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at South Fulton Medical Center in East Point, Ga.
Mr. Poythress was born
Dec. 9, 1938, to the late George and Nellie May Ransby Poythress in Heard County. As a youngster, he accepted the teachings of Jesus and joined The Bethel Heard Baptist Church. Poythress met and became partner in marriage with Eloise Barber on June 7, 1961, and the union was blessed with three children.
Funeral services for Mr. Poythress will be Monday, Oct. 11 at 12 p.m. at Bethel Heard Baptist Church in Franklin. Rev. Clinton Melson will officiate and be assisted by Rev. Willie Geter and Rev. Tony Poythress. Interment will be held at Eastview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews, and the honorary pallbearers will be Donald Bennett and Allan J. Johnson.

Mr. Roosevelt McGruder, 59, passed on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004 at Newnan Hospital.

Mr. Roosevelt McGruder was born
Feb. 4, 1945 in Meriwether County to the late Robert and Beatrice McGruder, the second to a family of fifteen children. He resided in Spalding County, in Griffin, Ga.
Roosevelt attended school in Meriwether County and joined Sunnyside Baptist Church, then later joined Community Biblical Base Outreach Ministry where he served as chairman of the Deacon Board. He first worked for Mr. Hope Williams at an early age on the farm. Then he was employed at Nick Water's Pulp Wooding Company for numerous years. Later he owned and operated McGruder's Logging Company which he really enjoyed. His part-time work was at Red and Ed of Newnan, Ga. where everyone was glad to see "Roe" coming.
On Oct. 31, 1977 he was joined in holy matrimony to Annie Doris Sinkfield.
He was preceded in death by his son, Roosevelt McGruder; and brother-in-law, James Sinkfield.

He was ordained as a Baptist minister. He was an avid poetry writer and was a good friend and loved all neighbors. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ethel Wiles; daughter, Patricia Wilcox of Newnan; sons, Billy Wiles of Fayetteville, Ga. and Bobby Wiles of Greenville, Ga.; sisters, Hilda Shaffer, Martha Neese and Earlene Richardson, all of Mississippi; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mary Crawford Bowen, 71, of Grantville, Ga., died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004 at Newnan Hospital.
Born Sept. 6, 1933, Mrs. Bowen lived in Coweta County most of her life and was retired from Owen-Illinois Corporation in Hapeville. She was the wife of the late Eldon Bowen.

Mr. John Frank Brown, 69, of Newnan, Ga., died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004. He was the son of Mr. John and Mrs. Bertie Brown. Mr. John Brown worked for the city of Newnan as a building inspector for 34 years and prior to working for the city he worked with Bill Pinson as an electrician and plumber.

Mr. Jeffrey Scott Conner
Mr. Jeffrey Scott Conner, 20, of 26 Wiseton Court, Simpsonville, S.C., died Sept. 26, 2004.
Born in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of Brant and Cheryl Richards Conner.
Jeffrey was a graduate of Shannon Forest Christian School, attended Presbyterian College and was currently a student at Greenville Technical College. His desire was to pursue a career in music. His interests included psychology, philosophy, and computers. He also enjoyed reading mythology, history and Eastern religion, in which he was very interested. He was a purple belt in karate.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his grandmother, Janet Conner of Forsyth, GA; aunt and uncle, John and Kay Smith of Conyers, GA; an uncle, Bert Richards of Lancaster, CA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. J. H. Richards, and grandfather, Brantley Conner.
Services were held Wednesday, Sept. 29 at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive, Greenville, S.C. Burial in Graceland East Memorial Park.

Mr. Donald George Straley, 63, of Newnan, Ga., died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.
He was the son of the late Robert Straley and the late Alberta (Rings) Straley. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Henry Straley.
