Judith Anne Schwank Kamradt
Judith Anne Schwank Kamradt, age 59, of McDonough, Georgia died March 11, 2006. Mrs. Kamradt was born
in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Vasta Louise Reavis and Richard Harvey Schwank. She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling and most of all her grandchildren and family.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Joseph Kamradt of McDonough; children, Richard Kamradt of Barnesville, Jennifer and Jeff Tutterow of McDonough; grandchildren, Meagan Kamradt, Kirsten Kamradt and Jackson Tutterow; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services were held March 14 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Mike Register officiating. Interment Haisten/ Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Grace Leach Daniel
Grace Leach Daniel, age 83, of Atlanta, Georgia, formerly of Hampton died March 11, 2006. Mrs. Daniel was born
June 10, 1922 in Fayette County, the daughter of the late Arter Myrtle Mask and George Caleb Daniel. She was a member of Hampton First United Methodist Church and most recently attended Sandy Springs United Methodist Church. She was a resident of Mt. Vernon Towers where she was very active; she served on the decorating committee and other advisory committees. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, who enjoyed being with all of her family, she enjoyed traveling and shopping. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Windsor Daniel in 2000.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George and Alice Daniel of Atlanta; grandchildren, Laura Daniel of Tallahassee, Graham Daniel, Nathan Daniel of Atlanta; sisters, Lucile Brooks of Columbia, South Carolina, Georgia Belle Peters of San Rafael, California; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held March 14 at Berea Cemetery
in Hampton, with Rev. Renfroe Watson officiating. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
M.J. Upchurch
M.J. Upchurch, age 94, of McDonough, Georgia died Wednesday, March 15, 2006. Mr. Upchurch was born
in McDonough, the son of the late Monroe Johnson and Elizabeth Angie McGarity Upchurch. He was a member of First Baptist Church of McDonough and a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was Past Commander and Past Adjutant of the Henry County American Legion Post 55.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sara Hinton Upchurch; sons, Monroe Jayson Upchurch, Harold Toby Upchurch, and Buddy (Judy) Upchurch, all of McDonough; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held at First Baptist Church of McDonough, with Dr. James D. Bradshaw and Rev. Ray Collins officiating. Interment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Rita Lastique Montgomery
Rita Lastique Montgomery, age 90, of Stockbridge, Georgia died March 15, 2006. Mrs. Montgomery was born
March 3, 1916 in Port of Spain, Trinidad, the daughter of Charles and Letita Lastique. She served in the British Navy during WWII. She married
Charles L. Montgomery in 1945 in Rockville, Maryland. After living in several states, they moved to Stockbridge in 1959 and moved to Nokomis, Florida in 1973 until 1996 when she returned to Stockbridge. She was a book keeper for her husband’s construction company and a member of the VFW and Moose Club of Venice, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles L. Montgomery; daughter, Patricia; and son, Greg.
She is survived by her sons, Bruce Montgomery (Mary Ellen) and Gary Montgomery (Peggy), both of Stockbridge, Clark and Hope Batterson of Lake Worth, Florida, Belinda Montgomery, Brenda Montgomery, Janet Montgomery; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held March 18 at Ward’s Fairview Chapel, with Father Terry of St. James Catholic Church officiating. Horis A. Ward Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Lucius Carter Ferguson
Lucius Carter Ferguson, age 83, of McDonough, Georgia died March 1, 2006. Mr. Ferguson was born
in Upson County, the son of the late Mary Julia Watson and Thomas Clifton Ferguson. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, receiving a Purple Heart. He retired from Clayton County Water Authority, where he worked as a treatment plant supervisor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ingeborg Lange Ferguson; and daughter, Carol Perkins.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Tony Ferrari of McDonough; grandchildren, Tracey Kerkemeyer, Tammy Davis, Michael Ferrari and Matthew Ferrari; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Danielle, Kyle, Oleg, Alexei, Anya, Lacey, and Garrett; and great-great-grandsons, Aidan and Bryson.

Ruth Lee Miller
Ruth Lee Miller, age 87, of Stockbridge, Georgia died March 2, 2006. Mrs. Miller was born
in Douglas County, the daughter of the late John and Minnie (Morris) Camp. She was a homemaker and a member of Conley First Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Miller in 1990; and a grandson, Barry “Buddy” Rodgers.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and David Rodgers of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Dean Miller of Rossville, Randy Rodgers of Conyers; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Joanne Spalding
Joanne Spalding, age 78, of McDonough, Georgia, formerly of Knoxville, Tennessee died March 3, 2006. Ms. Spaulding was the daughter of the late Robert Edward and Roberta Bent Spalding of LaGrange, Illinois. She grew up in LaGrange, graduated Lyons Township High School, and attended Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. As a young woman, she was a librarian at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She had a special interest in music and art and did volunteer work with the Arts to the Schools program in Knoxville, her home for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her older sister, Nancy Spalding Stoutamyer.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas Spalding Simpson and Angie Strickland Simpson of McDonough; sister Cynthia Spalding of New York, New York; grandsons, Gray Strickland Simpson and William Spalding Simpson, both of McDonough; former husband, Thomas McNider Simpson of Knoxville, Tennessee; two nieces; and one nephew.
Services will be held Sunday, March 19 at 3:00 p.m. at McDonough Presbyterian Church. Her ashes will be interred in the garden of the Tennessee Valley Unitarian-Universalist Church of Knoxville, where she was active for many years. Cathy Lynne Fuller Freeman, age 35, of Locust Grove, Georgia died March 4, 2006. Mrs. Freeman was born
December 2, 1970 in Clayton County. She enjoyed country music, the outdoors, animals, birds and flowers. She attended Stockbridge High School.
She is survived by her husband, Glen Freeman; daughter, Riley Grace Freeman; and mother, Patricia Edgar Fuller, all of Locust Grove; father and stepmother, Lester and Edith Fuller of Stockbridge; sisters, Pam Freeman of Locust Grove, Sandy Carr of McDonough, Leighann Fowler of Stockbridge; stepsister, GeorgiaAnne of Atlanta; stepbrother, Preston Beam of Bogart; grandmother, Lois B. Fuller of Locust Grove.

James Lewis Pollard
James Lewis Pollard, age 77, of McDonough, Georgia died March 5, 2006. Mr. Pollard was born
July 24, 1928 in Geneva, Alabama, the son of the late William Emmett and Sophie Douglas Pollard. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and retired after 22 years with the U.S. Air Force, during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church and volunteered over 10 years with In His Name Food Pantry.
He is survived by his wife of over 56 years, Joyce A. Douglas Pollard of McDonough; children, Michael D. and Audrey Pollard of Dallas, Cheryl and Charles Sargent of McDonough, Richard J. and Michelle Pollard of Charlotte, North Carolina, Anthony and Myra Pollard of Stockbridge, Teresa and Douglas Crowson of St. Maries, Idaho; 21 grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; brother, Silas Gene Pollard of Geneva, Alabama.

Harold M. Hawkins
Harold M. Hawkins, age 76, of Hampton, Georgia died March 6, 2006. Mr. Hawkins was born
in Ellijay, the son of the late Guy Washington and Flossie Hood Hawkins. He retired from Atlantic Steel with 42 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Jacque Hawkins; son, Russell M. (Kelly) Hawkins of Hampton; daughters, Terri Lynn Hawkins of Hampton, Michelle (David) Makowski of Florence, Kentucky; brothers, Paris (Myrtle) Hawkins of Jonesboro, Guy W. Hawkins of Gulfport, Mississippi; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
