Mr. Johnnie Lee Reese
Funeral services for Mr. Johnnie Lee Reese of Newnan, Ga., will be Thursday, April 29, 2004, 2 p.m. at Clarks Chapel United Methodist Church, Luthersville, Ga. Remains placed in state 12:30 p.m. Rev. J. C. Neal officiating, assisted by Rev. Richard Allen, Evangelist Annette Johnson and other ministers. Interment Luthersville Cemetery. Pallbearers: Larry Moreland, Ivan Brittian, Pete Smith, Kenneth Montgomery, Jimmie Wilkerson and Bobby Mitchell.
Mr. Reese was born
Aug. 27, 1929 in Meriwether County, in the town of Gay, Ga., to the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah (Leola) Reese.
He was a faithful member of the Clarks Chapel UMC until his health began to fail.
On May 7, 1955, Mr. Reese was united in Holy Matrimony to Miss Susie M. Turner. Johnnie and Susie shared 49 beautiful years together.
He was employed by the William L Bonnell Company, where he retired after 30 years. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Lucille Turner, Eugenia Dorsey and Dorothy Bussie; and two brothers, Alvin Reese and Isaiah Reese.
He passed Friday afternoon, April 23, 2004 at Newnan Hospital, Newnan, Ga., leaving to embrace his memories his devoted wife, Susie Reese; two loving and devoted daughters, Shirley Reese and Mr. and Mrs. Michael (Janice) Dickerson; four loving sons, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Reese, Conny Reese, Ronald Reese and Steven Reese; one loving and very devoted sister, Julia Walker; five loving brothers, James Maddox, Gene Reese, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Reese, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Reese and Charlie H. Turner; sisters-in-law, Freddie Reese and Corrina Reese; five grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Ramona) Reese, Shey Reese, Brandi Towns, Bonsha Towns and Jasmine Dickerson; one great-grandchild, Amaya Towns; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mr. George Neeley (Neal) Yost Jr. of Newnan died April 25, 2004. He was born
in Fulton County to George and Linda (Betts) Yost Sr. on May 24, 1970. He was a landscaper who loved the outdoors, especially boating, fishing and camping. Surviving are his wife, Christina Van Auken Yost of Newnan; mother, Linda Yost of Newnan; sister, Gina Yost, and brother-in-law, Jeromie Lindon of Newnan; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Nathan and Fonnie Van Auken of Cleveland; brother-in-law, George Van Auken; niece, Dane Lindon. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 29 at 2 p.m. at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel with Mr. Jeff Baer officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ms. Patricia Ann Edgecomb, 52, of Rockmart, Ga., died Thursday, April 15, 2004, at her residence. A native of Beaver Falls, Penn., she was born
Jan. 5, 1952 to Walter J. and Mary Jean Humphrey Kasparek. Her father preceded her in death. Her life was devoted to providing a home for her children Tracey L. Edgecomb and Shawn J. Edgecomb. In addition to her mother and children, she is survived by her grandchildren, Gavin J. Edgecomb, Taylor A. Edgecomb and Hunter G. Zinkowski. Mrs. Edgecomb has two sisters, Linda J. Wolfe and Debra M. Kasparek.
Arrangements are being handled by McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, Newnan, Ga., where a memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 28, at 6:30 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Ms. Kashia Lynn Keierleber, 18, of Grantville, Ga., died Monday, April 26, 2004.
She was a student at McIntosh High School. She was the daughter of Ross Keierleber and Nancy Andrzejewski Keierleber. She is survived by her brother, Jamin Keierleber and grandmother Beverly Shaw of Thompson Springs, Utah; and grandmother, Violet Keierleber of Elgin, North Dakota.

Mr. Gordon A. "Bill" Little, 81, of Union City, Ga., entered into rest April 24, 2004. He is survived by son, Rick Little and his wife, Kerri; daughter, Sandy Cooper and her husband, Gary; brothers, James Little and Howard Little; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 27, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Boyd officiating. Interment will be at Holly Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Melvin "Mel" David Webb of Evans, Ga., formerly of Peachtree City, Ga., entered into rest Sunday, April 25, 2004 after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at the Evans Community Baptist Church (Cox Road) with Rev. Larry Bullard officiating. Mr. Webb will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at 4 p.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery

Survivors are his daughter, Ranee Webb Bullard of Evans and her husband Larry; his son Michael Webb of Newnan and his wife, Dianne; sister, Virginia Webb Pursell of Conyers, Ga.; brother, John Webb, Woodville Texas ; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Webb was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Nellie Benson Webb; and a grandson, Jonathan Lynn Webb.
Mr. Webb was born
in Atlanta Jan. 31, 1921 to Earl Avery and Myrtice Cowan Webb. He attended Commercial High School. While in high school he joined the Georgia National Guard Co. E, 2nd BN., 122 INF. After high school, he was employed by the Atlanta Gas and Light Co. for 44 years, retiring as a builder consultant in the Buckhead office. During WWII he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a machinist mate third class aboard the USS Eugene E. Elmore DE686. He saw combat in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He was a member of the Baptist faith and taught Sunday school for 10-year-old boys for 20 years and also served as a deacon. He attended Evans Community Baptist Church. He was an assistant scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop #6 in Decatur and was a past president of the Kiwanis Club.
Pallbearers will be Chris Stephens, Chip Brown, Darren Couch, Tim Mulkey, Scott Bullard, Andy Bullard and Stephen Edwards.

Mr. William Reginald Hamby
Mr. Reginald Hamby, age 92, of Newnan, died April 23, 2004 at his residence. A native of Greenville, Ga., he was born
June 8, 1911 to the late Charles Leonard and Elizabeth Coleman Hamby.
His formal education ended with the tenth grade as his help was needed by his father to provide for their large family. On Jan. 16, 1932, he was married
to Opal Fuller in Moreland, Ga. She would remain by his side providing for their own family for the next 72 years, and survives him now.
To this marriage were born
their children, Jane Bass, whose husband is Horace, of Newnan; Betty Loftin, whose husband is Leo, of Moreland; and Loretta Hamby of Newnan. A son, William Reginald "Billy" Hamby, Jr. preceded him in death in 1993. His grandchildren are Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Loftin of Sanford, Fla.; Glenn Loftin of Moreland, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Davis of Carrollton, Mr. and Mrs. Blake Bass, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Bass, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Pettite and Mr. and Mrs. Brent Bass all of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gray of Suwanee, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Gregg of Roswell, and Mr. Marty Hamby of Alpharetta. there are 20 great grandchildren. His sisters are Mrs. Evelyn Barber of Luthersville, Mrs. Sarah Hubbard of Newnan, and a brother Mr. Jessie Hamby of Cochran. A sister-in-law is Mrs. Ruby Hamby of Marietta.
Mr. Hamby was a farmer for a short while after his marriage, but soon became a worker in the textile mills that were more dependable as means of supporting a growing family. For 15 years he worked at William L. Bonnell. Most recently, he was a well-known fixture to the thousands who visited the doctors at Papp Clinic, as he served as the kind and gentle security guard there for 15 years.
The funeral service for Mr. Hamby will be conducted on Monday, April 26 at 4 p.m. at the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with his pastor, Dr. Gene Tyre officiating. Interment will be in the family plot at Oak Hill Cemetery. His grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to The First Baptist Church Building Fund. McKoon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. James Buford (J.B.) Long
Mr. James Buford (J.B.) Long of Newnan died April 24 at Newnan Hospital. He was born
in Carroll County on May 30, 1924. He was retired from Adams Transport. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Victory Tabernacle Church. Surviving are wife, Virginia Long of Newnan; daughters and sons-in-law Patti Reid of Senoia, June and Tommy Denny of Newnan, Vicki and Larry Webb of Newnan; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 15 step great-grandchildren.

Mr. Roy Lee Canady ("Tender Foot") of Newnan died Tuesday, April 20, 2004.
Mr. Canady was born
in May 18, 1922, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Will (Annie) Canady in Troup County. He was the first-born.
Funeral services for Mr. Canady will be held today at the chapel of Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home. Rev. Melvin Brittian will officiate, assisted by Rev. Larry Barner and Minister D.L. Dennis. Interment will be at Southview Cemetery

Mr. William Henry Ford
Mr. William Henry Ford of Newnan died Thursday, April 22, 2004, at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Ford was born
April 18, 1927, to Otis and Julie Ann (Crawford) Ford. He was in the Merchant Marines Army Transport Service in World War II and was a self-employed contractor. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Henry Ford, in 1979.
Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel with Interment at the Pitts Family Cemetery. The family received friends Friday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mary Neely
Mrs. Mary Neely ("Aunt Mate") died Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at her residence at 560 Howard Hughes Road in Newnan. She was preceded in death by her parents and 15 brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Neely was born
Sept. 14, 1920, to Author and Jimmie Lou Gibson of Newnan. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Church under the leadership of Rev. Spivy. She later joined St. Peter Baptist Church with her husband, Richmon H. Neely. She served there faithfully until her health failed.
She loved, cared for and helped her many nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She was a long-time employee for Drs. Nat and Howard Glovers' children's clinic, where she worked to help take care of the "babies" for over 30 years.
Funeral services for Mrs. Neely will be Sunday, April 25, 2004, at 2 p.m. at St. Peter Baptist Church. Rev. Clinton Melson, a eulogist, will be assisted by pastor Rev. Kenneth Curtis and Rev. Cephus Beadles. Remains will be placed instate at 12:30 p.m., and Interment will be held at Eastview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Deacon Sanford Cousin, Deacon Curtis Jenkins, Ernest Cousin, Steven Hill, Tommie Cook, Willie Cousin and Lonnie Freeland.
Survivors include her loving husband, Mr. R. H. Neely ("H"); one son, Harold Gibson; one grandson, Gregory Odell Gibson; five "very special" nieces, Nellie Elder, Irma Reid, Teresa Strozier, Diane Leigh and Gail Warner; one daughter-in-law, Geneva Gibson; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.

Mr. William T. Bryan Jr.
Mr. William T. Bryan Jr., 85, of Groveland, Mass. died Monday, April 19, 2004 at Weymouth Healthcare Center in Weymouth, Mass.
Mr. Bryan was born
Jan. 30, 1919 in Turin to the late William Thomas and Artie Lee (Stevenson) Bryan. He was educated in Sharpsburg.
Mr. Bryan served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the 45th Infantry Division, 189th Field Artillery Battalion. He saw action in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Germany.
During his service, he was awarded the Bronze Star and two Oak Leaf Clusters for heroic achievement, as well as the Purple Heart.
Mr. Bryan had been employed by Lucent Technologies Inc. in North Andover, Mass., formerly Western Electric Company. He previously was employed by Ryan Chrysler-Plymouth Auto Sales Company in Haverhill.
His wife, Madeline C. Garaventa Bryan, died Feb. 24, 1999. Mr. Bryan was a member of St. Patrick's Parish in Groveland.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 22, from 4-7 p.m. at C. Frank Linnehan and Sons Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill, Mass.
The funeral will be today, April 23, at 9 a.m. at Linnehan Funeral Home. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Groveland. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Groveland.

Ms. Flora Harcourt
Ms. Flora Harcourt, 77, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at her home in Palmetto, Ga., after a lengthy illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Luther and Billy Harcourt and her sister Barbara.
Ms. Harcourt was born
Feb. 20, 1927, to Chaffee Harcourt and Maggie Cochran Harcourt in Palmetto. She was a retired nurse anesthetist, employed by Newnan Hospital and Anesthecare. In fact, she was the first anesthetist in Newnan and was in this capacity for over 40 years.
She retired in 1991 but returned after a short break to work part-time until last year. After graduating from high school in Palmetto, she entered Georgia Baptist School of Nursing in 1944. She later worked at Cornell Medical Center in New York City and then back to Newnan Hospital as a nurse. In 1954, she entered Mercy School of Anesthesia in Springfield, Mass. In 1955, she returned to Newnan Hospital as a nurse anesthetist. A long-time member of Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, she currently attended St. Paul Episcopal Church in Newnan.
A graveside service for Ms. Harcourt will be held at the Floral Hill Cemetery

Mr. Harold H. Hodge of Newnan died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at Atlanta Medical Center.
Mr. Hodge was born
Nov. 25, 1933, to William and Vessie (Phillips) Hodge in Troup County. A self-employed used car dealer and a U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and loved hunting and fishing.
A graveside funeral service will be held today at 3:30 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery. Rev. Carlin Phillips, Rev. J.C. Cook and Rev. Terry Calhoun will officiate. Pallbearers will be Michael Robards, Joseph Robards, W. L. Winkles, Doug Phillips, Mike Moran and Tim Patterson. Visitation was Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sara Jane Norwood died Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at Dogwood Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born
July 5, 1925, in Polk County to Robert Lee and Winnie (Baldwin) Pyles. Mrs. Norwood was a spinner/folder in the textile industry at "Lady Arrow."
Surviving are her daughter, Nan Chapman of Calhoun; sisters, Agnes Martin of College Park and Elizabeth McComb of Cedartown; brothers, Posey Pyles and Robert Pyles of Cedartown and Jimmy Pyles of Chattanooga; seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
