Mrs. Mary Jo Veal
Mrs. Mary Jo Veal, 86, of Hogansville, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Veal was born
May 23, 1917, in Hogansville to the late Joseph Wesley Partain and the late Claude Todd Partain. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, she was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was retired from Uniroyal, Inc.
Mrs. Veal was a member of the Hogansville Senior Center and worked at the center under the Senior Employment Program until February 2003. She served on the advisory board of the Troup Council on Aging and has also served two terms as a representative in the Georgia Silver Haired Legislature. Mrs. Veal wrote a weekly newspaper column for the senior center and helped write the History of the Mill Village of Hogansville.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Veal was preceded in death by her husband, James Searcy Veal, and her son, James S. (Jimmy) Veal, Jr.
Funeral services for Mrs. Veal will be held Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Dr. Paul Baster and Rev. Jesse Sims will officiate. Interment will be held in the Myrtle Hill Cemetery
in Hogansville.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Whitley of LaGrange and Mrs. Mildred Parsons of Edgewood, N.M.; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ana Veal of Houston, Texas ; two grandchildren, Stephanie Veal and Patrick Pase, both of Houston; and two great-grandchildren, Joy Pase and Casey Veal.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may me made to the Hogansville Senior Center.

Mr. Donald "Donnie" Crouch Jr. of Fairburn, Ga., died Sept. 18, 2003.
He was born

Joshua Dean Ivey, 17, of Tyrone, Ga., died Sept. 18, 2003.

Mrs. Sarah Eunice (Newman) Kidd, 87, of Newnan, Ga., died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center.
She was born
Nov. 21, 1915 in Coweta County, daughter of Grover Cleveland Newman and Lena Forbus Newman. Mrs. Kidd was retired from the Georgia Department of Family and Children's Services.
Surviving are two sons, Mr. Joe Kidd of Gainesville, Ga., and Mr. Hal Kidd of Carrollton, Ga.; sister, Evelyn Hawk of Newnan; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Mr. Benjamin L. Rivers, 83, of Newnan, Ga., formerly of Chamblee, Ga., died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003.
A native of Charleston, S.C., Mr. Rivers was a World War II veteran, very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, and was owner/operator of Overnite Printing Service in the Buckhead area of Atlanta for more than 25 years. His generous spirit and willingness to help will be missed by all.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Elma G. Rivers; son, B. LeGrand Rivers and his wife Debbie of Oregon; daughter, V. Annette Dedio and husband Michael of New Jersey; son, Rodney L. Rivers and his wife, Leslie, of Newnan; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mable Agnes White, 73, of Newnan, Ga., died at LaFayette Rehabilitation Center in Fayette County, Ga.
She was born
March 10, 1930 in Coweta County to the late James L. Hall and Ossie Phillips Hall. She was a homemaker and member of the First Pentacostal Holiness Church in Newnan. She was peceded in death by her husband, Mr. Clifton White.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Georgia White of Lithia Springs and Vinson and Juana White of Carrollton; daughter, Pamela White of Newnan; sister, Melba Adams of Illinois; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be Thursday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. in Higgins Hillcrest Chapel with the Rev. Joe Strickland officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

April 4, 1929 to the late Mr. Ishmon and Mrs. Mamie (Orr-Sims) Ballard. He joined Old Mount Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a deacon. He retired from the William L Bonnell Company with 30 years of service. He was married
to the late Mrs. Lillian (Ball) Ballard.
A child, Donnell Ballard, preceded him in death.
