Mrs. Mary Jo Veal
Mrs. Mary Jo Veal, 86, of Hogansville, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at Hospice LaGrange.

Mrs. Veal was born May 23, 1917, in Hogansville to the late Joseph Wesley Partain and the late Claude Todd Partain. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, she was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was retired from Uniroyal, Inc.

Mrs. Veal was a member of the Hogansville Senior Center and worked at the center under the Senior Employment Program until February 2003. She served on the advisory board of the Troup Council on Aging and has also served two terms as a representative in the Georgia Silver Haired Legislature. Mrs. Veal wrote a weekly newspaper column for the senior center and helped write the History of the Mill Village of Hogansville.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Veal was preceded in death by her husband, James Searcy Veal, and her son, James S. (Jimmy) Veal, Jr.

Funeral services for Mrs. Veal will be held Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Dr. Paul Baster and Rev. Jesse Sims will officiate. Interment will be held in the Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Whitley of LaGrange and Mrs. Mildred Parsons of Edgewood, N.M.; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ana Veal of Houston, Texas ; two grandchildren, Stephanie Veal and Patrick Pase, both of Houston; and two great-grandchildren, Joy Pase and Casey Veal.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may me made to the Hogansville Senior Center.

Mr. Donald "Donnie" Crouch Jr.
Mr. Donald "Donnie" Crouch Jr. of Fairburn, Ga., died Sept. 18, 2003.

He was born April 30, 1955 in Fulton County,Ga.

Surviving are wife, Kathy Crouch of Fairburn; daughter and son-in-law, Stephen and Shannon Sailers, Newnan; son, Donald Ben Crouch III, Fairburn; mother, Catherine Crouch, Fairburn; sisters, Sheila Combs, Jefferson, Ga., Sharon Gibby, Palmetto; brothers, Jimmy Crouch, Fairburn, Phillip Crouch, Fairburn; grandchildren, Audry and Stephen Sailers.

A funeral will be Sunday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Parrott Funeral Home. Pastor Calvin Smith officiating. Burial in Holly Hill Memorial Park.

Joshua Dean Ivey, 17, of Tyrone, Ga., died Sept. 18, 2003.

Surviving are his parents, Melnee and Jerry Mitchell of Tyrone; grandparents, Tom and Maxine Norton of Newnan; Julian and Emily Ivey of Decatur; sisters, brothers and their families, Debbie, Brian, Cailyn and Evan Peddle, N. H.; Billy, Bethany, Anna Beth and Ben Ivey of Franklin, TN; Scott, Alison and Will Ivey, Tyrone; Angela, Michael, Austin and Mikayla Richardson, Stockbridge; Jake Rachel and Aubree Mitchell, Locust Grove; Andrew Mitchell, Tyrone; his many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and teachers from Sandy Creek High School and Flat Creek Baptist Church.

A funeral is Sunday, Sept. 21 at 3 p.m. at Flat Creek Baptist Church with remains placed in state at 2 p.m. Rev. William "Bill" Priester and Rev. Gregg Plott officiating. Burial in Westminster Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Claude F. Moreland
Mr. Claude F. Moreland, 88, of Senoia died Sept. 18, 2003.

Mr. Moreland was born Aug. 13, 1915 in Cordele, Ga.

He is survivied by his wife, Katherine Moreland; sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Bonnie Moreland Sr., Alvaton, Ga.; Gary and Donna Moreland, Senoia; sister, Ivey Mae Kennedy, Marietta; brothers, J. D. Moreland, Macon; Delmar Moreland, Alvaton; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be Saturday, Sept. 20 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Parrott Funeral Home. Rev. William "Bill" Brannon officiating. Burial in Westview Cemetery.

The family was receiving friends Friday, Sept. 19, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Willie Daniels
A funeral for Mr. Willie Daniels of Waukegan, Illinois, will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Elim Baptist Church, Bud Davis Road, Newnan, Ga.

Evangelist Alee McClesky will officiate, assisted by Pastor Larry Warner and Elder Charles McClesky. Burial in the church cemetery. Family friends will serve as pallbearers.

Willie Daniels was born April 4, 1936 to the late Willie C. Daniels of Heard County and Mrs. Eldora Champion of Newnan, Ga.

He died Sept. 13, 2003.

Surviving are his step-mother, Ms. Emma Sue Daniels, Newnan; five brothers, Raymond Daniels, Mr. and Mrs. William (Vickie) Bonner, Mr. and Mrs. Willie (Debra) Champion of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. Mack C. (Christine) Daniels of Riverdale, and Leon Bonner of Atlanta; six sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin (Thelma) Samuels, Ms. Ella Wortham, Ms. Patricia Wortham of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Martha) Alford of College Park, Ms. Glenda Daniels of Riverdale and Ms. Suzette Daniels of Stone Mountain; aunts, Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Alee) McClesky of Atlanta and Ms. Primer Ragland of Newnan; uncles, Mr. Frank Wortham of Chicago and Mr. Gunnie Wortham of Montgomery, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Sarah Eunice (Newman) Kidd
Mrs. Sarah Eunice (Newman) Kidd, 87, of Newnan, Ga., died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003 at Beaulieu Convalescent Center.

She was born Nov. 21, 1915 in Coweta County, daughter of Grover Cleveland Newman and Lena Forbus Newman. Mrs. Kidd was retired from the Georgia Department of Family and Children's Services.

Surviving are two sons, Mr. Joe Kidd of Gainesville, Ga., and Mr. Hal Kidd of Carrollton, Ga.; sister, Evelyn Hawk of Newnan; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, Newnan, Ga., noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19.

A funeral will be at graveside at Oak Hill Cemetery 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19 with Rev. Jimmy Fleming officiating.

Ms. Helen Cook of Fairburn, Ga., died Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at Fairburn Healthcare in Fairburn, Ga.

Infant Lacey MaKenna Ivey, daughter of Greg and Cindy Ivey of Fayetteville, Ga., was born and died Sept. 16, 2003.

A funeral will be Thursday, Sept. 18 at 4 p.m. at Carl J. Mowell and Son Chapel in Fayetteville, Ga. Burial is in Camp Memorial Park. Rev. Dennis Watson officiating.

Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Cole Ivey, Kyndal Ivey and Heather Ivey; grandparents, Doug and Julia Ivey and Ken and Pat Gillespie, all of Fayetteville; great-grandparents, Jewel Gillespie, Janice Ballard and Dorris Ivey, all of Fayetteville; aunt, Mandy Gillespie of Newnan; uncle, Jeff and Michelle Ivey of Fayetteville; cousins, Kory Ivey and Baylee Ivey of Fayetteville.

Mr. Benjamin L. Rivers
Mr. Benjamin L. Rivers, 83, of Newnan, Ga., formerly of Chamblee, Ga., died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003.

A native of Charleston, S.C., Mr. Rivers was a World War II veteran, very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, and was owner/operator of Overnite Printing Service in the Buckhead area of Atlanta for more than 25 years. His generous spirit and willingness to help will be missed by all.

Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Elma G. Rivers; son, B. LeGrand Rivers and his wife Debbie of Oregon; daughter, V. Annette Dedio and husband Michael of New Jersey; son, Rodney L. Rivers and his wife, Leslie, of Newnan; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mable Agnes White
Mrs. Mable Agnes White, 73, of Newnan, Ga., died at LaFayette Rehabilitation Center in Fayette County, Ga.

She was born March 10, 1930 in Coweta County to the late James L. Hall and Ossie Phillips Hall. She was a homemaker and member of the First Pentacostal Holiness Church in Newnan. She was peceded in death by her husband, Mr. Clifton White.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Georgia White of Lithia Springs and Vinson and Juana White of Carrollton; daughter, Pamela White of Newnan; sister, Melba Adams of Illinois; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be Thursday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. in Higgins Hillcrest Chapel with the Rev. Joe Strickland officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family was receiving friends Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Berry Ballard
Mr. Berry Ballard of Newnan, Ga., died Sept. 13, 2003.

A funeral will be Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 2 p.m. at Old Mt. Bethlehem Baptist Church, Corinth Road. Rev. Charles Character will officiate, assisted by Rev. J. T. Coleman, Rev. Donald Barber and Rev. G. B. Vaughn. Burial is in Ballard family cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Ballard was born April 4, 1929 to the late Mr. Ishmon and Mrs. Mamie (Orr-Sims) Ballard. He joined Old Mount Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a deacon. He retired from the William L Bonnell Company with 30 years of service. He was married to the late Mrs. Lillian (Ball) Ballard.

A child, Donnell Ballard, preceded him in death.

Surviving are children, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Johnson (Mae Ruth), Newnan, Mr. Willie Berry Ballard, Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Lee Ballard (Sandra) Mr. W. T. Ballard, Mr. and Mr. Larry Ballard (Wilma), Mr. Robert Ballard, all of Newnan; Mr. and Mrs. Willie Edward Prather (Shirley), Miss Mary Jean Prather, Mr. Milton Prather and Mr. A. J. Prather; brother, Mr. and Mrs. Willie T. Ballard (Robbie), Chattanooga, TN; sister, Ms. Christine Tolbert; brother-in-law, Mr. Willie Lee Walker of Newnan; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
