Mrs. Vera Smith, 83 of Atlanta, Ga. died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
A funeral will be Saturday, Feb. 15 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary United Methodist Church in Hogansville, Ga. Rev. Gregory Williams will officiate, and burial will be in Westview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends beginning noon Saturday at the church.

Mr. William "Ken" Goodwin, 68, of Newnan, formerly of East Point, Ga., died Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Goodwin was born
in 1934 to Thomas and Bertha Goodwin in Ben Hill, Ga., where he grew up and attended Russell High, graduating from Southwest High School.
After High School he served in the U.S. Army, spending several years in Germany in the Signal Corp. After returning home, he attended Georgia State University.
Mr. Goodwin was a self-employed produce broker and worked at the Atlanta Farmer's Market until his retirement. After retirement, he moved to Newnan to be near his family. When he was a young man in elementary school he acquired the nickname "Rough House," which stuck with him throughout his life. Mr. Goodwin is survived by two sons, Jason Blade Goodwin and wife Sandy of Newnan, Ga. and Johnny Justice Goodwin of Locust Grove, Ga.; brother, James Goodwin and his wife Jane of Birmingham, Ala.; sister, Allie Goodwin of Aiken, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Gracie, Levi and Samantha Goodwin, and many friends.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 at White Oak First Baptist Church in Newnan, Ga. with Rev. Rhodes Skinner officiating.

Mr. Thomas Edward "Ya" Green, formerly of Grantville, Ga., died Saturday, February 8, 2003, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Montgomery, Ala.

Mr. Green was born
May 4, 1947 in Grantville, Ga. to the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas (Betty) A. Green. He was loved and raised by the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude (Izola) Meriwether, and graduated from Central High School in 1966. From there he later joined the Army.
April 28, 1989 he married
the late Bobbie A. Green, and they had one son, Charles Andrew Green.

L.Teagle, and Evangelist Susie Hudson. The remains will lie in state at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the service.

Mr. Leslie, son of Mrs. Charlie Mae Leslie and the late Mr. Sam Leslie, was born
April 9, 1939 in Pine Mountain, Ga. He attended the Troup County Public School System. As a young boy, he confessed Christ and joined Ebenezer Baptist Church in Pine Mountain. As a young man he moved to Atlanta, Ga. and began his career as a dry wall contractor and worked diligently in this field for over 45 years, contracting with numerous companies. He was married
to the late Sheena Reena Leslie in 1991.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Charlie Mae Leslie; daughters, Cathy M. Mrs. Christine Lovett York, 87, of Mayo, Fla., and a former resident of Alvaton, Ga., died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003 at Good Samaritan Center in Dowling Park, Fla.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16 at Bethel Baptist Church in the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County. Dr. Billy Burks will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1-2 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. York was born
March 22, 1915 in Meriwether County, daughter of the late Jetson and Josie Irene Rowe Lovett. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and was the wife of the late Wilson A. York.
Surviving are daughter-in-law, Amelia K. York of Tampa, Fla.; three grandchildren, Joanne and Ritchie Page of Mayo, Fla., Shannon and Jim Beale and Glenn York, all of Tampa; three sisters, Elma McCleary of Pennsylvania , Paula Campbell of New Jersey and Sue Woodward of Delaware; four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Alfred J. York.

Mr. Reginald Henry Duncan
Mr. Reginald "Reggie" Duncan, 66, of Newnan, Ga., died Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Duncan was born
in Newnan 1936 to Henry and Arnettie Duncan where he grew up and spent his life. Mr. Duncan was a Relief Man at General Motors for 31 years before his retirement and also worked part time for Sonny Gentry Motor Company. He was a mechanically talented man who enjoyed anything to do with automobiles. Whether it was building them, repairing them, or watching them race, cars were his passion. He was also a generous man who would help anyone who asked. Mr. Duncan attended the Whitesburg Christian Church in Whitesburg, Ga.
Mr. Duncan is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mrs. Janice Duncan; three daughters, Lawana Knight and husband Randy of Carrollton, Pat Addison of Newnan, and Nan Ferebee and husband William of Wedowee, Ala.; a son, Steve Addison of Newnan; two brothers, Roy Duncan and wife Frances of Newnan and Jack Duncan and wife Mary Jo of Newnan; two sisters, Lucille Phillips of Newnan and Betty Duncan Burks of Moreland; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Rev. Carey Duncan, precedes him in death.
Pallbearers were Josh Hawkesworth, Stephen Gordon, Phillip Brown, Charlie Gordon, Oliver Gentry III and Kirby Duncan. Honorary pallbearers are Sonny Gentry, Bobby Davis and Steve Addison Jr.

Mrs. Mary Ellen Craft Hester, 79, of Franklin, Ga., died Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at the LaGrange Hospice after several months of declining health.
Mrs. Hester was born
April 27, 1923 to the late John Craft and Rosa Ann Bates Craft. She was member of the Centralhatchee Baptist Church and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
A funeral will be Friday, Feb. 14 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs, Ga. The family will receive guests at the funeral home Thursday, Feb. 13 from 5-7 p.m.

Miss Payton was born
Sept. 28, 1915 in Coweta County, daughter of the late William and Ida Graham Tucker. A lifelong resident of Coweta County, she was a member of Welcome Road Baptist Church and retired as a supervisor from Altermann Foods.
Surviving are a niece and two nephews, Christine Pitts of Lineville, Ala., William L. and Carey Tucker and Herman Tucker, all of Newnan; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mr. Stanley Oscar Criswell, 47, of Newnan, Ga., died Sunday, February 9, 2003.
Mr. Criswell was born
in Newnan in 1955 to Oscar and Mildred Criswell; and, although he moved to Carrollton shortly after his birth, he spent most of his life in Newnan where he worked in the construction business as a carpenter. Mr. Criswell enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and going fishing. He was a talented man who loved working with his hands.
Mr. Criswell is survived by his wife of 29 years, Regina Criswell; three daughters, Teresa Shelnutt and husband Carey of Newnan, Dawn Shelnutt and husband Bill also of Newnan,and Ellen Ferrell and husband Eddie of Hogansville; five sisters, Marie Watson, Maino Dewberry, Joyce Scott, Alice Jordan, all of Newnan, and Peggy Rigsby of Tucscon, Arizona; eleven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Mrs. Kay Mas Goldstein
Mrs. Kay Mas Goldstein, 88, of Newnan, Ga., died Sunday, evening, February 9, 2003 at her home in Newnan after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Goldstein was born
in Spain but moved to New York City early in her life. Mrs. Goldstein was an energetic and very talented lady. Not only could she fly airplanes, but was also an avid artist who specialized in oils and particularly loved to paint landscapes and her family engaged in their hobbies.
During WWII she was a "Rosie the Riveter" and met her husband Max who was a foreman in the plant before going off to the war himself. Prior to moving to Newnan four years ago, she lived in Homestead, Florida.
In addition to her art, she loved to garden and read, especially the Bible. She was a member of the Newnan Congregation of Jehovah's Witness, but most of all a devoted and loving mother, wife and grandmother.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Mr. Max Goldstein of Newnan; four sons, Frank Goldstein of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, David Goldstein of Jonesboro, Ga., Richard Goldstein and Sam Goldstein, both of Newnan, Ga.; five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11 at Jones Funeral Home.

Mrs. Inez Johnson Guy, 96, of Hogansville, Ga., died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003 at Florence Hand Home in LaGrange, Ga.

in Hogansville. The Rev. Marion Shivers will officiate.

Mrs. Guy was born
January 15, 1907 in Hogansville, daughter of the late Banjamin and Nancy Rebecca Cleaveland Johnson. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, she was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville and retired as an elementary school teacher from the Hogansville School System. Mrs. Guy was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Hogansville, where she had been active in the Presbyterian Women, and was a former member of the Afternoon Bridge Club in Hogansville. She was the wife of the late Ben B. Guy.
Surviving are sister, Mrs. Becky Henderson of Fletcher, North Carolina; brother, Lamar Johnson of Decatur, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

Little Miss Asia Danielle Hill was born
Nov. 6, 2002 and died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003.
She was born
in Coweta County, daughter of Mr. Dorian Hill and Ms. Sophia Britt of Peachtree City.
Preceding her in death were grandparents the late Mr. Lewis Hill and the late Mrs. Willie C. Hill who were from Newnan.

July 28, 1945 in Winthrop, MA. He worked as an Avionic Technician for the airline industry and he also served in the military in Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Carol Jersey of Newnan; and son, Mark and Julie Jersey, also of Newnan.
