Mrs. Kathleen Anne Oltz
Mrs. Kathleen Anne Oltz, 55, of Newnan, Ga., died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2004. She grew up on the family farm in Stahlstown, PA, and attended schools in Ligonier, PA, and Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania . She was a resident of Albany, Peachtree City and Newnan, Ga. for 26 years, including assignment in Guatemala. Earlier residences included Hartford, Conn., and Charlotte, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward E. Carns, and husband, Charles H. Oltz.
She is survived by her loving mother, Minnig A. Riggs Modelski, and setp-father Andrew M. Modelski, of Louisa, VA; and by her loving long-time friend and companion John C. Dunn of Newnan, Ga.
Other surviving relatives are: Barry Carns and Terry Carns Harden; Robert M. Riggs Sr. (wife, Maxine), Robert M. Riggs Jr. and Rodney F. Riggs of Stahlstown and Ligonier, PA; Madge Campbell (husband, Dale), Susan Cambell Norris and Christine Cambell Aldrichof McCalla, Ala. Also preceding her in death was her uncle, Evan R. Carns.
Services will be handled by McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, Ga. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004 at McKoon Funeral Home. Mr. William David Bussey
Mr. William David Bussey, 69, of Grantville, Ga., died Aug. 31, 2004.
He was the son of the late Mr. C. F. Bussey and the late Mrs. Orlean Conway Bussey. He was a veteran of the Korean War and retired as the co-owner of a traffic safety business.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Bussey of Grantville; daughters, Sherry Price of Grantville, Lee Ann Day of Acworth, Ga., Selina Bussey of Morrow, Ga., and Kristy Brown of Newnan; sons, James Bussey of Grantville, Dale Bussey of Tampa, Fla., and Robbie Patterson of Newnan; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The services are being handled by McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, Newnan. The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 2, from 6-8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home and the service will be held on Friday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Rose officiating.
Mr. James L. Forbus
Mr. James L. Forbus, 88, of Bowman, Ga., died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004 at Elbert Memorial Hospital in Elberton, Ga.
Mr. Forbus was born
May 16, 1916 in Troup County, son of the late James Manley Forbus and the late Mattie McClain Forbus. A resident of Senoia for many years, he lived in Gray before manking his home in Bowman six years ago and was a member of Senoia United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran and was a retired rural mail carrier.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Ellen Forbus of Bowman and John and Gail Forbus of Haymarket, Va.; and two grandsons, Ian and Sara Forbus of Charlotte, N.C. and David Forbus of Haymarket, Va.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery
in Hogansville with the Rev. Wallace Wheeles officiating.

Effie Mae Montgomery was born
into a close knit family on May 3, 1944 in Newnan, Ga., Coweta County. Her parents were Marshall Montgomery and the late Willie Mae Rudley Montgomery.
She graduated from Central High School in Coweta County.
As time went on, she was baptized and became a member of the Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, where she worked and served faithfully. She loved people, to know her was to love her.

Mr. Charles Harold Johnson
Mr. Charles Harold Johnson, 87, died Aug. 25, 2004, at his home in Carrollton, GA. He was born
in Englewood, Colorado, on Jan. 23, 1917. At age 2 he moved with his mother and brother to Brooklyn, New York. With his wife, Grace, he later lived in Georgia, Massachusetts and Florida, returning to Georgia in 2002. He was a loving husband and a valued member of his extended family.
Surviving is Grace Johnson, his wife of 47 years, along with a number of nieces and nephews and many friends around the country.

Mrs. Elizabeth Collum of Atlanta, Ga., died Aug. 30, 2004. Mrs. Collum was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Collum and her parents, Paskin & Clestelle Moore. She was a retired teacher from the Atlanta Public Schools; a graduate of The University of Georgia and then went on to attend Oglethorpe University and was a member of Northside United Methodist Church. Surviving are her cousins, Helen Edwards of Acworth, Annette Austin of Newnan, Dan Dundan of Griffin, Judy Key of Jonesboro, Anne Cox of Atlanta, Myron Sewell of Gainesville and Janice Hopkins of Palmetto, Ga. Mrs. Virginia Elizabeth Wortham DuRant, 70, of Orlando, Fla., died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004. Born Aug. 3, 1934 in Dallas, Ga. to Leon and Elizabeth (Pace) Wortham. Moved to Central Florida in 1954. Worked at the Country Club of Orlando for 15 years at Woodies Restaurant for 14 years. Mrs. Durant was preceded in death by her husband Jack C. DuRant in 2000. Surviving are daughters, Dell (Johnny) Westerman, Sandy (Jeff) Snider, Ginger (Scott) Mickey; stepdaughter, Jackie DuRant; sister, Evelyn Couch of Marietta, GA; 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 13 nieces and 6 nephews. Mr. Dennis M. Roberts
Mr. Dennis M. Roberts, 55, of Grantville, Ga., died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at his home.
Born June 14, 1949, in LaGrange, Mr. Roberts lived in Troup and Coweta Counties most of his life, was an Air Force veteran, and was employed as a carpenter. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Hogansville, American Legion Post 152, and the Hogansville Golf Club.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Roberts of Grantville; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Karen Roberts of Rockmart; step-sons and their wives, Richie and Teresa Potts and Mike and Bonnie Jones, all of Grantville; his mother, Blanche Roberts of Hogansville; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Gary Fuller of Greenville; a granddaughter, Kassidy Roberts; a step-granddaughter, Zoe Jones; and a niece and nephews, Rex Fuller, Tonya Fuller and Chad Fuller. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul W. Roberts Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, in the chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Minister Mansell Carpenter and the Rev. Zenus Windsor will officiate and Interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Members of his hunting club will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Jerry Kenneth Welborn, 67, of Newnan, Ga., died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004. Mr. Welborn was born
in Heard County, Ga. Sept. 18, 1937 to Mrs. Clyde Welborn Smith and the late Mr. Lyman Welborn.
He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Airforce, and was a retired employee of General Motors at Lakewood and worked at Kmart warehouse in security for the past 13 years. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Mr. Danny Horne, 46, of Newnan, Ga., died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004. He was born
in Columbus, Ga., Nov. 15, 1957. Mr. Horne was a senior customer service representative at Delta Airlines.

Mrs. Ella McDonald
Mrs. Ella McDonald, 84, of Sharpsburg, Ga. died Oct. 26, 2004 at her home after a brief illness. She was born
Aug. 2, 1920 in Newnan to the late Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Edwards. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.B. (Billy) McDonald, and her son, William (Little Billy).
She led an interesting and varied life, working inside and outside her home. Her first job was during World War II, when she served as a secretary to various generals as she moved from one U.S. Army base to another to be near her husband. After the war she and Billy resumed their life on the family farm, where she raised two children, picked cotton, churned their own butter and made their own ketchup.
Later in life she served in various classroom positions in the Coweta County School System.
Ella lived a full and colorful life, with travels to every continent except Antarctica. She was a grand hostess, making everyone feel welcome and glad to be in her home. She was a stranger to no one. She loved the beach, her backyard pool, music, tending her roses, cooking and writing her thoughts. Most of all she loved her large and extended family, and in recent years became the matriarch, with her home being the hub of many gatherings and celebrations.
Always a woman of faith and prayer, she was a lifelong member of the Mount Gilead Methodist Church in Raymond, serving as a lay leader and Sunday school teacher for many years.
Ella McDonald lived life to the fullest. She was generous, eccentric, flamboyant, outspoken, eternally optimistic, and fiercely protective and supportive of her family. Ella was bigger than life. She filled her home with her energy and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She will be sorely missed.
Ella is survived by her daughter Betsye and son-in-law Larry Menerey, grandson Joshua Vazquez, step grandchildren Mandee and Aaron Menerey, brother Joseph Edwards and sister-in-law Linda Edwards, sister-in-law Angie Edwards and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral is Friday at 3 p.m. at Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church, Raymond. Visitation is Thursday, Oct. 28 from 6-9 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, Ga.

Mrs. Mary Barnes, 92, of Columbus, Ga., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at Newnan Hospital Nursing Rehab Center in Newnan, Ga. Mrs. Barnes was born
and raised in Newnan, but has also lived in Macon and Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Barnes, and her parents, James C. and Ella Wallace.
She is survived by her four daughters, Gloria Griffin of Milledgeville, Ga., Louise Windom Sewell of Newnan, Ga., Hazel Tidwell of Columbus, Ga., and Brenda Cartledge of Box Springs, Ga.; son, Gus (Wally) Barnes of Macon, Ga.; sister, Elvie Hudson of Newnan, Ga.; brother, Roy Wallace of Sandersville, Ga.; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. George Burch Fisher
Mr. George Burch Fisher, 86, of Hickory, N.C., died Oct. 24, 2004 at the Lutheran Home in Hickory. He was born
July 2, 1918 in Newnan, Ga. to Tom Jones Fisher and Corille Hardaway Fisher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lila Norman Fisher; brother, Jett Fisher; and two sisters, Zoe F. Farmer and Louise F. Cole.
A sales representative for the sporting goods industry, Mr. Fisher formerly lived in Lexington, Va., where he worked for Pres Brown's Sporting Goods. He graduated from high school in Newnan and attended the University of Georgia. He was in the U.S. Army during WWII and served in the European Theater. Mr. Fisher was a gentleman's gentleman. He was an avid golfer, he loved sports, but most of all he loved his family.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Dr. George B. Fisher Jr. and wife Renee S. Fisher of Hickory, N.C. ; daughter and son-in-law, Jenny Fisher Cummins and husband Dr. Richard O. Cummins of Seattle, WA; eight grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Monday at the Lutheran Home, and another memorial service and burial will take place in Newnan, Ga.

Mr. Harvey Thompson
Mr. Harvey Thompson, 77, of Sargent, Ga., died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004. He is predeceased by his son David Thompson.
He is survived by his wife Betty Thompson of Sargent, Ga.; daughter, Patti Flournoy of Moreland, Ga.; grandchildren, Chris and Andrew Flournoy and Stephanie Veitch; great-grandchild, J. J. Veitch.
He served in the Army in WWII, European Theater; and served as a guard for the prisoners of war. After returning home he worked for Bibb Manufacturing and was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church.
