Mr. Albert Bruce Boone
Mr. Albert Bruce Boone, 85, of Newnan, died Thursday, January 9, 2003 at his residence.

Mr. Bone was born September 29, 1917 in Coweta County, Ga. He was a memer of Arnco Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at McKoon Funeral Home Saturday, Jan. 11 from 5-7 p.m.

A funeral will be Sunday, Jan. 12 at 4 p.m. Dr. C. A. Jernigan will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Gary Boone, Dan Wilson, Jimmy Walden, Bob Harris, Jimbo Boone and Robbie Harris.

Surviving are his wife, Martha Kee Boone; three daughters, Margie (Boone) Harris of Newnan, Betty (Boone) Story of Sampson, Ala., and Cindy Boone of Newnan; son, Danny Boone of Newnan; brother, Hollis Boone of Newnan; three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by son James Boone and grandson Danny Boone.

Mr. William F. Lee Sr

Mr. William F. Lee Sr., 87, of Newnan, died Friday, January 10, 2003.

Mr. Lee was born October 1, 1915 in Newnan, son of J. Frank Lee and Frances Herring Lee. He graduated from Newnan High School and also received a degree in pharmacy from Auburn University in 1937 where he was head cheerleader and a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.

On graduation from Auburn he began work as a pharmacist for Lee-King Drug Company in Newnan with his father and his uncle, the late John Robert King. He became the proprieter of Lee-King Drug Company and continued his work there until retirement at age 81. For many years he was in partnership with his son, Robert L. Lee, who still operates the business which now consists of three stores.

August 15, 1940 he married Martha Park Culpepper, to whom he was married for fifty years and who preceded him in death.

His work was interrupted when he served as an officer in the United States Army during World War II after which he was discharged with the rank of Captian.

He was a president of the Georgia Pharmaceutical Association, a past president of the Newnan Rotary Club, a member of the Newnan Country Club, and a member of the Central Baptist Church.

Surviving are children, Judge William F. Lee Jr., Robert L. Lee, and Martha Lee Child; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. W. Y. Ellis.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Jan. 11 from 6-8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home.

A funeral will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan Sunday, Jan. 12 at 2 p.m. with Dr. Joel Richardson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Central Baptist Church, P. O. Box 1221, Newnan, GA 30264.

Ms. Patricia James Heath-Penson
Ms. Patricia James Heath-Penson died Monday, January 6, 2003 at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta.

A funeral will be Saturday, Jan. 11 at 1 p.m. at Sellers-Smith R. W. S. Memorial Chapel with Apostle Charles Davis officiating, assisted by Bishop Howard. Burial will be in the Carver Memorial Gardens in Jonesboro, Ga. Pallbearers will be nephews. Flower ladies will be nieces. On the day of the service the cortege will assemble at the residence at 11:30 a.m.

She was the daughter of the late Gracie Mae Redding and the late Ramon Earl Heath. She was born April 24, 1947 in Fayette County, Ga.

She was a very devoted mother and spouse. She was a member of the Rising Star Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Ga. Having church was her cup of tea. She loved to have fun and was always willing to lend a hand even when her hands were tied behind her back.

Surviving are her husband, son, David Dwayne Price; three step-daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Elder (Giggie), Mr. and Mrs. Howard Calhoun (Kay) and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Brown (Jill); two step-sons, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Penson (Alice) and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Penson (Teresa); 12 sisters and brothers, Mrs. Betty Jo Gay, Mr. and Mrs. John Smith (Earlene), Mr. Willie Heath, Ms. Dorothy Redding, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Redding (Charlene), Ms. Betty Redding, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Redding (Diane), Ms. Ruth Gibbs, Mrs. Carolyn Redding, Ms Helen Redding and Ms. Francis Redding; ten grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Henry Jensen
Mr. Henry Jensen, 79, of Gordon Road, Moreland, Ga., died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003 at Newnan Hospital.

Mr. Jensen was born March 25, 1923 in St. Helena, NE. He was a member of Moreland United Methodist Church. He served in the Army during World War II in the South Pacific.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Jan. 11 from 5-7 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home.

A funeral will be Sunday, Jan. 12 at 2 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Billy Howell and Rev. Richard Huycke will officiate.

Surviving are his wife, Harriett (Williams) Jensen of Moreland, Ga.; daughter, Frandes Jensen of Taylorsville, Ga.; three sons, Tom Jensen of Elberton, Ga., Paul Jensen of Woodstock, Ga., and Bill Jensen of Newnan, Ga.; sister, Ellen Nielsen of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Francis Larsen of Correctionville, IA; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Donald W. Raine

Mr. Donald W. Rainey, 58, of Grantville, Ga., died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003 at his home.

A funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 at Westside Baptist Church in Newnan. The Rev. Richard Huycke and Dr. Melvin Payne will officiate, and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan.

Mr. Rainey was born September 17, 1944 in Coweta County, son of the late Thomas and Annie Will Jackson Rainey. He was a lifelong resident of Coweta County, was a retired building contractor, and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Mrs. Rainey enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and sharing his talent for woodworking with others.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Loyce Banks Rainey of Grantville; three daughters and their husbands, Tammy and Ricky Ayers, Renee and Scott Ward, and Donna Rainey, all of Grantville; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and Jerry Masdon of Peachtree City, Frances and Art Newton of Roswell, Ginny and Bill Satterfield of Gainesville, Ruth and Jim Singleton of Rockmart, and Edna and Calvin Childers of Sandy Springs; five grandchildren, Kyle Ward, Sidney Ward, Dalton Ayers, Rainey Ayers and Natalie Rainey.

Ms. Marjorie Zimmermann Shores
Ms. Marjorie Zimmermann Shores, 77, of Carrollton, Ga., formerly of Newnan, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at a local nursing home.

She was born August 22, 1925 in Buffalo, New York to the late George Joseph Zimmermann and Gertrude Cochrane Zimmermann. She was a retired college professor, having taught at Kaisei Women's College in Kobe, Japan, for more than 27 years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Surviving are the children's father, Commander Charles Severn Shores of Pensacola, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, Severn Austin and Peggy Feagle Shores of Villa Rica, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Madelyn Shores Dreyer and Colin Dreyer of San Francisco, CA; one brother and sister-in-law, George Michael and Helen Zimmermann of Buffalo, NY; five grandchildren, Mary, Severn Jr. and Maria, and Amanda Shores, Colin Charles Dreyer and Andrew David Dreyer; and one great-grandchild, Emmalise Shores; brother-in-law, Richard Powers of Los Angeles, CA, and beloved nieces and nephews in Los Angeles, New York and Germany.

In accordance with the family's wishes, the body was cremated. A memorial service will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

Mrs. Louise Haynes Terrell
Mrs. Louise Haynes Terrell, 78, of LaGrange, Ga., died Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.

A funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Billy McCollough and the Rev. Jimmy McMillian will officiate, and burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

Mrs. Terrell was born July 6, 1924 in Standing Rock, Alabama, daughter of the late Jesse an Myrtle Lanier Haynes. She lived in LaGrange most of her life, was a member of the Baptist Church, and was the wife of the late William C. Terrell Sr.

Surviving are five daughters, Betty Sue Patterson of Woodland, Ala., Sandra Lynn Sutton of Whitesburg, Toni Brown of Hogansville, Pam Coe of LaGrange, and Patricia Jo Prestridge of Newell, Ala.; three sons, Randall Terrell of Franklin, David Terrell of West Point, and Samuel Terrell of LaGrange; two sisters, Doris Sellers and Patricia Carlisle, both of LaGrange; brother, Jesse Lee Haynes Jr. of Birmingham, Ala.; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William C. Terrell Jr.

Mr. Russell M. Van Tuyl
Mr. Russell M. Van Tuyl, 96, died at his home in LaGrange, Ga. January 3, 2003.

Mr. Van Tuyl was a World War II Navy veteran and a retured United Airlines Captian.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rachel Pinson Van Tuyl; nephew, Paul Van Tuyl of San Antonio, Texas ; brother-in-law, John Blake Lanum; a nephew, Scott Lanum of Rockville, Maryland; niece, Christine Lanum Shaw; and a grand-niece, Rachel C. Shaw of Lake Forest, Illinois.

A graveside service in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan will be held Saturday, Jan. 11 at 11 a.m. with Dr. Gene Tyre officiating.

Mrs. Mary John Boggs Wortham
Mrs. Mary John Boggs Wortham, 80, died January 8, 2003 in Hixson, Tennessee, following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Clay County, Alabama, daughter of the late James W. and Ora Kuglar Boggs. She was a member of the Centralhatchee Baptist Church and retired from Sewell's Clothing Company.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis C. Wortham; sister, Martha Boggs Yeats; and brothers, J. W. Boggs and Hugh Boggs.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Jean Wortham; son, Chris G. Wortham; three sisters, Imogene Brannan, Kathryn Patrick, Wynelle Allen; brother, Joe B. Boggs; three grandchildren.

A funeral will be at Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home, Franklin, Ga. at 2 p.m. Jan. 11, 2003 with burial in Centralhatchee Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, Jan. 10 fom 6-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Asociety for Research.

Mr. Larry E. Rowe, formerly of Newnan, died in Germany January 6, 2002.

He was the son of the late Deacon Charlie C. Rowe and Mrs. Tommie Lou Rowe.

Mrs. Helen Louise Rudley-Dixon, "Mrs. D," of Newnan, Ga., died Friday, January 3, 2002 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Ga., following an extended illness.

Mrs. Dixon was born Feb. 5, 1947 to Viloa Wood and the late James C. Rudley. She joined Mount Sinai Baptist Church at an early age.

Surviving are two sons, James Eric Rudley and Fredrick Orlando Dixon Sr. of College Park, Ga.; grandchildren, Erica, Raynordo, Kiya, Scottdria, Fredick Jr., Fredale, Kaceon and Elysia; sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Starks (Annette) of College Park, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Willie Howard (Barbara) of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Betty Wilburn, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Smith (Batrice) of Newnan, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Willie Person (Gail) of Franklin, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Billy Duffey (Mary Ann) of Jackson, Alabama, Ms. Claudette Moore of Detroit, Michigan; brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Buford Newson (Jackie), Mr. and Mrs. James C. Satterwhite (Martha) of Newnan, Jarvis Newson of Cleveland, Ohio, Johnny F. Harris of Fairburn, Ga., Robert Rudley of Hogansville, Ga.; step-mother, Jeanette Strozier-Rudley of Jackson, Ala.; aunts, Mrs. Odessa R. She was preceded in death by a son, Scottie Lewis Dixon.

Mrs. Elsie Viola Ballensinger
Mrs. Elsie Viola Ballensinger, 79, of Newnan, Ga., formerly of Tampa, Florida, died Sunday, January 5, 2003 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center in Newnan.

Mrs. Ballensinger was a Florida native and lived in Tampa all of her life until 7 years ago when she moved to Newnan to be near her family.

A homemaker, she loved the beach and everything about being in Florida. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Port Tampa, Florida, all of her life.

Mrs. Ballensinger is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years at his death, Mr. William Joseph Ballensinger.

Surviving are a son, Mr. William (Al) Ballensinger and his wife Janice, of Newnan; a brother, Mr. Henry Merrill Daniel of Sarasota, Florida; grandchild, Anne Marie McLaughlin of York, Pennsylvannia; several nieces and nephews.

At Mrs. Ballensinger's request, no service is planned; and her ashes will be mingled with her husband's and scattered into the Gulf of Mexico at a later date.

Mr. David M. Dopp, 54, of Hogansville, Ga., died Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at the Brian Center of Nursing Care in LaGrange.

A funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9 in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Charles Crenshaw and the Rev. David Pickard will officiate, and burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 Wednesday night.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Smith, Thurman Bledsoe, Ronnie Meacham, Donald Dollar, Donald Neese and Elmer Williams.

Mr. Dopp was born January 8, 1948 and was a lifelong resident of Hogansville. Before his illness, he was employed as a computer specialist for James River Corporation in Newnan and for Clark-Holder Clinic in LaGrange. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Hogansville.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Kitty Polston Dopp; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Ken Webb; his parents, Andy and Beatrice Thrower Dopp; three grandchildren, Becky Jones, Mandy Jones and Kendal Webb, all of Hogansville; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
