Annette Bridges
Annette Bridges, 72, of Riverdale passed away May 15, 2008.
Mrs. Bridges was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Bridges.
Survivors include Sons Richard & Kay Bridges of Pelham, AL, and Timothy & Denise Bridges of Senoia, Grandchildren Lauren & Nicholas Bridges, Christine Watkins, and Diane Garcia, Great Grandchildren Tyler Watkins, Lanna Burns, and Lizabeth Burns, Nieces Ann Rodriguez and Shirley Jenkins.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, May 19, 2008 at Liberty Baptist Church with Dr. Randy Wood officiating.
The interment will be at Camp Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Sunday, 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Allene Baker Bearden
Allene Baker Bearden, age 84 of Fayetteville died Friday, May 16, 2008.
Mrs. Bearden graduated from St. Bernard's School of Nursing in Jonesboro, Arkansas in 1944.
She is preceded in death by her husband Troy C. Bearden and her son Troy David Bearden.
She is survived by her daughters Carol Dene Bearden and Deborah Bearden West; twin sister Pat Mathis; grandchildren Baker, Troy, Jamie and Vanessa; great-grandchildren Baker II and Jeremiah.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2008, 11 AM at the West Residence.
Rev. Glenn Stringham will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Fayetteville First Baptist Church or Cancer Research.
Fay Widgeon Maloy
Fay Widgeon Maloy, age 69 of Fayetteville died Sunday, May 18, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her son Barry Mulkey and her parents A. J. and Jessie Fay (Crawford) Widgeon.
She is survived by her son Darrell Mulkey of Cataula; grandchildren Ashley, Kimberly and Hannah Mulkey; sister’s Betty J. (Terrell) Bowles of Fayetteville and Jane (Gary) Neighbors of Rome; son Roger (Diane) Widgeon of Scottsboro, AL and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 20, 2008, 2 PM in the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
Rev. Bill Miller will officiate.
Interment will follow at Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, May 19, 2008, 6-8 PM.

George A. "Tony" Bowman, Sr.
George A. “Tony” Bowman, Sr., age 44 of Brooks died Sunday, May 18, 2008.
Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by his father-in-law John W. Whitton, Sr. and his brother-in-law Wesley N. Whitton.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years Kandyce L. Bowman of Brooks; sons George A. (Kristen M.) Bowman, Jr. of Peachtree City and Caleb Bowman of Peachtree City; daughter Savannah (Kristopher) Elder of Riverdale; parents George A. and Jimmie Anne Bowman of Tyrone; brothers Tim (Stacey) Bowman of White and Dave Bowman of Tyrone; sister Amanda (Julio) Diaz of Tyrone; mother-in-law Maggie S. Whitton of Brooks; brother-in-laws John W. (Audra) Whitton, Jr. of Bullard, TX and Jessie E. (Jenny) Whitton of Jackson; sister-in-laws Anita Watson of Troup, TX and Rachel A. Bonander of Fond du Lac, WI.
A memorial service will be held at the New Hope Church 7719 Callaway Rd. Greenville, GA on Saturday, May 24, 2008, 2 PM.
Rev. Kenneth Whitlock will be officiating.
Mr. Bowman was cremated and arrangements handled by the Carl J. Mowell and Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
Derenda Arrington
Derenda “Lady Ashley Oaks” Arrington, 54, of Fayetteville passed away May 19, 2008.
Mrs. Arrington along with her husband were the owners of Ashley Oaks of Jonesboro, she was also a retired Registered Nurse.
Above all else she was the world’s greatest wife, mom, and friend.
Survivors include her husband William “Buck” Arrington, Son and wife Ashley & Tanya Arrington of Fayetteville, Daughter and husband Stephanie & Ronnie Hindman of Fayetteville, Son David A. Arrington of Locust Grove. Grandchildren Megan, Ashley Jr., Lacey, and Chandler.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Jonesboro City Cemetery with Dr. Billy Wells officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Gregory "Greg" McElwaney
Gregory “Greg” McElwaney, 54, of Griffin died May 19, 2008.
Survived by Daughter Shana Elise McElwaney of Duluth, GA. Son Gregory Blake McElwaney of Fayetteville Sister Mr. & Mrs. Hugh & Barbara Jordan of Fayetteville Brother Johnny McElwaney of McDonough, Brother Mr. & Mrs. B.W. & Patsy McElwaney of Fayetteville, Brother Joel McElwaney of Roswell, GA. and Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral services 3:00 PM Friday, May 23, 2008 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Fayetteville Chapel.
The interment will be at Camp Memorial Park.

Bill Sanders
Will Emmett “Bill” Sanders, Jr, 64, of Fayetteville died May 22, 2008.
He was a retired Lieutenant from Atlanta Police Department and a retired Sgt. Major from the US Army.
He was an active member of Fayette Co. Civitan Club and First Baptist Church of Fayetteville where he was a deacon.
Mr. Sanders was survived by his wife Janett Sanders; son Richard and Wendy Sanders and grandsons Steven, Andrew, and Jake of Peachtree City; daughter Betsy and Brent Millar and grandsons Michael and Alex of Fayetteville; mother Helen Sanders of Bradenton, FL; and brother Ronny and Linda Sanders of Palmetto, FL.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 26, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Overton Chapel of Fayetteville First Baptist Church.
Rev Glenn Stringham will officiate.
Interment will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 until 5:00 PM at C.J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
