Mrs. Doris Virginia Owens Boston
Mrs. Doris Virginia Owens Boston, 61, of Newnan, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004 at Emory University Hospital. She was a retired teacher of the Dougherty County School System. She received her Master of Arts degree from Georgia State University and her Bachelor of Arts from Albany State College.

Mrs. Boston was a member of the Los Amigas Civic and Social Club, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Circle 2 Mission and the Floral Club. She was also a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Willie C. Boston; two daughters, Pamela Boston Sheard (Sammy Jr.) and Sonji Bates Boston (Timothy); five grandchildren, Brandon Sheard of Atlanta, Frances Sheard of Statesboro, and Samantha Sheard, Kristen Sheard and Sammy Sheard, all of Albany; one sister, Mary Owens of Newnan; two brothers, Roy Owens Jr. (Martha) of Newnan, and Johnny B. Owens of Newnan; a special friend/sister, Noveline Williams; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1905 MLK Jr. Drive, Albany. Pastor Daniel Simmons will officiate. Burial will be at Summerhill Baptist Church Cemetery in Moreland.

Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at 6 p.m. at Meadows Funeral Home in Albany, 1-229-439-2262.

Mrs. Phyllis Byrne Crook
Mrs. Phyllis Byrne Crook, 87, of Newnan, died Aug. 28, 2004, following an extended illness.

She was born March 8, 1917, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Alfred and Ethel Reineck Byrne. Preceding her in death was her husband, Hugh D. Crook.

Mrs. Crook was a retired accounting clerk and retired from Playtex following 13 years of service.

Survivors include her children, Phyllis S. Arnold, Carol S. Brimer and Arleen C. Thompson; six grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at 4 p.m. at the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Danny Wilson officiating.

Interment will be in the Senoia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Miss Mayson Amanda Jones
Miss Mayson Amanda Jones, 4, of Ratingen-Lintorf, Germany, formerly of Atlanta, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004.

Miss Jones was born in Atlanta on April 1, 2000, to Mark and Suzanne Jones. Her father's job as a financial consultant with Ernst and Young took the family to Germany after her birth. She was a bright and intelligent young lady, speaking both German and English proficiently. She loved to dance and sing and was a happy child who truly enjoyed life. She will be missed and remembered by all of her family for the rest of their lives.

The memorial service will be Monday, Aug. 30 at 1 p.m. at St. George Catholic Church with Father Austin Fogarty officiating.

Miss Jones is survived by her parents, Mark and Suzanne Jones, and five-year-old brother, William Rainier Jones, all currently living in Ratingen-Lintorf, Germany; maternal grandmother, Rochelle Jabaley of Grantville; maternal grandfather, Gerald Jabaley of Hogansville; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth A. Jones of Oveido, Fla.; paternal grandfather, William L. Jones of Tucker, Ga.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Mrs. Doris H. Phillips
Mrs. Doris H. Phillips, 84, of Carrollton, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004. She was born December 23, 1919, in Carroll County to the late Joseph Stephen Heath and Elizabeth Rebecca Simpkins Heath.

Mrs. Phillips was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Roopville Road Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Irvin Phillips; a brother, Lester Heath; and sisters, Vaudelle McCarty and Geneva Driver.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Margie and David Coulon of Carrollton; a sister, Mary Phillips of Carrollton; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Dumas Vines of Carrollton; a sister, Betty Jo Lyle of Braselton; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Dolph Heath of Norcross; Clarence and Jewell Heath of Marietta; and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation was Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, from 4 p..m until 8 p.m. at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel.

Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel, with Reverend Stephen Peeples, Reverend Travis Denney and Reverend Mark Wood officiating. Music will be rendered by Roopville Road Baptist Church Choir. Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Bates, Jerry Heath, Steve McCarty, Jimmy Vines, Steve Jennings, Stanley Jennings, Andy Heath and Tim Vines.

Interment will follow at Clem United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Danny Alan Smith
Mr. Danny Alan Smith, 35, of Newnan, died Friday at Atlanta Medical Center from injuries received in an automobile accident.

His mother, Rachel Walker Smith, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Mary W. Smith; his children, Amber and Chandler Smith; his father, James Harold Smith; a sister, Deena Powers and her husband Jerry; a niece, Stephanie Powers; a nephew, Ace Wood; a mother-in-law, Melba Wood; and a sister-in-law, Lynn Wood.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 30 at 2 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home today between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty) Bargeloh, 85, died at her home in Newnan on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bargeloh will be held Saturday, Aug. 28 at 3 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, with Pastor Bill Johnson officiating. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to: Zion Lutheran Church, 53 Country Club Rd., Newnan, Ga. 30263.

Survivors include three children, Bill Bargeloh of North Augusta, S.C., Betty Miller of Newnan and Tom Bargeloh of Los Alamos, N.M.; one sister, Mary Fayne Glotfelty of Charleston, W.V.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Raymond D. Earl
Mr. Raymond D. Earl, 69, of Sharpsburg, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at Newnan Hospital.

Mr. Earl was born in Lanett, Ala., on Sept. 20, 1934, to the late Loraine Fuller Earl and Pate Earl. He was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army, and was a retired employee of the General Motors Corporation. He was a member of Sunset Heights Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Aug. 29 at 2 p.m. at Sunset Heights Baptist Church. Rev. Billy Earl will officiate, and Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. and the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.

Survivors include wife, Sherry Earl; daughters, Kathy Smith and Lisa Munday of Phenix City, Ala.; one son, R. Dennis Earl of Bessemer, Ala.; stepdaughters, Joanna Cook of Newnan and Tammy Weaver of Hogansville, Ga., Sharon Hilman of Newnan, and Jamie Cook of Sharpsburg; stepsons, William Cook, Robert Cook and Joseph Cook, all of Newnan; one sister, Irene Railey of Eufaula, Ala.; brothers, Donald Earle of Griffin, Ga., Harold Earl of Sharpsburg and Jack Earle of Opelika, Ala.; 23 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Michael Dean Nester, 43, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at his residence in Newnan.

Mr. Nester was employed as the manager of the Carrollton Auto Zone.

Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home. Chaplain Asa Mangham will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. today.

Survivors include wife, Sharon Nester of Newnan; parents, Elwood and Vada Nester of Morristown, Tenn.; one son, Eric Nester of Newnan; and one brother, Keven Nester of Morristown, Tenn.

Funeral services for Mr. Isaac Rutledge will be held today at 1 p.m. at Powell Chapel United Methodist Church. Rev. Joe P. Geter will officiate, and Interment will be in Westview Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Mrs. Jo Ann Woodfill Graham, 67, of Indianapolis, Ind., died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004.

She was born Jan. 23, 1937, in Logansport, Ind., to Joe E. and Anna Caroline (Tichenor) Woodfill. She was a graduate of Shortridge High School and Indiana University, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and IU Foundation.

Funeral services for Mrs. Graham will be Monday, Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. at Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, with calling there one hour prior and a family service afterward at Crown Hill Cemetery. Friends may also call from 3 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 29, at Leppert Mortuary -- Nora, 740 E. 86th Street. For those who prefer a memorial contribution in lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Margaret's Hospital Guild, Kappa Alpha Theta, Second Presbyterian Church Building Fund, or Indiana University Cancer Center.

The funeral service for Mr. John W. Knox, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the R. W. Sutton Memorial Chapel at Sellers-Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Terry Lynn Wilson, 55, of Senoia died Aug. 21, 2004.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Justin Kollmeyer officiating. A luncheon will follow the service.

Survivors include daughters, Tabatha Wilson of Senoia, Tiffany Wilson and fiance Bobby Wade of McDonough; father, William T. and Billye Aikin of Atlanta; sister, Paula and Mike Cochran of Senoia; and nephew, Hawk Cochran of Senoia.
