Greg Heaton
Greg Heaton, age 51, of Jackson, Georgia, formerly of Stock-bridge, died August 27, 2009. He was born
in Sylacauga, Alabama. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, and his animals. But most of all he loved taking care of his Mom and Dad.
Mr. Heaton is survived by his daughter, Ashley West, Tennessee; parents, Bill and Dot Heaton, Jackson; one grandson; siblings, Raleigh Heaton, Sharps-burg, Rodney Heaton, Williamson, Carolyn Bryan, Jackson, and Georgia Chancellor, Appling.

James L. Dills
James L. “Jay” Dills, age 95, of Locust Grove died August 27, 2009. Jay was born
in Franklin, North Carolina, to the late Callie Smith Dills and James L. Dills, Sr. and was preceded in death by 12 siblings. He was a retired head meat cutter for A & P Grocery and was a member of Mt. Carmel Road Assembly of God. He was a very active church member and enjoyed yard work, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Dills of Locust Grove; children, Don Dills of Gastonia, North Carolina, Evelyn Lonergan of Locust Grove, Ed (Colleen) Dowd of Brooksville, Florida, Ken (Phyllis) Dills of Locust Grove; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted August 30 at the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, Rev. Carol Renfroe officiating. Entombment in the Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Haisten Funeral Home, McDonough, 770-914-8833.
Linda Underdown
Linda Underdown, age 65, of Hampton, Georgia, died August 30, 2009. Mrs. Underdown was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband William Underdown, daughters Clarinda and Douglas Aultman, Annette and Paul Beets, Kerry Luffman, and Dixie and Erik Jordan, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother Robert and Tina Jones, and also nieces & nephews.

Charlie Grove
Charlie Grove, age 79, of Hampton, Georgia died August 20, 2009. He was born
in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Frank McNulty and Mamie Jane Smith Grove. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Jones. Mr. Grove was an avid Tennessee fan, saying that he bled orange. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting with his sons. He was the former owner of Song of the South Daycare in Jonesboro.
Mr. Grove is survived by his wife, Virginia Roberts Grove, children, Pamela Grove (Bill) Fowler, Stockbridge, Charles Marcus (Cindy) Grove, II, Fayetteville, Lisa Grove (Jeff) Duffey, Wesley Chapel, Florida, Michael Kevin Grove, Stockbridge, Staci Grove (Gordon) Wimberly, Hampton, Jeffrey Bart (Sharon) Grove, Fayetteville; 10 grandchildren, Joseph, Jonathan, Nick, Travis, Justin, Jack, Alec, Savannah, Carly, and Aubree; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Blair, and Inez Coile, Tennessee, Margaret Tipton, North Carolina, Frank McNulty Grove, Jr., Tennessee, and Peggy Gregg, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

Mona V. Parrott
Mona V. Parrott, age 82, of Stockbridge, Georgia, died Au-gust 23, 2009. She was born
in Cairo to the late Amon Talton and Annie Mae Hester Johnson. She grew up on the family farm and attended Cairo High School where she enjoyed playing on the school’s basketball team. Mrs. Parrott also attended beautician school in Moultrie and practiced the trade during her early years. Mrs. Parrott was very active in community service throughout her life. She was a faithful member of the Jodeco Road United Methodist Church in Stockbridge. Mrs. Parrott was a life long member of the Garden Clubs at: Albany Daffodil Club, Albany, Churchill Downs Garden Club, Decatur, and was serving as a current officer of the Perimeter Garden Club of the Greater Atlanta area.
Mrs. Parrott is survived by her spouse, Albert L. Parrott, Stockbridge; daughter, Jennifer and Bruce Wilson, Locust Grove; sons, Scott and Nancy Parrott, Conyers, Curtis and Karen Parrott, Stockbridge; grandchildren, Brian Wilson, Locust Grove, Mark Wilson, Stockbridge, Amanda Wilson, Locust Grove, Christopher Parrott, Stockbridge, Stephanie Parrott, Stockbridge, Kate Snyder, Moosic, Pennsylvania ; great-grandchild, Haydon McKenzie Synder, Moosic, Pennsylvania ; brothers, Jonah Johnson, Powder Springs, Maynard Johnson, Florida.

Hazel Ann Moreland
Hazel Ann Moreland died August 24, 2009. She was born
in Dallas on June 22, 1922 to the late Virgil Butler and Kibbie Mae Akins Butler. She devoted her life to God, her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Loran Lee Moreland and her son, Larry Wayne Moreland.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Tom Barton; grandsons, James (Yvonne) Barton, David (Tara) Barton; great-grandchildren, Josh (Brandi) Barton, Jason Barton, Ashley Barton, Kayla Marie Barton, Chance Barton, Elijah Barton, and great-great-grandchildren, Hanna Escamilla and Ethan Escamilla. She is also survived by her brother, Jack Butler, Sr. and nieces and nephews. She was a member of Metro Heights Baptist Church (formerly Glenwood Baptist Church) for over 50 years.

Marlene Brown Corley
Marlene Brown Corley, age 63, of McDonough, Georgia, died July 21, 2009. She was born
in Atlanta to the late Kimsey and Annie Lee Davis Brown. Ms. Corley attended Community Bible Church. She was with the library system for many years. She loved reading, singing, watching movies and spending time with family. She was also a big NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan.
Ms. Corley is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Jagus, Locust Grove, and Karen Corley Stewart, McDonough; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Erin, and Emma, all of Locust Grove; brothers, David Brown, Fayetteville, Michael Brown, Peachtree City, and Joseph Brown, Stockbridge; many nieces, nephews and other loved ones, as well as her beloved dog Cubbie.
Memorial services were held on July 25 at the Chapel of Community Bible Church, with Rev. Gary Lester officiating.
