DALTON, Ga. - Terry Carter died Mnday, Jan. 18, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 50.
He was a native of Whitfield County, Ga.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger M. and Kenneth Carter.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Carter, Dalton; two sons, Chris Carter and Stephen Carter, Dalton; mother and father, Ernest and Bessie Wells Carter; one brother, Jerry Carter, Dalton; sister, Carolyn Glaze, Dalton; three grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Morgan officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after noon today at the funeral home.
Jody Eaker
RINGGOLD, Ga. - Jody LaDell Eaker died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident. He was 25.
He was a graduate of Ringgold High School, worked at Covenant Transportation and was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Clayton and Shirley Eaker, Ringgold; thee sisters, Lisa Thornton, Nashville, Laura Hall, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., and Deborah Owens, Chattanooga; grandmothers, Jessie Cooke, East Ridge, and Virginia Eaker, Ringgold; one niece and nephew.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wallis-Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Henson and Wayne Hamrick officiating.
Burial will be in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dorothy Ellis
CALHOUN, Ga. - Dorothy Dodd Ellis died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999. She was 76.
She was a member of Crane Eater Church of God, and was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Richard Dodd.
Survivors include her husband, James R. Ellis; three sons, Jerry, Roy and Larry Dodd, all of Calhoun; one sister, Johnnie Mae McFarland; four brothers, Floyd, Junior, Jack and Bobby Poarch, all of Calhoun; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Eddie Brannon officiating.
Burial will be in Fain Cemetery.
Visitation will be today after 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Francis Poblette
DALTON, Ga. - Francis R. Poblette died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at his home.
Mr. Poblette was a native of Missouri.
Survivors include two daughters, Dawn Hoskins, Dalton, and Penny Brooks, Florida; three brothers, Norman Poblette, Gaines, Mich., Franklin Poblette, Wallins, Ky., and John Poblette, Providence, R.I.; and one grandson.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are by Ponders Funeral Home, Dalton.
David Stock
DALTON, Ga. - David Myron Stock died Monday. Jan. 18, 1999, at his home. He was 69.
He was the owner of Stock Sales and Service and was affiliated with Belk Realtors for 14 years.
He and his late parents, Samuel Moses and Rose Wiener Stock, formerly owned and operated Millenders Department Store.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Stock, Dalton; children, Anna Ree Stock, Dalton, Sam, Morris and Risa Stock, all of Memphis, and Kathy Satterfield and Bruce Burkhalter, both of Dalton; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Love Funeral Home with Rabbi Elaine S. Schnee officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Virginia West
DALTON, Ga. - Virginia Lee West of Kennesaw, Ga., died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at her home. She was 46.
She was born in Wilmington, Del., and was a highly respected nurse in the Atlanta area for many years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur E. West Sr.
Survivors include her mother, Elizabeth 'Betty' Fisher West, Dalton; two brothers, Arthur E. West Jr., Orlando, Fla., and Tommy West, Roswell, Ga.
Memorial services were held Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church of Dalton.

Stanley Young
SUGAR VALLEY, Ga. - Stanley Young died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 46.
He was a native of Gordon County, Ga., and was employed with Fox Systems as an electrician.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Lynn Knowles Young; one son, Brian Young, Calhoun; his mother, Annie Mae Young, Calhoun; his father, Onice A. Young, Ringgold, Ga.; two sisters, Linda Bartenfield and Janice Sutherland, Resaca, Ga.; one brother, Randall Young, Marietta, Ga.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral home with the Rev. Ricky Silvers and the Rev. James Fain officiating.
Burial will be in Fain Cemetery.
Clem Sluder
CALHOUN, Ga. - Clem Sluder died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at a local health care center. He was 74.
He was a retired textile employee, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Midway Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Sluder.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Sluder; five sisters, Hazel Ratcliff, Chatsworth, Ga., Ruby Ratcliff, Geneva Brown, both of Ranger, Ga., Lona Fowler, and Jeanette Shepherd, both of Fairmount, Ga.; and three brothers, Ernest and Jim Sluder, both of Fairmount, and Jordon Sluder, Calhoun.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church at Oakman, Ga., with the Revs. Billy Williams and Issac Johns officiating.
Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today after 4 p.m. at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home.
