Mrs. Frances J. "Honeymama" Cason of Sharpsburg died Monday, April 28, 2003.
Mrs. Cason was a member of Arnco Baptist Church in Newnan and was also a member of the Fairburn Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William Miles Cason and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. C A. (Myra) Jernigan, Sharpsburg; sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford (Pat) Cason, Rock Springs, Ga.; Mr. and Mrs. Donald (Yolande) Cason, Lithonia; grandchildren, Pamela Tufts, Paul C. Jernigan, Philip C. Jernigan, Phoebe Williams, William Cason Jr., Yvonne Betsill, Cheryl Chandler, Juanita Tucker, Scott Cason; 17 great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gray, widower of Maggie Costley Gray, died Monday, April 28. He was born
in Carroll County, Ga. and was a son of the late Otis and Leila Boatright Gray. He formerly worked construction at the Savannah River Plant, was a member of Local Boiler Maker's Union in Charleston, a member of Hope Masonic Lodge #126. He was a World War II Army veteran.
Surviving are daughters, Gail Baxley and Audrey Gray, both of Williston; sons, Gordon Gray of Williston, Stanley and Earl Gray, both of Aiken; sister, Nellie Payne of Newnan, Ga.; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild, Maggie Chavis.

Mr. William B. (Bill) Rainwater of Riverdale, Ga., died April 27, 2003.
He was born

Mr. Thomas "Tom" Butler Royal Jr., 67, died Saturday, April 26, 2003.
Mr. Royal was born
January 10, 1936 in Fulton County, Ga. and grew up in Homestead, Florida. As a child, Mr. Royal survived polio, which struck him at the age of ten. He became the poster boy for the March of Dimes.
He was a graduate of the University of Miami where he studied radio and TV. He worked for the International Paper Company in Homestead, Fla., and in North Miami. He then moved to Georgia where he was employed with the Atlanta Crackers' baseball organization. In 1962 he moved to Newnan and worked as a radio announcer for WCOH. He married
Gail Nicholson, a Newnan High School English teacher, in 1963. He worked in purchasing at Playtex and Royal Molded in Newnan. Later, he worked part-time at Wal-Mart in Newnan and was involved in restaurants locally.
Tom contributed much to the athletic scene in Newnan. He announced baseball, football and basketball games, thereby earning the title, "The Voice of the Cougars." Tom was a member of the Jaycees, the Elks Club, the Newnan Players Theater Group, and the First Baptist Church of Newnan.
His wife, Gail Royal of Newnan, Ga., and two children survive him, Scott Thomas Royal of Newnan and Kelly Leigh Touchstone of Newnan. His mother, Audrey Royal of Peachtree City, Ga. and four brothers also survive him, Jack Royal of Boston, Massachusetts, Bill Royal of Senoia, Ga., Dan Umbach of Newnan, Ga. and Jim Royal of Peachtree City, Ga.; two grandchildren, Thomas William Touchstone and Sophia Audrey Royal, both of Newnan, along with many other relatives.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 29 at First Baptist Church in Newnan, Ga. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.

Mr. John Edward Moultrie
Mr. John Edward Moultrie, 90, of Newnan, died Friday, April 25, 2003.
Born May 26, 1912, Mr. Moultrie was the son of the late John Walton and Jessie Moultrie.
He was retired from Duran-Wayland Machine Company, where he was a plant superintendent. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Woodbury Lions Club, and he was a 50-year mason with the Woodbury Masonic Lodge.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 28, 2003, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, with Reverend Larry Patton officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Woodbury City Cemetery. Visitation is today between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Higgins Hillcrest Funeral Home.

Thomas Carmichael was born
July 12, 1915 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Dawson Carmichael in Coweta County. He joined China Grove Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board.

Born September 25, 1949 in Troup County, Mrs. Estes was the daughter of the late Frank and Winnie Lou Buttrum McClain. She lived in LaGrange most of her life and was a member of LaGrange Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a graduate of West Georgia Technical College, was a licensed practical nurse, and was employed at West Georgia Medical Center.
Surviving are husband, Kenneth Estes; step-daughter, Donna Marie Estes; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and James Duke; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Toni McClain, all of LaGrange; two step-grandsons, Chuck Brooks and Lee Brooks; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roger McClain.

Clotealous Lewis was born
April 3, 1940, in Bremen, Ga., to the late Marie Buttrick and Herman Lewis. She was one of six children. Her Christian life began at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Bremen, Ga. In 1974 she joined Friendship Baptist Church in Newnan where she served on the Usher Board.

Mr. James C. Hay, 97, of Tallahassee, Fla., and a native of Hogansville, Ga., died Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee.

Mr. Hay was born
March 6, 1906 in Hogansville, son of the late Carl and Ira Gamble Hay. A former resident of Miami, Florida, he had lived in Tallahassee since 1970 and was retired from Gulf Life Insurance Company. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War Two and served in the Naval Reserve for many years. Mr. Hay was a deacon of the First Baptist Church of Tallahassee, was a life member of the Tallahassee Optimist Club, was very active in AARP, and was a 53-year Mason and member of Jackson Lodge #1. He served in the first Florida Silver Haired Legislature and served on the Governor's Committee for Transportation of the Disadvantaged in Florida.
Surviving are his wife, Cora Lee Green Hay of Tallahassee; three sons, James C. Hay Jr. of Ocala, Fla., Larry V. Hay of Ft. Myers, Fla., and William L. (Pete) Hay of Havana, Fla.; one daughter, Katherine V. Rager of Antioch, Tenn.; sister, Marie Robinson of Hendersonville, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren.

June 25, 1942, in Carroll County to Mattie Lou Burnett Reese and the late John E. Reese.
Mr. Reese was a supervisor at the Bonnell Company in Newnan.

Mrs. Kathryn Paxton Jones, 91, of Hillrise Boulevard, Johnson, City, Tennessee, died Thursday, April 17, 2003 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Jones was a Defiance, Ohio, native who had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late John Fred and Bessie Drain Paxton.
Mrs. Jones was a graduate of Ohio State University. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church.
For many years she wrote a regular column on birds for the Johnson City Press. She was also a member of the Lee Herndon Chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Monday Club, the American Penwomen and the Dilettantes Book Club. She was the long-time chairwoman for the Johnson City Mayne Williams Public Library.
In additon to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Carl A. Jones Jr., former publisher of Carl A. Jones Newspapers; one brother and two sisters.
Surviving are three sons, Tim P. Jones and Carleton A. Jones III, both of Johnson City, and John A. Jones, Unicoi; daughter, Alice J. Torbett, Knoxville; brother, John A. Paxton, Clevelnd, OH; sister, Janet P. Cannon, Cincinnati, OH; sister-in-law, Mrs. H. L.
