Juanita (Jackie) Vasselin, died June 18, 2003 after a long battle with scleroderma and pulmonary hypertension.
She was one of the first auxiliary members at Fayette Community Hospital until her health failed. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity.

Mrs. Batchelor was born
June 7, 1965 in Coweta County to Curtis and Barbara Winkles of Newnan. She was a member of Westview Christian Church and a homemaker.
Funeral services will be Monday, Sept. 8, 2003 at 11 a.m. in the Higgins Hillcrest Chapel with Rev. Gary Boyd officiating. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation was Sunday, Sept. 7 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. James Everett Kent, 82, of Moreland, Ga. died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003 at Fairburn Health Care Center.
Mr. Kent was born
April 25, 1921 in Fayette County, Ga. to the late James Spurgen and Jessie Claude (Willoughby) Kent. He was a member of the Senoia United Methodist Church, Moose Lodge and American Legion. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Kent was a retired Superintendent of Sanitation Department for the City of Atlanta.
Funeral services will be graveside at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Monday, Sept. 8, 2003 at 3 p.m. The Rev. Dennis Fowler will officiate. Visitation was Sunday, Sept. 7 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law Ann and Bill Taylor of Senoia, Ga.; and step-grandchild Anthony Rosplock of Texas .

Infant Kerrion Shamya Ybarra of Newnan, Ga. died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003 at Newnan Hospital East.

August 5, 2003 to Shamandra Newson and Orlando Ybarra in Coweta County.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003 at 11 a.m. from the Smith Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lazenby Road, Newnan, Ga. The Rev. J.C. Neal will be the officiating pastor, assisted by the Rev. Dwight Newson. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6-8 p.m. This will be the only time for the viewing of the Kerrion remains.
Family will assemble on the day of the service at 62 Roberts Road, Newnan at 10 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Michael Stinson and Quincy Hill. Flower bearers will be Mittie Ware, Connie Colton, Patricia Keith and Lisa Alford.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Santiago Ybarra.

Mr. Edward Fowler "Edd" Forbus, of Franklin, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at the Beaulieu Nursing Home in Newnan after several years of declining health.
Mr. Forbus was born
in Troup County on Sept. 10, 1929, to the late Linton Jeffeson Forbus and Glema Bass Forbus. A member of the Mills Chapel Baptist Church in LaGrange, he was a retired security guard from the Newnan Water Park. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Mr. Forbus was preceded in death by his beloved wife and son, Bobbie and Eddie Forbus.
Funeral services for Mr. Forbus will be held today at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home in Franklin. Internment will follow in the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery
in Heard County. The family received guests at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Charles D. Haynes, 69, of Newnan, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003 at Franklin Healthcare Center.
Mr. Haynes was born
Nov. 7, 1933, in Carroll County to the late George and Jeanie Akin Haynes. A U.S. Navy veteran, he retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad and had lived in Coweta County since 1982. He was a member of the Newnan Moose Club.

The Rev. Jimmie Lee Hendricks
The Rev. Jimmie Lee Hendricks, of Mitchell Street in Newnan, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003.
Rev. Hendricks was born
in Newnan on Oct. 10, 1923, to the late Mr. Richard Hendricks and Mrs. Francis Dunson Hendricks.
He joined the Heard Wesley United Baptist Church at the age of 12 and married
Mrs. Margaret Petty on March 3, 1946. The father of three children, Rev. Hendricks was a loving husband, devoted father and a solid rock upon which his family was built. With strong Christian values, he was a family and community leader.
Rev. Hendricks was the pastor of Elim Baptist Church in Newnan for 30 years and the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Roscoe, Ga., for 10 years. He was also an independent painting contractor for many years, and his work has been displayed throughout Coweta County for decades.
The pastor was especially interested in the development of youths and served as Boy Scout Master for several years. More recently, he devoted much of his time to working with the youth of his churches. He worked with personal training, field trips and numerous other activities organized by the youth choirs, with whom he had a special fondness.
Rev. Hendricks served four years in the U.S. Army during World War II. After returning from the war, he was the Wishful Master of the Willie Edith Lodge #500 and achieved status as Potentate 32nd degree for the Shriners.
The first African-American to be appointed to the Newnan Hospital Board of Directors, Rev. Hendricks served on the board for 20 years.
In his leisure time, he was an avid fisherman and was highlighted in the newspaper displaying a day's catch so heavy he could barely lift it.
Funeral services for Rev. Hendricks will be held Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church on West Washington Street. Remains will be placed instate from 11:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Dr. Gene Tyre, pastor, and the Rev. Rufus Smith Sr. will officiate. They will be assisted by Rev. Charles Character, Rev. W. J. Johnson, Rev. Willie L. Geter, Rev. Clinton Melson, Rev. Jack Russell, Sr. Rev. Grady Vaughn, Rev. Virgil Sims, Rev. J.W. Strickland, Rev. J. W. Coleman and Rev. Rev. Reginald Johnson.
Internment will take place at Sunset Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Oak Grove and Elim Baptist Church and honorary ministers. Flower ladies will be ministers' wives and widows and the Mother's Board of Oak Grove and Elim Baptist Church. Family and friends are asked to assemble on the day of the service at the residence at 12 p.m.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Margaret Petty Hendricks; two sons, Dr. Marvin (Helen) Hendricks of Boston and Kenneth W. Hendricks of Atlanta; one daughter, Jeanette Hendricks (Elijah) Mosley of Atlanta; one sister, Hattie Hines; three grandchildren, Bridget Hendricks (Leonard Sutton, III) of Boston, Torrance (Niverca) Mosley of Atlanta and Elisha Mosley of Atlanta; one great- grandchild, Taymar Mosley; three aunts, Sue Macon of Seattle, Wash., Ruby Hendricks and Nellie Ruth Woods; three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Hendricks of Chattanooga, Tenn., Nora Petty, and Thelma Petty of Hogansville; two brothers-in-law, Edgar Petty, and Arlander Petty of New York City; a special niece, Brenda (Patrick) Hamilton; and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Larry Lonnie Arrington
Mr. Larry Lonnie Arrington, 55, of Milner, Ga., formerly of Newnan, Ga., died at Spalding Regional Hospital in Griffin early Friday, Sept. 5, 2003.
Mr. Arrington was born
in Troup County in 1948 to Lonnie and Maggie Arrington. He grew up and spent most of his life in the Coweta County area, including East Coweta School. Known as "Pop" to his family and friends, Mr. Arrington worked for Brent Scarbrough Company as a machine operator before retiring and moving to Milner, Ga. to live with his son, Larry. He loved hunting and fishing, raising catfish in his ponds, and riding the grandchildren around in his Mule.
Mr. Arrington is survived by his father, Mr. Lonnie Arrington of Senoia; son, Larry Arrington and his wife, Rebecca, of Milner; two daughters, Cindy Kelly and her husband Jimmy of Tyrone, and Cathy Tidwell and her husband Michael of Franklin; brother, Junior Harvey Arrington and a sister, Betty Jean Dewberry; both of Sargent; six loving grandchildren, several loving nieces and nephews; special friend, "Smokey."

Mr. Joe Brown (J. B., "Rabbit") Hinton II of Senoia, Ga., died Aug. 31, 2003; and a funeral will be will be Friday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. at the Piney Grove Baptist Church in Haralson, Ga.
Rev. Johnny Strickland will officiate, assisted by other ministers. Burial is in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers are the Piney Grove Deacons.

Nov. 28, 1932 to the late Matthew and Annie Mae Hinton in Meriwether County.
He was married
to Shirley Ann Hand in 1956 and they had five children, Joyce Ann, Joe Brown III, Lewis Mack, Pamela Lynn and Sheree Nicole.
He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and served on the deacon board. He retired from Florida Rock Industries after more than 20 years of dedicated work as a mechanic. He also owned an auto repair and towing service during his lifetime. Over the years he enjoyed the hobbies of hunting, gardening and fishing.

Demond was born
July 16, 1973 in Newnan, Ga. He attended school in Coweta County and graduated from Newnan High School in 1992. He loved God and confessed Christ to be his personal savior at an early age.

January 15, 1928, in Coweta County to Congressman A. Sidney Camp and Sara Farmer Camp. He was a graduate of Emory University, and served in the US Army during World War II. Mr. Camp was a retired Certified Public Accountant, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Commerce. He was married
for over 51 years to Florence Stephens Camp and had lived in Commerce for over 40 years.
A grave-side service will be held Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at Oak Hill Cemetery. The Revs. Chip Strickland and Bobby Stephens will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Methodist Children's Home.
