Rich Love
Rich Love, age 41, of Locust Grove, Georgia died Tuesday, September 20, 2005. Mr. Love was born
in Norfolk, Virginia, the son of William Allan and Leone Alice Riddle Love. He was currently employed with Pike Electric and previously was employed with J.C. Penney Distribution Center. He was a graduate of North Georgia College, where he played soccer and was an Academic Officer. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and working in the yard. He enjoyed cooking, in the kitchen and outdoors on the grill. And he loved animals - all of them.
He is survived by his wife Angie; daughters, Brittany Kay Love and Allison Danielle Love, all of Locust Grove; parents, William Allan and Leone Alice Love of McDonough; brother, Eric Allan Love of McDonough; and six nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday, September 24 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Jimmy Ollen Mosley
Jimmy Ollen Mosley, age 61, of McDonough, Georgia died Tuesday, September 20, 2005. Mr. Ollen was born
Wednesday, March 29, 1944 in Duval County, Florida, the son of the late Bennie May Burris and Marvin Ollen Mosley. He was an active member of West Sun-nyside Community Church. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Rhonda Mundy Mosley of McDonough; sister, Sharon Goddard of Stock-bridge; brothers, Kent Mosley of Ludowici, Roger Mosley of Middleburg, Florida, and Jimmy Brooks of Stockbridge; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Thursday, September 22 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Hugh Smith, Rev. Barry Jones, and Rev. Tyson Roach officiating. Interment Haisten/ Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Janice Lynn Cromer Freeman
Janice Lynn Cromer Freeman, age 38, of Jonesboro, Georgia died Thursday, September 22, 2005. Mrs. Freeman was born
Friday, December 2, 1966 in Rockdale County, the daughter of Lucile Linda Garrett Cromer and Rev. George Allen Cromer of McDonough. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she enjoyed playing the piano, singing, and serving as the church clerk.
She is survived by her parents; husband, Raymond Jim Free-man; children, Raymond Scott Freeman, Todd Allen Freeman and Megan Lynn Freeman, all of Jonesboro; sisters, Cynthia Lyn-am of Mableton, and Shelia Watson of McDonough; brothers, Robert, Derron, and Matt Cromer, all of McDonough; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held Monday, September 26 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Gordon Combs officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Nelle Lee Grubbs
Nelle Lee Grubbs, age 91, of McDonough, Georgia died Saturday, September 24, 2005. Miss Grubbs was born
Tuesday, February 23, 1915 in Anderson County, South Carolina, the daughter of the late J. Emma Barton and Samuel J. Grubbs. She was a member of First Baptist Church of McDonough. She retired from Ft. McPherson with 30 plus years of service as a librarian.
She is survived by her nephew, Don and Cheri Mahaffey of McDonough; and great-nephew, Jason Mahaffey of McDonough.
A graveside service for Miss Grubbs will be held Wednesday, September 28, at 1:00 p.m. at Dickerson Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery
in Townville, South Carolina. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Horace Hubert Swanson
Horace Hubert Swanson, age 83, of McDonough, Georgia died Sunday, September 25, 2005. Mr. Swanson was born
Sunday, November 27, 1921 in Towns County, the son of the late Bertha Lee Tatum and Erastus Burt Swanson. He was a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church of McDonough, Past President of McDonough Lions Club, and a graduate of the University of Georgia. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Ford Motor Company as a cost analyst with 36 years of service. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, and enjoyed reading and gardening.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marcia Fisher Swanson; daughter, Marcia Ann Swanson; grandchildren, Susan-na Lee Swanson and Annemarie Swanson; and great-grandson, Logan Knause, all of McDon-ough; sisters, Virginia McClure of Hayesville, North Carolina, and Charlotte Garrett of Young Harris; sister-in-law, Agnes Beers; and brother-in-law, Lewis Fisher, both of McDonough; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held Tuesday, September 27 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Robert Jackson Bell
Robert Jackson "Jack" Bell, age 65, of Jackson, Georgia and recently of Palatka, Florida died Monday, September 12, 2005. Mr. Bell was born
Monday, July 29, 1940 in Fulton County, the son of the late Thomas Augustus Bell and Rebecca Olive Bell. He was a graduate of College Park High School and spent his 42 year career in the airline industry, beginning with Southern Airways, and retiring from Northwest Airlines. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gladys Bell and Jane Bell Bryant.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Ainsworth Bell; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Veda Bell of The Villages, Florida; daughters and son-in-law, Monica Anne Bell of Flowery Branch, and Lisa and Randy Wilson of McDonough; stepchildren and families, Anne Blalock of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Vernon and Deborah Ainsworth of Cumming, James and Sherry Ainsworth, Jr., of Ellijay, and John Ainsworth of Morrow.
Services were held Saturday, September 17 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. John Purrington officiating. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ann Skrobot
Ann Skrobot, age 84, of McDonough, Georgia died Monday, September 12, 2005. Mrs. Skrobot was born
Friday, August 5, 1921 in Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Valentine and Anne Cisz Penksa. She taught kindergarten and first grade in Florida for 12 years, and was retired from K-Mart. She was an 18 year member of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, loved reading, crocheting, and was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Stephen Skrobot in 1985.
She is survived by her children, Penny and Gary Simmons of McDonough, Dale and Betty Skrobot of McDonough, Dennis and Tschia Skrobot of Woodstock; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters, Marge and Ed Zupancic of Las Vegas, and Marie Zupancic of Willoughby, Ohio; nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass was read Thursday, September 15 at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, with Father John Murphy as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home, 760 Pollard Ave., Atlanta, Georgia, 30315 in memory of Mrs. Skrobot. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Randall C. Lail
Randall C. Lail, age 61, of Stockbridge, Georgia died Monday, September 12, 2005. Mr. Lail was born
Monday, January 10, 1944 in Graham County, North Carolina the son of the late Dock Clifford and Zada Ruth Williams Lail. He served his country in the U.S. Army, was a supervisor at Metro Metals, and was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church in North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray Jack Lail, William Grannville Lail, Marvin Larry Lail; and a sister, Mary Louise Rogers.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Hazel Hill Lail; stepchildren, Wayne, Jimmy, Gerald, and Michael Poole, Patricia Parsons, Henry Poole, Jr.; brother, Richard Lail; sisters, Marie Hill, Myrtle Hill, and Vicky Dugan.
Services were held Thursday, September 15 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Inter-
ment Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Gabriel L. Thomas
Gabriel L. (Gabe) Thomas, age 84, of McDonough, Georgia died Tuesday, September 13, 2005. Mr. Thomas was born
in Benton, Tennessee, the son of Gabriel L. and Mary Frances McKay Thomas. He was Executive Secretary to the Atlanta Produce Dealers Association, and also owned and operated Thomas Accounting Service for over 50 years. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church for many years. He was a member of Gideon’s International and a 50 year plus member of Airport Area Kiwanis.
He is survived by his wife, Martha (Couch) Thomas of McDonough; daughter, Marsha Thomas of Hampton; son, Wayne Thomas of Seneca, South Carolina; sister, Frances Smith of Lawrenceville; grandsons, Brian Hammock of Decatur, Tommy Hammock of Stockbridge; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Belle Hammock of Woodstock; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held Friday, September 16 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Dan McKay and Rev. Jim Van Winkle officiating. Interment Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
