Roger A. Egger, age 48, of Hampton, Georgia died Saturday, August 6, 2005. Mr. Egger was born in Lubbock, Texas , the son of R.B. and Jane McNutt Egger. He had worked in construction as a carpenter for many years and he also enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Egger; daughter, Laci Kay Egger; parents, R.B. and Jane Egger of Crossville, Tennessee; sisters, Sue and Dan Bolin of Hampton, and Diane and Brian Koon of Crossville, Tennessee.
Services were held Saturday, August 13 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Dudley Rose officiating. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, McDonough/Stockbridge, 770-914-1414, in charge of arrangements.

Ellen M. Wade
Ellen M. Wade, age 58, of Stockbridge, Georgia died Mon-day, August 8, 2005. Mrs. Wade was born in Birmingham, Alabama to the late William Franklin and Frances Lavinia Thompson Goode. She loved her Lord first and enjoyed teaching Sunday School. She loved to read her Bible and to pray. She was a loyal and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed family, cooking for them, telling the family stories and spoiling the grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil Wade of Stockbridge; children, C. Daniel Wade of Lilburn, Angie Wade Jealous of Locust Grove, Joseph Wade of Chicago, Illinois, Chuck Wade of Col-umbus; brother, Joseph L Goode of Hendersonville, Tennessee; sisters, Nancy Poarch of Verbena, Alabama, Jeanne Mims of Thorsby, Alabama; and eight grandchildren.
Services were held Friday, August 12 at Eagle's Landing First Baptist Church. Interment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Sara Love Hubbard
Sara Love Hubbard, age 83, of McDonough, Georgia died Monday, August 8, 2005. Mrs. Hubbard was born in Henry County, the daughter of the late Owen Jackson and Daisy Dean Gleaton Love. She was raised in Henry County, and served in WWII, attaining the rank of Corporal. She received the American Theater Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the WWII Victory Medal. She was an avid reader and loved to plant flowers.
She is survived by her son, Tod R. Hubbard of McDonough; brother, Gleaton (Doot) Love of Griffin; sister, Polly Miller of McDonough.
Services were held Thursday, August 11 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Eddie Mason officiating. Interment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, McDonough/ Stockbridge, 770-914-1414.

Jerry Harris Brannan
Jerry Harris Brannan, age 58, of McDonough, Georgia died Tuesday, August 9, 2005. Mr. Brannan was born Sunday, November 3, 1946 in Henry County, the son of Annie Ruth Nail Brannan and the late Robert Henry Brannan. He was a member of the Flippen United Methodist Church, served his country in the U.S. Navy, and worked in commercial maintenance most of his life.
He is survived by his mother; brothers, Charles and Louise Brannan of Hampton, and Dwayne and Tracie Brannan of Jackson; sisters, Beth and Charles Mays of Dunwoody, and Miriam and Mike Bobo of McDonough; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Services were held Thursday, August 11, in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary DeMore officiating. Interment Flippen United Methodist Church Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home, McDonough, 770-914-8833, in charge of arrangements.

Barbara Ann McClendon Childs
Barbara Ann McClendon Childs, age 76, of Stockbridge, Georgia died Wednesday, August 10, 2005. Mrs. Childs was born Sunday, October 14, 1928 in Butts County, the daughter of the late Annie Lee Collins and William Blount McClendon. She was a member of the Stockbridge Presbyterian Church and loved her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edgar Childs, in 1987.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Crandall Smith of McDonough; granddaughter, Stacie Ann Smith of Vinings; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held Friday, August 12 at Jenkinsburg City Cemetery, with Rev. Tracy Davenport officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Drive, McDonough, Georgia, 30252, in memory of Mrs. Childs. Katie Lou Floyd Gilbert
Katie Lou Floyd Gilbert “Maw Maw”, age 92, of McDonough, Georgia died Wednesday, August 10, 2005. Mrs. Gilbert was born Wednesday, May 21, 1913 in Henry County, the daughter of the late Lola Copeland and Joseph Homer Floyd. She was a member of McDonough First Assembly of God, was a devoted homemaker, and later worked in the kitchen for Cornerstone Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Marcus Starr Gilbert, in 1980.
She is survived by her children, Beamon and Mary Gilbert of Stockbridge, J.T. and Phyllis Gilbert of McDonough, Imo-gene and Curtis Thompson of McDonough, Jerry and Sandra Gilbert of Sunnyside, Dianne and Ron Brown of McDonough, Daniel and Marilyn Gilbert of Douglasville, and Wendell and Karen Gilbert of Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Troy Floyd of Jonesboro; sisters, Lila Geeslin of Jonesboro, Opal Smith of Jonesboro, and Inez Helfner of Cleveland; 33 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, and nephews

Harry L. Branan
Harry L. Branan, age 63, of McDonough, Georgia died Wednesday, August 10, 2005. Mr. Branan was born in Decatur, the son of the late William R. and Dorothy V. Branan. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a deacon as well as other ministries of the church. He started the Bluebird Ministry at the Henry County Board of Education Transportation Department. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Eddie Patterson, in 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Annelle Branan; son, Lee and Sherry Branan; daughter, Renae and Mike Burch; brother, Harold and Kay Branan; sisters, Nell and Travis Patterson, Trudi and Don Garrard; grandchildren, Clay Branan, Jake, Allie, and Luke Burch; niece, Susanne and Daniel Peters and family; nephews, Allan and Julie Branan and family, Steven and Jane Branan and family, Jeff and Peggy Garrard and family; mother-in-law, Anne C. Bushong.
Services were held Friday, August 12 at Bethany Baptist Church, with Rev. Al O'Quinn and Rev. Steve Murell officiating. Interment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Howard Franklin Baker, Ed.D.
Dr. Howard Franklin Baker, age age 81, of McDonough, Georgia died Sunday, July 31, 2005. Dr. Baker was born Saturday, October 13, 1923 in Savannah, the son of the late Clarence and Carrye Baker. He lived in Waynesboro, and graduated from Valdosta High School. He attended Emory Junior College in Valdosta and worked for the U.S. Engineer Department at Moody Air Force Base. He married Mary Newton and they have been together for 63 years. They have a son, Dr. Gordon N. Baker, retired from the Henry County School System and is now Head of Public Services at the Clayton State University Library. Dr. Baker spent 34 months in the U.S. Army Air Corps of which 13 months was spent with the Eighth Air Force in England. He flew 28 missions as a ball turret gunner on B-24 and B-17 aircraft. He graduated from Emory University, Georgia State University, and received his Doctor of Education from Nova Southeastern University. He served as principal of Locust Grove Junior High School, Stockbridge Junior High School, and Henry County High School. He worked for the Georgia Department of Education in Vocational Rehabilitation. In 1968, he was elected to the first of three four-year terms as Superintendent of the Henry County School System, retiring in 1980. In 1981 he was appointed headmaster of Meadow Creek Academy in McDonough and served in that capacity for three years. Since then he has been most happily retired. Dr. Baker is a United Methodist, a Mason, a Shriner, a Georgia Salzburger, a member of the American Legion, VFW, and an active member of the Henry County Retired Educators Association. He was a member of the Henry County Public Library Board for 12 years. He was a resident of Tybee Island from 1992 to 2000, where he was a member of Trinity Chapel United Methodist Church and served on the administrative council and various committees. He was vice-chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tybee Island Historical Society, secretary and vice-president of the Tybee Island Optimist Club, member of the Tybee Lite Shrine Club, and a volunteer and supporter of the
Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum in Pooler. After returning to McDonough, due to declining health, he was only able to participate in limited activities at McDonough First United Methodist Church and the Henry County Retired Educators Association. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Howard F. Baker, Jr.; a brother Clarence E. Baker, Jr.; and a sister, Margaret Virginia Baker.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Gordon; sister, Rosemary Strother of Macon; sister-in-law, Ann Baker of Columbus; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Theron and Jane Smith of Gainesville, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held Wednesday, August 3 at McDonough First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mack Riley, Rev. Lee Bennett, and Rev. James Miller officiating. Interment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Herman J. McArthur
Herman J. McArthur, age 76, of Stockbridge, Georgia died Saturday, August 6, 2005. Mr. McArthur was born in Trion, the son of the late John Ausbin and Emma Viola White McArthur. He served his country with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After more than 31 years with Delta Air Lines, he retired as a Foreman in Quality Control. He was preceded in death by his wife Sara Kirby McArthur.
He is survived by his daughter, Myra L. McCary; son, Thomas S. McArthur; son, Timothy I. McArthur; daughter, Ramona M. Stacey; grandchildren, Scott McArthur, Shawn McCary, Ashley Treadaway, Brooke Hatcher, Sean Stacey, Bradley Hatcher; great-grandchildren, Samantha McArthur, Gracie Treadaway, Caden Blalock; brother, James A. McArthur.
Services were held Tuesday, August 9 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Minister Ken Davidson officiating. Interment College Park Cemetery. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, McDonough/Stockbridge, 770-914-1414, in charge of arrangements.

Perry Ronnie Stewart
Perry Ronnie Stewart, age 59, of McDonough, Georgia, died Monday, August 8, 2005. Mr. Stewart was born Wednesday, December 12, 1945 in Spalding County, the son of the late Ruby Frances Preston and Henry Barney Stewart. He graduated from Henry County High School, Class of 1964, was a graduate of the Kentucky College of Mortuary Science, Class of 1967. He began his career as a funeral director for D.T. Carmichael and Sons of McDonough in 1968 until it was sold in 1985. He was the Henry County Coroner since 1968, serving his community until his time of death. He enjoyed his family, grandchildren, and was an avid Atlanta Falcons Fan. He was a member of the Georgia Coroner’s Association, and a past member of the McDonough Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Fisher Stewart of McDonough; children, Donna and Danny Holder, Julie and Scott Phillips, and Adam Davis, all of McDonough; grandchildren, Patrick, Katie, and Chase Phillips and Haley and Hannah Holder, brother and sister in law, Donnie and Linda Stewart of McDonough; nephews, Rob and Karen Stewart, Ryan and Neil Stewart; aunt, Mary Moye; uncles, T.P. and Willene Stewart, and Lamar and Dolly Stewart.
Services were held Thursday, August 11, in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Chaplain Bob Griffin and Rev. James H. Miller officiating. Interment McDonough City Cemetery. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Tommy Nobis Foundation, 1480 Bells Ferry Road, Marietta, GA 30066 in memory of Ronnie.
