Ruby Louise Mason Crane
Ruby Louise Mason Crane, age 99, of McDonough, Georgia died February 13, 2006. Mrs. Crane was born
October 14, 1906 in Henry County, the daughter of the late Eva Crowell Mason and Olis Mason. She enjoyed her family and especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Taft Crane Sr. in 1979.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William Taft Crane Jr. and Celeste of McDonough; grandchildren, William T. Crane, III of McDonough, Carol Irene Crane of Leland, North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Edna Mason of McDonough, and Dale Mason of Locust Grove.
Services were held February 15 at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park, with Rev. Dudley Rose officiating. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Irma Hudene Curl Higgs
Irma Hudene Curl Higgs, age 69, of Locust Grove, Georgia died February 13, 2006. Mrs. Higgs was born
August 9, 1936 in Swainsboro, the daughter of the late Mattie Lavada Kight and Hubert Edward Curl. She was a member of Phillippi Baptist Church, worked in real estate for twenty-five years with Jim Dorminy Realty, Caldwell Banker and Remax. She enjoyed her family and friends and working in her flower garden. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Higgs Bryant.
She is survived by her husband, Winston Higgs of Locust Grove; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Debbie Higgs of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Chrissy Bryant of Atlanta, Jessica Higgs of Alabama; great-grandchild, Caylee Asberry of Alabama; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Wyndall Skipper of Brandon, Florida, Frances and Charles Murphy of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Marcia Curl of Seffner, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held February 15 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Joey Seabolt officiating. Interment Ohoopee Cemetery
in Lyons. Haisten Funeral Home of McDonough in charge of arrangements.
Velma Miller Myers
Velma Miller Myers, age 97, of Locust Grove, Georgia died February 14, 2006. Mrs. Myers was born
January 14, 1909 in Henry County, the daughter of the late Lillie Mae Kelley and William Wood Miller. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church serving in various programs and a member of the United Methodist Women. She retired as a phone operator for Southern Bell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson F. Myers in 2001.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services were held February 16 at New Hope United Methodist Church, with Rev. Kenny Ott and Rev. Ed Judy officiating. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Carolyn Starr Carter
Carolyn Starr Carter, age 79, of Stockbridge, Georgia died February 15, 2006. Mrs. Carter was born
in Morrow, the daughter of the late Jesse A. and Georgia Brown Starr. She loved baseball and was an avid Braves fan. She played basketball in high school, and loved to bowl in her younger years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Oland Carter; and daughter, Angela Lynn Carter.
She is survived by her son, Timothy (Cheri) Carter of Stockbridge; sister, Marie (James) Johnson Starr of Morrow; brother, Harold (June) Starr of Rex; and four nieces and two nephews.
Services were held February 17 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Phillip Gilbert officiating. Interment Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Raymond M. McCart
Raymond M. McCart, age 70, of McDonough, Georgia died February 15, 2006. Mr. McCart was born
October 22, 1935 in Newton County, the son of the late Bruce and Vera Moss McCart. He served his country in the U.S. Army, was retired from General Motors, and was an avid farmer. He was a member of Phillippi Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Peggy Wright McCart; sons, Donald and Barry McCart, all of McDonough; grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, and Alex McCart, Billy Alongi, Trea Bone; sister, Dorathy Lee Tribble of Tennessee; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Betty McCart of McDonough, Jack and Tiny McCart of Jackson; step-mother, Willie Lou McCart of Jackson.
Services were held February 18 at Phillippi Baptist Church, with Pastor Joey Seabolt and Rev. Dee Keith officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Gary Thomas Moore
Gary Thomas Moore, age 50, of McDonough, Georgia died February 18, 2006. Mr. Moore was born
in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of the late Mardell Richardson and Carl Thomas Moore. He was employed by Ford Motor Company. He enjoyed sports, camping, hiking and the ocean.
He is survived by his wife, Lesa Downs Moore of McDonough; children, Brian Thomas Moore and Nikki Moore of McDonough; his dog, Winston; nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law; mother and father-in-law, Al and India Downs of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
Services will be held Thursday, February 23 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. B. F. Alonzo officiating. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Emily Reese Kelly
Infant Emily Reese Kelly, of McDonough, Georgia died Feb-ruary 19, 2006. Emily was born
January 24, 2006 in Riverdale, the daughter of Brian Lance and Candace Renee Lewis Kelly.
She is survived by her parents; brother, Walker Kelly, all of McDonough; and grandparents, Carolyn Lewis of McDonough, Bud and Becky Bowen of Jonesboro, Bill and Betty Lewis of Warner Robins; great-grandparents, Fred and Louise Skinner of Salem, Alabama; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. February 22 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Charles Robinson officiating. Interment Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, Alabama. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, in charge of arrangements.
Frances Fisher Ward
Frances Fisher Ward, age 79, of Atlanta, Georgia died February 20, 2006. Mrs. Fischer was born
in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the daughter of John Franklin and Betty Mae Fisher.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Billy Wyatt, McDonough; son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Carol Ward of Thomson; four grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. February 22 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Mack Riley officiating. Interment Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McDonough First United Methodist Church, 151 Macon Street, McDonough, Georgia, 30253. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Terresa White
God sent an angel to take Terresa White home February 6, 2006 to meet with her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy "Pete" White; and daughter, Alice Mayree White Selman. She was the second of six girls born
in Henry County to Samuel Masters White and Alpha Clark White on September 29, 1905.
She is survived by her daughter, Ailene White Stewart and husband Jack of Decatur; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; friends and relatives, all of whom she will one day welcome home at heaven’s gate. Special thanks to granddaughters, Beverly Rose, Kathy Moss, Donna Jones and the staff of Traditions Health and Rehabilitation.
Services were held February 9 at Ward’s Fairview Chapel. Interment Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery

Ashley Stephanie Lane
Ashley Stephanie Lane, age 17, of McDonough, Georgia died February 6, 2006. Ashley was born
in Douglasville, the daughter of the late Reggie Lane and her surviving mother Lori Cathleen Miller Frye. She was a student at Henry County High School and was a person who would help anybody and when not with her family she would hang out with her friends.
She is survived by her parents, Sheldon and Lori Frye of McDonough; brothers, Richard Zack Miller of Dacula, Austin Miller of McDonough; grandparents, Richard and Evelyn Miller of Ontario, California, Ronnie and Sandra Lane of Douglasville, Jerald and Marcie Frye; great-grandmother, Ella Daniel Davidson of Doerun; aunts and uncles, Derrell and Lise Miller Fields, Tommy and Tracy Lane, Jerald, Jr. and Judy Frye, Grant and Sheryl Heizelman.
Services were held February 9 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Alton Wilson officiating. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
