DALTON, Ga. - Thomas E. 'Tom' Gilbert Jr. died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at his home. He was 78.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alene Ponder Gilbert, and a brother, Charles Gilbert.
Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Cady, Dalton; his mother, Eula Mae Shepard Gilbert, Dalton; and two grandsons.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Dalton, with Dr. Billy T. Nimmons officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

TRENTON, Ga. - Regina Lynn Hartline died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999. She was 31.

DALTON, Ga. - Clarence P. 'C.P.' Parm died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in an Atlanta hospital.
Services will be today at 3 p.m. at Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. George Ross and the Rev. John Moellar officiating.
Burial will be in Center Point Baptist Church Cemetery.
Madolyn Ward
RINGGOLD, Ga. - Madolyn Virginia Ward died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at her home. She was 80.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Farris and the Rev. Billy Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Phillip Whiteside
LaFAYETTE, Ga. - Phillip Dwight Whiteside died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at his home. He was 49.
He was employed by the Walker County School System and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Maffett Whiteside; two sons, Phillip Aaron and Mathew Dwight Whiteside, both of LaFayette; two sisters, Kathryn Cole and Joan Ritchie, both of Rome, Ga.; two brothers, Robert Floyd and Charles Whiteside, both of Cleburne, Texas.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecil Bryant officiating.
Burial will be in LaFayette Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Donald Anderson
CHATSWORTH, Ga. - The Rev. Donald Howard 'Don' Anderson Sr. died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, in Fannin County, Ga.
Mr. Anderson was a member of Freedom Worship Church, and the owner of Mobile Home Services.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Mullins; his father, William Earl Anderson; and three brothers, Douglas, Noah and Billy Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Arbutus 'Boo' White Anderson; one son, Don Anderson Jr., Chatsworth; one daughter, Donetta Wolfe, Cleveland, Tenn.; his mother, Ethel McCall Anderson, Cromona, Ky.; five brothers, Charles and Randy Anderson, both of Chatsworth, Clyde and Ricky Anderson, both of Cromona, and Delmar Anderson, Greenfield, Ind.; seven sisters, Alice Cvetnich, Payne Gap, Ky., Charma Smith, Dalton, Jackie Stephens, Greenfield, Ind., Glatha Tyler, Chatsworth, Tammy Davis, McRoberts, Ky., Melinda Polly, Goosecreek, Ky., and Pat Anderson, Cromona; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Ponders Funeral Home.
Billy Buffington
ELLIJAY, Ga. - John William 'Billy' Buffington died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999.
He was the grandson of the late William J. Turk, Clara Mae and Clarence McArthur, and John Buffington.
Survivors include his parents, Glenda Sue and Johnny Buffington; one sister, Brenda Martin; grandmother, Annie Keener Turk, all of Ellijay; and three nieces.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at East Ellijay Baptist Church with minister Butch Jones and the Rev. Jess Posey officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be today after 5 p.m. at Logan Funeral Home, Ellijay.

CALHOUN, Ga. - Ruth Clark died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999. She was 77.
She and her late husband Elmer Clark operated Clark's Photographic Studio from 1951 until 1973. She had also been a teacher at the Gordon County Training Center.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth B. Clark, Calhoun, and James B. Clark, Flowery Branch, Ga.; one sister, Margaret Neighbors, Huntsville, Ala.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Padgett Nelson officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery in Chattanooga.
Visitation will be today from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

LaFAYETTE, Ga. - Wanda Lee Vanderford Edwards died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at her home. She was 73.
Memorial services will be held today at 7 p.m. at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Trion, Ga., with the Rev. King Oehmig officiating.
There will be no visitation at Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

LaFAYETTE, Ga. - Clifford Dillard Marlow died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at his home. He was 73.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary Lou of Pickens, S.C., and Gladis Treece, Greer, S.C.; and one brother, Robert L. Marlow Sr. of Greer.
