Mrs. Joyce Page Hand, 70, of Washington Street, LaGrange, GA. died Monday, December 30, 2002, at Hospice LaGrange.
She had lived in LaGrange all of her life. She was born
July 10, 1932 in Marion County, Georgia, daughter of M. L. (Jack) Page and Mae Humphrey Page. She worked as a secretary in the trucking industry in LaGrange and retired after 10 years at GMAC and 20 years at Vaughn Transportation. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church. She was a graduate of the LaGrange High School class of 1950 and a former resident of the Calumet Community.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003 at Unity Baptist Church. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery
in Columbus, Ga.
Pallbearers will be Terry Vaughan, Chase Vaughan, Anthony Kitchens, Robert Cordele, Chuck Dye and Bill McGee.

Mr. Harold R. Braswell, 70, of the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003 at Newnan Hospital East.
A funeral will be 4 p.m. Saturday, March 1 in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Wayne Settle will officiate, and burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery
in Rocky Mount.

Mr. Braswell was born
May 3, 1932 in Meriwether County, son of the late Clarence Virgil Braswell and the late Clara Rowe Braswell. A lifelong resident of Meriwether County, he was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was retired from Shaw Industries in Newnan. He was a loving husband and father.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Sarah Caldwell Braswell of Rocky Mount; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Demetrio Escadon of Newnan; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Dennis and Donna Braswell of Greenville, Richard Braswell and Chad Braswell, both of Luthersville; one sister, Josie Wyche of Newnan; five grandchildren, Daniel Braswell, Christian Escadon, Regina Fuller, Damon Blankenship, and Kim Ellis; three great-grandchildren, Austin Chaffin, Adam Blankenship and Amy Ellis.

Mrs. Pharon Jacks Huntsman, 60, of Milledgeville, Ga., died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2003 at her home.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1 at Old Pathway Baptist Church in LaGrange, with Pastor Sam Mitchell officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 until 9 Friday night.
Born Oct. 22, 1942 in Rock Mills, Ala., Mrs. Huntnsman lived in Jonesboro before making her home in Milledgeville in 2000. She was a member of the Baptist Church. She was ready to join her father, Durward Franklin Jacks, and her mother, Bertha Clark Jacks, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are husband, Joe Huntsman of Milledgeville; daughter, Sonja Michelle Kane and her husband, Roy, of Tampa, Fla.; son, Keith Hurley, also of Tampa; sister and brother-in-law, Fay and Edward Morris of Hogansville; three grandchildren, Harrison Kane and Isabella Kane, both of Tampa, and Keith Hurley Jr. of Hampton.

Mr. Lee Hugh Turner
Mr. Lee Hugh Turner, 84, of College Park, Ga., died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003 of kidney failure.
A native of Henry County, Ga., Mr. Turner was born
Nov. 12, 1918, the day after Armistice Day of the First World War. He was originally named Pershing LeHugh Turner, after two military leaders of that war. He moved to the College Park area shortly after his marriage. Mr. Turner was a founding member of Liberty Baptist Church, formerly of College Park, Ga. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of College Park at the time of his death. He retired from Southern Railroad, formerly Central of Georgia Railroad.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mrs. Anne C. Turner, and by his daughter, Dorothy Lee Turner, who died in 1960, also of kidney failure.
Surviving are daughter, Gloria Turner Dugger and son-in-law, Dudley B. Dugger, of Senoia; twin granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, LeAnne Dugger Sears and Terry Sears of College Park, and Lynn Dugger Jones and Clark Jones of Ocilla; granddaughter and grandson-in-law Laura Dugger Nolan and Marty Nolan of Atlanta; five great-granddaughters, Cypris and Alexandra Jones, Ansley Sears, and twins, Katie Lynn nd Laura Grace Sears; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Manders of Powder Springs and Mrs. Daphne Eller of Ranburne, Alabama; numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at graveside Friday, Feb. 28 in College Park Cemetery. Mr. Walter Huff officiating. Family and friends to assemble at the funeral home by noon.

Miss Weed was born
Aug. 25, 1947 in Fulton County, Ga. to the late George Howard and (Edna) Hudgens Weed. She was a homemaker.
A funeral will be at Union City Bible Church of God Friday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. The remains will lie in state from 1-3 p.m. Rev. Talmadge Crawford and Rev. Jamie Dingler will officiate.

Mrs. Nellie H. Ayers, 94, of Carrollton, Ga., died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003.
She was born
April 29, 1908 in Chambers County, AL, to the late Ramsey Hanson and Mae Norred Hanson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Osborn; husband, Clayton Ayers; daughter, Peggy Osborn; granddaughter, Deanna Garner; and seven brothers and sisters.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, James and Joan Osborn of Carrollton, Ga.; daughter, Bette Greathouse of West Point; step-son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Laraine Ayers of Sharpsburg; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be Friday, Feb. 28 at 11 a.m. at Martin and Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Mike Ayers and Rev. Jerome Mitchell officiating. Mrs. Miriam L. Jones, 73, of Newnan, Ga., died February 24, 2003 in Newnan.
She was born
January 15, 1930 in Talbot County, daughter of the late Alton E. and Grace Weaver Ligon.
For more than 30 years she was associated with Sears Roebuck, retiring as an assistant manager. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
A funeral was held at graveside Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. in Talbotton Cemetery
with Rev. Ed Bowman officiating. Visitation was held at the funeral home Tuesday evening.
Surviving are sons, Greg Jones of Newnan, Hal Jones and his wife Bebe of Montgomery, Alabama, Jerrell Jones and his wife Julie of Batton Rouge, Louisiana, and Mark Jones and his wife Donna of Newnan; brother, Wayne Ligon and his wife Brenda of Newnan; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and two nieces.

Mrs. Caldwell was born
Jan. 19, 1924 in Coweta County, daughter of the late John Landon Martin and the late Ada Todd Martin. She lived in Hogansville most of her life, was a member of the Hogansville Senior Center, and retired from International Playtex after more than 30 years of service. She was the wife of the late Marcus Caldwell, and was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Hogansville, where she was active in the WMU and was a former Sunday School teacher.
Surviving are two sons, Gary Caldwell of Yelm, Washington and John Caldwell of Pinole, California; sister, Mrs. Vivian Carden of Newnan; granddaughter, Miss Jennifer Caldwell of Tempe, Arizona; and a niece, Mrs. Frankie Ashmore of Newnan.

Born March 4, 1919, in Randolph County, Ala., Mrs. Hester was the daughter of the late S. T. and Dusky Heard Philpot. She had lived in Hogansville since 1946, was a member of the Hogansville Church of God, and was retired from Uniroyal Inc.
Surviving are daughter, Dottie Stevens of Hogansville; step-mother, Grace Philpot; half-sister, Joan Finley, both of Delavan, Wis.; three grandchildren, Kim and James Moon and Bruce and Tracie Stevens, all of LaGrange, and Kerry and Mark Sinns of Hogansville; five great-grandchildren, James Moon, Jessica Moon, and Caroline Stevens, all of LaGrange, and Nick Sinns and Meridith Sinns, both of Hogansville; and a special cousin, Ed and Martha Griffin of Williamson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Philpot.

Mr. Lynch was born
March 27, 1938 to the late Willie Jim and Mattie Ruth Lynch. He was the fourth child of eight siblings.
At an early age he joined the Saint Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully until his health failed. He loved to sing God's praises. He was an employed at William L Bonnell Company for 12 years.

Mrs. Martha Grimes Wood, 96, of Milledgeville, Ga., died Feb. 22, 2003.

in Milledgeville.
Mrs. Wood was a native of Coweta County but made her home in Milledgeville for many years. She received her two-year teacher certificate from Georgia Normal and Industrial College in 1948. She also received her Bachelor's Degree from Georgia State College for Women and her master's in 1954 from Mercer University. She taught at City Elementary and served as principal of West End and Northside Elementary School and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Milledgeville and the Eastern Star.
Surviving are son, Freddie Wood of Atlanta; two grandchildren, Reid deJarnette Wood of Brevard, N.C., and Reynolds Wood of Jackson, Miss; two great-grandchildren, Noah Wood and Zion Wood, both of Jackson, Miss.; a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. for friends to call.

Mr. Ryan Boslet
Mr. Ryan Boslet, 17, of Alpharetta, Ga., died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003.
A junior at Chattahoochee High School and a member of the Johns Creek Baptist Church, Ryan was a two-year Varsity football letterman and a member of the track team. He was a good student who loved his Chili Pepper red Jeep Wrangler. He had great aspirations of playing college football and died during a high school practice session. Both the students and their families genuinely loved him. Ryan was a best friend to many and was a model son and brother. He shared in his friends' victories and suffered in their sorrows.
Many involved with the Bicycle Ride Across Georgia events may have met Ryan, who was active with the BRAG rides with his grandfather, Jack Binion of Newnan.
Ryan had an easy, contagious smile and a great sense of humor, which made simple outings with family and friends an adventure. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

She was born
August 24, 1937 in Columbia, TN, daughter of the late Thomas O. and the late Dorothy (Morgan) Butler.
She was a pastor's and financial secretary at First Baptist Church in Fairburn, Ga. for more than 26 years and was retired. She was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas O. Butler Jr. and Robert C. Butler. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Newnan.

Mr. Danny Ray Helton, 53, of North Highway 16, Whitesburg, Ga., died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003.
He was born
June 12, 1949 in Carroll County to Louise Terrell Helton and the late William Ray Helton. Mr. Helton owned and operated the Trading Post on Columbia Drive. Besides his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents Crofford and Minnie Helton.
