Horace Gregory Dempsey, age 48, of Locust Grove, Georgia died March 19, 2006. Mr. Dempsey was born
December 20, 1957 in Anniston, Alabama. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Locust Grove and had worked in construction for HVAC. He enjoyed his family, NASCAR, restoring and working on old cars. He was preceded in death by his father, William Henry Dempsey.
He is survived by his wife, Lynne Dempsey of Locust Grove; children, Christy and David King of Jackson, Brandon Dempsey of Hampton, Justin and Jarett Dempsey of Locust Grove; grandson, Connor King of Jackson; mother, Willie Mae Dempsey Giles of Oxford, Alabama; brothers, Jerry Dempsey of Lima, Ohio, Roger Dempsey of Covington, Wesley Dempsey of Anniston, Alabama, Chuck Dempsey of Locust Grove; sisters, Peggy Freeman and Mary Jo Morrison, both of Oxford, Alabama, Linda Harmon of Panama City, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held March 23 at Locust Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Craig Bowers officiating. Interment Locust Grove Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Carl Bradley
Carl Bradley, age 33, of Locust Grove, Georgia died March 19, 2006. Mr. Bradley was born
in Jacksonville, Texas . He was preceded in death by his father, William F. Bradley.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Kathy and Earl Allen of Locust Grove; son, Blake William Bradley of Covington; brother, Donnie Hollis of Flovilla; and sister, Gina Day of Bullard, Texas .
Services were held March 23 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Ministers Jeff Wilder and Roger Sheperd officiating. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Charles Hamilton Holcombe, Sr.
Charles Hamilton Holcombe, Sr., age 65, of Hampton, Georgia died March 20, 2006. Mr. Holcombe was born
in Buford, the son of the late James Milton and Ora Eleanor Hamilton Holcombe, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Holcombe of Hampton; son, Charles H Holcombe, Jr. of Turtletown, Tennessee; daughters, Judy A. Holcombe and Kim Carden, both of Hampton; eight grandchildren; and two nieces.
Services were held March 22 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Eddie Mason officiating. Interment College Park Cemetery. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Lorie Evans
Lorie Evans, age 32, of Atlanta, Georgia died March 20, 2006. Ms. Evans was born
in Atlanta, and was a person who liked to have fun and enjoyed attending concerts. She was a graduate of Stockbridge High School and her love was her dogs, Chaos and Digger. She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin J. Evans.
She is survived by her mother, Jacqueline Evans of Stockbridge; several aunts, uncles, cousins; and special friend, Greg Chapman.
Services were held March 23 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. Interment Fairview Memorial Gardens. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Bob Watson
Bob Watson, age 67, of McDonough, Georgia died March 21, 2006. Mr. Watson enjoyed artistic painting, teaching, gardening, music, deep sea fishing, and woodworking. He was a loyal husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and dedicated friend. He was preceded in death by his mother, Estelle Alemeta Watson.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Chambers Watson of McDonough; sons, Kenneth Watson and Keith Watson, both of Atlanta; father, Sanford Dudley Watson of Goodwater, Alabama; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Waymon (Carolyn) Watson of McDonough, Larry (Lori) Watson of Houston, Texas ; sisters, Dorothy (Arnold) Johns of Goodwater, Alabama, Patricia Rushing, Texas , Brenda (Gary) Branton of North Carolina, Joyce Watson of Texas ; stepson, Edward (Anne) Honeycutt of Oneida, Tennessee; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were held March 23 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. John Cramer officiating. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Patricia D. Volinski
Patricia D. Volinski, age 72, of Locust Grove, Georgia died March 4, 2006. Mrs. Volinski was born
in Shamokin, Pennsylvania , the daughter of the late Larry and Alice Rachkowski Bates.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Patrick Volinski of Locust Grove; children, Nikki Norton of Vancouver, Canada, Joseph Anthony Volinski of Oklahoma; Mary Cross of Forsyth; Edward Patrick Volinski of Honduras; ten granddaughters, Alexandra, Mere-dith, Veronica, Lacey, Larissa, Christina, Heather, Jessica, Marika, Rosalyn; great-grandchildren, Mikala, Olivia, Daniel, Christopher; several other great-grandchildren; two brothers; and three sisters.
A funeral Mass was held March 8 at St. James The Apostle Catholic Church, with Father Terry Crone officiating. Entombment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
John Payton Keller
John Payton Keller, age 72, of Hampton, Georgia died March 7, 2006. Mr. Keller was born
in Baldwin, the son of the late Rachel Simmon and John Payton Keller, Sr. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed racing, traveling, playing guitar and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Florence Whittle Keller of Hampton; children, Dianne Montgomery of Hampton, Patsy and Frank Breeding of Forsyth, Melinda and Bill Graves of Jenkinsburg, John and Angela Keller of Locust Grove, Paxton and Carol Keller of Hampton; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Edna Elliott, June Buffington, Hazel Jinks, Joyce Sarver; brothers, Jimmy Keller, Leroy Keller; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held March 11 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Hugh Smith and Rev. Barry Jones officiating. Interment McDonough City Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
James Hooten
James (Jimmy) Hooten, age 44, of Auburn, Georgia, formerly of McDonough died Wednesday, March 8, 2006. Mr. Hooten was born
in Griffin. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Hooten. He loved to travel and liked antiques.
He is survived by his mother, Lillie Lorene Hooten of Riverdale; sisters, Catherine Annelle Busby of Riverdale, Gwendolyn Carol Corley of Stockbridge, Donna Marie Hammock, and Kathy Annice Rivers, both of McDonough; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Max.
Services were held March 10 in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. James West officiating. Interment McDonough City Cemetery. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Maynell Wallace Gerald
Maynell “Nell” Wallace Gerald, age 63, of Stockbridge, Georgia died March 8, 2006. Mrs. Gerald was born
October 29, 1942 in Fulton County, the daughter of the late Eunice Louise Grigsby and Joseph Burdette Wallace. She was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed her family, animals, fishing and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Gerald in 2004.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Tim Tracy, and Debbie and Paul Manning, all of McDonough; grandchildren, Rachel Mitchell of Locust Grove, Jerry Vaughan of McDonough, Joey Waters of McDonough; great-granddaughter, Aubree Mitchell of Locust Grove; brother, Edward Lamar Powell of Carrolton.
Services were held March 10 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Lakyn Danielle Ware
Lakyn Danielle Ware, age 13, of McDonough, Georgia died March 11, 2006. Lakyn, a loving daughter and granddaughter was referred to by family and friends as Lak Lak, KK, Lak N Bug, Baby Girl and Our Little Brat. She was a student at Eagle’s Landing Middle School. She enjoyed music, dancing, shopping, football, NASCAR and her telephone.
She is survived by father and stepmother, Mark and Kimberly Ware; mother and stepfather, Kelly and Henry Collins; sister, Marci Ware; brothers, Kenny Workman, Mark Ware Jr.; stepsister, Katlin Collins; and stepbrother, Kyle Bracey; grandparents, Frank and Judy Ware all of McDonough, Janell and Warren Young of Stockbridge, Dave and Rita Evans of Orange Beach, Alabama, George and Carol Duke of McDonough, Denise Simpson of Hampton, Charlie Collins, Sr. of Covington; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services were held March 14 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Ray Waters officiating. Interment Haisten/ Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
